  7. Yes at companies I have worked for in the past, but now that I work from home, I'm not sure how it will work.

  10. My office doesn't need an excuse to get drunk and sleep with eachother. They manage to find the time on the regular.

  11. My husband hosts a harvest meal for his co- workers. It's an all day affair of eating, drinking, and friendship.

  12. I told a fellow Real Estate Broker we're being replaced by the Internet, he said, "No. That will never happen!"

    Guess what?
Real Estate Brokers are being slowly replaced by the Internet.

Realtor.com, Zillow.com, & RedFin.com are just a few sites that allow Sellers to solicit Buyers to avoid paying a third party a commission.

I give real estate about ten years before it's completely taken over by computers.

So, No. I don't have a Holiday Party!

    There is nothing to celebrate.

  13. I work on a college campus. It used to be a 2-hour big, grand affair with hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and singers in the ballroom of the student center. Now, it's a catered meal just for our department and an ugly sweater contest. We usually receive a $40 gift card to somewhere local.

  14. @David, Don't feel bad, that will be most white collar jobs in a few decades, maybe sooner. But everyone keeps dancing along like the future is a bright place.

  15. Yes and it's amazing. It's held each year at a resort and it's always a perfect evening.

  16. I've been self-employed for most of the last 20 years. But I'm temporarily working for a friend and they do have a (house) party, which I'm very excited to attend!

  17. Technically, yes. But I work for the state gov. I can't think of anything I'd rather do less.

  21. We are scattered across the US and usually two of us are out of the country most of the year. Alas no office parties but I manage a party of one every year to honor the tradition.

  22. Alas, we did had holiday parties at work like Christmas and all. Not anymore. Some fuckfaces of higher up were whining about not having the money for such things (yeah right), so they cancel it forever. Madness.

  23. Yeah but it's a "family friendly" party so I would rather be cleaning toilets but I go so as not to piss off upper management.
