Marriage Story for the film...
I guess the whole Obama experiment didn't pan out ???
If we're talking about the Irishman, you're right. I could not finish it.
This is Irishman, I couldn't finish it either
Irishman and AACTA awards
Done after 45 min
I couldn't get through The Irishman either. So slow, and my mind kept wandering.
Award bait is award bait. Such movies and tv shows are never meant to appeal to general audiences, they're meant to grab nominations.
Irishmen and Marriage story were both snooze worthy. I couldn't finish either.
This is The Irishman
I saw the whole thing, it was good
Someone made a Twitter post explaining how to break it up into ~40 minute chunks so you can watch it like a mini-series
I hated Marriage Story. I walked out of it in the theaters, I saw it streaming for free online so I tried to watch it, couldn't stay with it then either. I thought it was full of itself and there are better movies on divorce. And I don't get the hype about Adam Driver. He is like a block of wood.
The Irishman, totally meh. Marriage Story was great!
Supposedly Netflix only counts you as a "viewer" if you watch 70% of the film/show.
+1 Do Tell, Adam Driver is one of the worst actors I've ever seen in my life. If Weinstein swung that way I'd swear Driver was one of Harvey's girls.
FALLING ASLEEP you usually don't turn it off, hence the 70% is meaningless. Unless they can hear the snoring, they assume you are awake.
Sure, the Obamas totally should be paid millions and millions by netflix.
They have so much experience in the industry.
the irishman was very boring.
why do you get so touchy every time someone mentions de niro? are you him?
Yeah... I don't get the Adam Driver hype... IMO they could have replaced him with a robot on Girls... never thought he'd go past that, but suddenly he's getting good roles everywhere...
@J, It was protection money. How else was Netflix going to protect itself against the studios and Disney? It was hire the Clintons or hire the Obamas, I think Netflix made the right call.
Brayson, it's all just so sad.
The Irishman, had to watch it in parts because it's so long but I loved it.
I didn't see the Irishman but I really liked Marriage Story. Not the biggest fan of Driver or ScarJo but thought the writing and directing were bang on and they gave pretty good performances.
Brayson, I'm surprised you're so down on Adam Driver. I think he's too forgettable to be worst anything, personally.
For Netflix The Irishman could have been the best TV series ever made. Leave in some of the cuts and a five or six parted would have been incredible.
But Netflix have a righteous boner for nabbing an Oscar, and let's face it, none of their other movie drivel is ever going to get near a Razzie never mind anything else. So movie it had to be.
That said, I loved it, shite de-aging CGI aside.
@J, That's the best part of being mortal, one day you get to check out of this shitshow.
@Da Fresh, He was forgettable until they tried to make him the new Darth Vader, kind of tough to ignore yet another actor who ruins a Sith role 😂. He's pretty good when he wears a mask and doesn't talk, I'll give him that, he has a promising future as a gimp.
@Vic, It obviously should have been a miniseries, you nailed it, they just wanted awards.
I can easily sit through three hours of brilliant Scorsese. Ten minutes of K-trash is cruel and unusual punishment.
Not true in my household... the movie was so boring i fell asleep and forgot to turn it off lol i bet if they knew who fell asleep it would be about 100 percent loss by the end of the movie
Laura Dern is hard to look at. I wince a little every time I see that catchers mitt face.
Fucking stop if this is about the Irishman. People who think it's boring know nothing about cinema.
They have to fudge numbers because no one watches Netflix anymore. Walmart has better selection in the discount bin
That's a little unfair Rosie, their selection of shows they offer me in Spanish, Hindi and Korean is unparalleled. It's the dearth and quality of the stuff they offer me in the only fucking language I can actually fucking speak which is a fucking pisser .
I am apparently among the few who did finish Irishman, tho over two consecutive nights. Yes it was slow but I did like it. I thought Joe Pesci’s performance was his best role ever, and the standout performance of the film. Hope he wins awards for it.
S/U
A Marriage or whatever with scarjo. I just turned it off myself. Zzzfest.
Loved the Irishman. All in one sitting, no breaks.
joe pesci deserves the awards
