Maybe Jason Bateman? Was Justine ever higher on the list than him?
Yeah, wasn't she on Family Ties before he was acting?
David Arquette
Damon Wayans Jr.?
One of the Skarsgards?
I like Natalie's answer!
Jason Ritter
Sean Astin?
I think @sandybrook got it,it took forever for him to be a big star, you would think that he was past the drug period. Probably one of those people who are better off trying to get to the top.
Nah cheesegrater it looks like they were starting around the same time, but she did really well with Family Ties and won awards, so maybe they still fit.
Maybe Josh Brolin?
Poor Bateman. Ya know what they say about 50, its the age men lose their minds and women find theirs.
Has Kieren or Rory overtaken McCauley Caulkin?
A lot of these people arent that much younger than the Baldwins.
maybe that's why the 3rd season of ozark is taking so long...
Give the guy a break. He smirked his way through Teen Wolf Too, we don’t know if Mark Holston has his way with him
I thought Jason Bateman for this too.
Jason Bateman was my first thought
All of the Culkins have been acting since before the tween years, but due to his critical acclaim on Succession I'd say Kieran has over taken Mac at least professionally even though thanks to Home Alone he (MC) will always be more famous.
Kieran Culkin fits.
Can't see Batemen as dual threat or as having a coke problem. He seems too anal retentive. I know he has done movies but nothing stands out that I consider would make him dual threat.
Kieran also has a new baby, so I could see the stress getting to him. But is he A-?
Dave Franco
Except for Josh Brolin, no one on the list is A-.
Jason Bateman was a teen actor in a show called Valerie in the 80's.
I also doubt it is Jason Bateman, he seems to have his shiz together as a longterm professional entertainer.
Joaquin Phoenix?
@ JT isn't dual threat tv and film? Bonafide following with ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT and previous shows and now OZARK and has done a ton of comedy movies as supporting then lead. That's a dual threat.
I think this is Bateman because he languished a long time before finally really hitting it big.
Also he DID start the same time as his sister... he was on SILVER SPOONS.
Both Bateman and Kiernan are probably A list... Kiernan is up for a Golden Globe. Bateman has been everywhere and OZARK Is a huge hit. But Culkin was acting WAY before he was a tween. I think Jason was probably 11/12 on SILVER SPOONS as Derek.
Jason Bateman was born in 1969 and started working in 1980. Bateman has been married since 2001 and his kids are older. I think if a new baby was at home, ENTY would have mentioned that.
So, I would say Jason Bateman over Kieran Culkin because while he is on a hit show and has a famous last name...I still would put him at B+.Because Bateman is much more recognizable with his movies and Ozark and Arrested Development.
I think Jason Is often a very one note actor in the sense I feel like he plays himself in everything (comparing him to Bryan Cranston and James Galdolfini in similar shows) , but, regardless, I hope he get help. This time of the year can be tough.
Melissa's guess.. Joaquin Phoenix +1
The Joker sealed the deal for the public at large and got him over the River Phoenix hump.
But, Joaquin has never had any hit tv shows that he led is all like this blind states. Not that it really matters lol but that is why I do not think this is Phoenix .
@kiki71 - I always thought Enty meant dual threat as being a bankable star in more than one medium. There are plenty of actors that have done Movies and TV and/or Broadway, but I wouldn't call them dual threat because they don't have the immense fame to get people into the theater or in-front of their TVs to watch the shows. Bateman has done movies but never carried a movie on his own that I can recall. If Enty does mean dual threat as anyone who has done TV and film and/or broadway, then that is a very generous to call that actor a "threat" .
Not Bateman. His career eclipsed his sister's long ago.
His father-in-law is Paul Anka! Anka would have him disappeared
if he went rogue ... ever hear Anka's post-show rant at his band?
Classic, better than Buddy Rich's.
I was thinking Joaquin also ... he is a director, so double threat.
I don't believe he and Rooney Mara are married, though.
The "shows" confused me though, he did do television long ago.
Maybe it's a different kind of show. Theater? Music? Puppets!?
Sean Astin?
Scott Caan?
Oliver Hudson?
Don't know if this is Jason Bateman. Hasn't been clean and sober since his 20s?
Thot and Melissa - it's definitely not Joaquin! He isn't married, and is a really good guy with excellent integrity / internal moral compass. He's also cleaning up his act and is even trying to quit smoking, he's definitely not caning drugs.
Seconding Dave Franco
Dave Franco as higher status than James? Nah.
Bateman fits way better than any of the others.
