Blind Item #8

This permanent A list designer who is not a nice person charged triple her normal rate for a recent dress for this celebrity offspring because she knew the offspring would pay it.

  2. Why not, it wasn't her money.

  3. Probably wasn't even the most expensive little white lie.

And not for the first or last time I'll wager.

    1. 3X the going rate to offspring of a celebrity? That's horrible (enty did say the designer is an awful person) and guarantees loss of future business when it gets out.

  7. What's not to like about this story?

  8. I dont like selective customer service and sliding price scales (loyalty discounts excluded). Between this and the other blind, I can't stand Vera Wang.

  9. I used to work for HL Group in NYC and we represented Vera and DVF. Both are total psychos, but Vera takes the cake. I'll never forget the time I saw her creeping around Bloomies in Soho to check out the way they were displaying her merch. And also the time she had a waitress fired from Blue Fin at the W in Times Square for messing up her sashimi order. I also repped Bobbi Brown (makeup) and she was LOVELY.

    2. I've not read any negative stuff about Vera Wang, if she did that to the waitress that's disgusting, I hate it when people that get a little bit of power abuse those they consider "lower" than themselves 🤬

If you've any more gossip I too would love to hear 😉

    3. Well, to be honest that waitress was me. And imagine her surprise when I walked through the door at HL Group a few years later...

I worked in the fashion industry for over a decade. I’ve got stories. Lots of them!

And stories about Clooney and his gaggle of male models who would roll up to The Carlyle Hotel to meet him in his favorite penthouse. I was a regular at Bemelman’s.

  13. she had three dresses....and should have stopped at 2

  14. Yes, fashion is a big scam. Especially if you can sew, know what flatters you, and do it yourself for a quarter of the price. And look at most of the designers anyway. Creepy, ugly, poorly dressed, and you think they’re gonna know how to make normal people look their best? Lol nah.

  15. If you're interested in fashion then I can highly recommend a book called Fashion Babylon.

  16. I would love to meet Vera, she sounds like such a cunt. It would be fun to have a bit of a row with her.

  17. @Bleu, It's the meth head rate.

  18. @Astra, Yes with this fast fashion garbage you'd better at least know how to mend, that crap starts falling apart after three washes.

  19. I didn't like Hailey's dress - looked like it was falling down, too low-cut IMO.

  20. Brayson, and the prices! If I’m going to pay for a cheap ill fitting piece of shoddy fabric, I certainly don’t want to pay exorbitant amounts of money for it. It’s criminal. But everything nowadays is like that. Planned obsolescence, and the best part is it’s done by the corporations that lecture us about the environment and recycling and buying less, as they churn out cheap crap that won’t last.

  21. I actually like her wedding dresses but yeah high fashion is a bunch of bs. I wish I could learn to sew but I don;t have the patience.

  22. @Fashionfluff: Very informative posts!
Please say more about why DVF is a "psycho" and is her marriage to Barry Diller just so her kids can inherit his money?

  23. Oh, Fashionfluff, PLEASE keep commenting and spilling! Great stuff!😁

  24. @Fashion Fluff: Loved your story! Did she even remotely recognize you? A friend of mine worked for DK for a looong time (another psycho) until she just couldn’t cope anymore.

  25. Barry plays for the other team. It’s a marriage of money and convenience. DVF wasn’t that bad, but she sure loved to call HL’s cofounder and scream at the top of her lungs. Why she’d put it on speaker, I’ll never know.

If you run a company as large as DVF or V Wang, you really do need to be a psycho to some extent to keep it afloat. Don’t think Vera recognized me...she thought I was just some actress/model wannabe at Blue Fin.

My old coworker used to work as a stylist for Givenchy and said yes, at that time Kanye was with Riccardo Tisci.

I’ll have to dig deep to remember all the crazy, shocking things I experienced, but for the most part, the majority of the celebs I came across were pretty nice.

    Fashion is another story!

  26. I can't wait for Bernie to be elected and socialism to kick in. FREE Vera Wang gowns for everyone!!

  27. @Fashionfluff. Thank you again for your post and info about Barry Diller. He dated DVF in the 70's, then went gay, then mysteriously went back to her in 2001. I read it was because he liked her son Alexander and wanted to leave his money to him.

  28. Well, that is VERY interesting and makes sense!

On the bearding note, I've also always heard that SJP and Matthew Broderick were just besties and that MB is actually with Nathan Lane and they both have raging coke habits.
