Stroker.
O/T: the great Buck Henry has dies at 89. An immense talent, but boomers will always remember him as Uncle Roy, an SNL sketch from the late 70's that would NEVER make it on the air today
Died, not dies
TBF Reynolds and his team of writers always make a good movie.
@longtimereader yes they do. And if you're the top dog, why not get the butt kisser? At least you know you'll be able to prevent Green Lantern-esque train wreck movies that way, since a butt kisser would allow you some creative license with your flick.
On a side note, wonder what went down with Ryan and Jake G. Both Reynolds and his wife stopped following Jake on IG.
Oh snap. Interesting, thanks Skipper
Seriously who wouldn't choose the butt kisser? They thrive everywhere. Case in point: cdan
E- They've been showing, "Heaven Can Wait" on cable recently. I adore that film and Henry is hysterical
"Do the words, you're not being a good sport mean ANYthing to you Mr Pendelton??".
He had a really unique delivery. I don't think most people realize all the scripts he wrote or helped doctor.
@Slim and his small part as the hotel desk clerk in "The Graduate" completely elevates the scene from just a segment in the movie to true comedy.
Supposedly Buck is the one who came up with the genius Cone of Silence in Get Smart, one of the most fab gags of all time
@E, really? I still use that one. Few get it nowadays, sadly.
So, really how all people get their jobs.
RR has been a producer and driving force on Deadpool from the beginning, and held out for the right writers on the original. This has been a passion project for him, he's had vision for it from the jump. He wasn't happy with Miller, which is why he didn't direct #2. He's learned his lesson about trusting directors who won't listen to the producers and star.
I trust RR to protect the franchise more than any old Johnny-come-lately with a DGA.
@Sitcom Guy - I don't understand the RR hate. The guy is genuinely funny if you follow his Instagram account. Deadpool should be protected.
@scurfie - 100% agree. He doesn't seem to be as drunk/entitled/womanizing/rapey as many others.
P.S. The snarky line at the end of my last post should have concluded with "DGA card."
I wonder often how Ryan Reynolds became the personality he is today. Yes, he can be good with humor but also quite cutting and mean. I wonder what in his past made him this way… Maybe bitterness that he has a good body but a male butterface? Like Adam Levine. Either way he acts like he has a chip on the shoulder that he’s compensated for by becoming a combo of funny and asshole… Either way, he’s lucky he landed Blake lively because she’s a lot hotter than he is, if not a bit insufferable (tho I do think she’s good at picking her projects). I think RR would prefer it if she stayed home from jobs & play mommy why he is out working & cheating. Just a guess. Hope karma catches up & this film is awful.
Tho I should add, as others pointed out above, the bar is so low that well, he’s one of the good ones bc hes not assaulting women and abusing others...Sad the bar is that low…
@ Rosie riveter- Every time I read one of your comments I hear the sad trombone from the SNL “Debbie Downer” sketches. 😂 https://youtu.be/CQeezCdF4mk
@notthisagain
He had a pretty broken relationship with his dad.
+1 @notthisagain
I don't get the love for him at all. comes off like he has a GIANT chip on his shoulder.
