Apple?
Oh well, at least Netflix casting execs can keep the couches squeaking for a little while longer.
Wonder how much of that action Obama is getting.
apple vs netflix
Apple and Netflix
99% of Apple's new shows look like absolute crap. I am not seeing a lot to make people want to spend $5 per month to join.
If I am understanding your allusion, Obama wouldn't need to promise a Netflix part to "squeak a couch". I think this is Netflix and Apple.
Apple and Netifx and there has not been one show either that looks good enough to pay for the streaming service.
Looks like Obama's gonna have to find a new sponsor to fund his $65,000 "hot dog" habit.
Disney will own them.
Lets be honest, since Jobs died, creating new things has not been Apple's strong point. Also, this might mark the first time that Apple has sold something for what it's actually worth instead of jacking up the price.
Apple takes on Netflix with a $5-a-month streaming service

I would love to see Disney hit the wall and start offering Disney branded Android phones.
Netflix doesn't charge provincial sales tax in Canada but they made an agreement with the Canadian government that they would develop shows in Canada. They never did. People in Canada are furious. they are the only company in the country that doesn't collect sales tax.
Strange, seems like half of the Netflix shows are filmed in Canada. 🤔
Apple it will be higher than the rest in the end, not buying into any of them
Netflix has the money and the international reach. Disney is a juggernaut. The rest of them it's going to be a bloodbath. No way Apple beats Prime. Unless maybe Apple gets the Kardashians, they seem to defy logic.
Selling NFLX short..... But seriously, the winner will be the company that figures out how to put XXX porn videos on the service and yet keep that on the down low. Because the world loves to watch porn videos before going to bed. Don't take my word for it. Ask the network IP folks of hotel chains and ISP's.
I guess all any streaming service needs is one show to hit really, really big. Then they fill in the rest with old stuff everybody has either seen twenty times or has no desire to ever see. It's amazing how much content there is out there just tons of unwatchable junk. Prime is the only streaming service I have and it's a wasteland. I only have it because it auto-renewed before I cancelled.
Except that Apple will just have nine original shows when they launch the service...
Apple has zero reason to compete directly against Netflix, and that's not what they're doing. They don't even have a back catalog of old shows or films, which would be the priority if they want people to cancel their Netflix subscription and get an Apple TV+ subscription instead.
What they're offering is exclusive content with a few premium shows, free to their recent customers (if you buy an Apple product, you get one year of Apple TV+) and $5 a month for everybody else. But it doesn't look like they want to be the main streaming service for some people, it's just something that will come on top of an existing Netflix or Disney+ subscription. They don't attempt to bury the competition, which would be stupid for them, as they have zero background in film production, and they have some ties with Disney. It's just a matter of image. They want a few Apple TV+ original shows to be regarded as cool and edgy. It's publicity.
Wow... The analyst who posts these blind items is definitely someone who is out of touch with the subject they're supposed to be a specialist of...

Wow did Apple get the old guys from Prime after they were canned? This lineup is sh!t. Anything to promote their overpriced hardware, when did Apple become the new IBM?
Hook the people, then raise the rates when they've had enough time to be happy with the product. Netflix them. (I agree, it's Apple.)
Apple getting into producing content is a pure vanity play. Just shows that they have hit the wall in product innovation and they want to grab some headlines and desperate actor cock.
@Count, Well I doubt their asian factories are bringing out the young workers like they used to for visiting corporate, no twinkies until the tariffs get resolved.
Netfix is the one that won't survive. They don't own 99% of the shows and movies they rely on as it is. They're like cable as the internediary in that sense, basically; people thought they'd never live without Comcast a decade ago.
The only way that Apple will succeed is if they add all kinds of TV shows and movies. I'm sick of having Netflix and not wanting to watch anything of any importance.
Trump is leaning on Tim Cook; remember they've lunched together often. He wants to be sure Netflix is burned cuz Obama is involved with them.
