No. I didn't have a curfew. My parents thought I was a good kid lol
No, I just walked out.
Mind you, we had a far different teen culture than you Yanks.
No .
Yes. All the time.
Sneaking out of the house is a lifelong skill for men. ;)
No, I was more of a homebody. My parents actually seemed kind of excited when Id go out with friends.
Yup. My step sister and I were both the same age and we climbed out the window and met the boys in our neighborhood and hung out at the country club up the street
No. Had nowhere to go, I lived in the boonies.
Yes, all the time
Not that I had anywhere to go...probably to go tp’ing or something lol
Yes, but, only a handful of times.
No. My mother was mostly unconscientious from her meds so I didn't need to sneak.
Yup, when I was 16 I climbed out the window and right down the gutter. Went to my grandmother's house and stayed the night. My gram got into big trouble for harboring a fugitive!
Yes! Many times!
I climbed out my bedroom window when I was 15 to meet a boy at the high school at night for a big make out session. Looking back I can't believe I did that! Hormones will make you do crazy things.
No my sister was skilled as sneaking out of the windows, until my mother nailed them all down..
I followed every rule so I could do what she said was okay 😌
Of course. I was in love with this guy, who my mom despised. My best friend was covering for me, so I could see him. It was like that episode of Roseanne, where Becky sneaks around with Mark.
No, I wanted to make it to adulthood.
Yes! Straight to the disco.
Nah, I was too afraid of getting busted to sneak out so I did the NEXT most stupidest thing a teenaged girl could do...I snuck people IN to my house to hang out or (quietly) party with, and I did so constantly. This was an easier feat to pull off as my father was often gone overnight for his job, and my mother could legit sleep through a military invasion. I had a basement bedroom and our floor creaked, so if by chance my mother awoke and got out of her bed, I would have an advanced warning to clear people out or have them hide. We had a walkout basement also - so it felt like a minimal risk in my deluded, teenaged mind. 😂😂
At age 14, I felt bad for one of my guy friends who was arguing constantly with his dad over bad grades. When this pal of mine was given abysmal grades in several subjects at the end of first semester that year, he decided to run away from home in the middle of brittle cold winter weather. Being the SWELL friend that I am 🙄, I snuck this poor rascal in and let him stay in my closet for several days. There was no hanky panky or monkey business, either!!!! We were platonic friends ONLY, as he was dating my best friend at the time (who also knew where he was & agreed with the arrangement). Anyway, I brought him food and drink, gave him pillows and blanket, and tried to make the tiny closet as comfortable as I could for him.
The messed up part? He first arrived on a Thursday night....so we had school the next day. Being "semi" goody-two-shoes, I faithfully attended school the following day...but left my friend at the house stranded in the closet and gave him a wastebasket to pee or crap into if needed. I also gave him a stack of teenage girl magazines to read and a flashlight, and told him to have at it. 😂 I did this knowing full well that my father would be in and out of the house throughout the day and would have ample opportunities to bust the situation. Thankfully, he didnt. After a few days, my friend tired of living "on the run" so to speak, so I let him out one evening after dark and he returned home. Life went on like nothing had ever happened.
Miraculously enough, neither of us ever got busted. Not by my parents or his parents. I'm guessing he had to have left a runaway note for his parents before he originally left, because they never filed any sort of a missing persons report on him or got the cops involved. This was in the 90s, so truly not all that long ago... If this were my son today, I'd have an AMBER Alert out sent out as early as possible!! Kinda crazy to think about. My pal also never sold me out to his parents, who grilled and interrogated him for several hours when he returned home.
Ahhh....youthful stupidity at its finest! 😉🙌
Sadly no. I spent my Saturday nights watching love boat and fantasy island . I was a band geek .
Yes of course being the heathen child I was. I had it down to a science. Step stool under the bed. My parents went to bed with the chickens. I crawled out the bedroom window and walked two houses down to a friend's car where they waited. My parents never knew. Often I was getting home just as my dad got up to run (for exercise). There were a couple of close calls.
No, but I did when I reached my 40s.
No. We lived in the middle of nowhere, so there was nowhere to go.
A couple of times. But it wasn't worth the punishment afterwards.
All the time and never got caught. It started young. I'd just walk out my window and get on my bike and ride. I didn't even have a plan, just liked the idea of it. Later, of course, it was boyfriends... my dad was always out of town and my mom slept hard and deep and frankly probably didn't give a shit. No regrets. No horror stories. IT FELT LIKE FREEDOM
Kinda sorta.
I would go to a local convenience store instead of school until my dad went to work and I snuck back into home.
I'm pretty sure I did.
Never snuck out but often had to sneak IN because I usually came home after my curfew.
No. I did lie and say I was staying overnight with friends but really spending the night with my BF. His parents didn't care.
No, didn't have a curfew.
I didn't need to sneak out. We had no parental guidance. I think I missed out on a lot by having a parent who just did not care.
Every chance I could
Oh hell yeah!
Nope. I had (and still have...) social anxiety and agoraphobia on top of being an introverted homebody.
No, there was no curfew for me so no need to sneak out of the house. Good thing I was a good kid who learned right from wrong early on. My mom was big on saying if you haven't learned the life lessons I have taught you by this age, you never will. With that said my brothers had a time they were to be in. Usually the opposite but they made the right decision there.
Hell no! I should have though.
