Aaron Paul?
John Krasinksy?
That Jack Ryan show really went off the rails in series 2. It was like a live action Team America.
What streaming show could have been a potential goldmine? And what former A- list tv actor has a product for investors?
I could never get into John Krasinsky being Jack Ryan. He is just not the tough guy type to me.
@Pam, Maybe they were hoping for a sort of Bruce Willis/Moonlighting crossover repeat.
But to be honest I never got into the whole Jack Ryan movies/tv thing except for The Hunt for Red October, for Sean Connery and the rest of that awesome cast. Except of course for the awful Alec Baldwin, who happened to play Jack Ryan.
He looked different somehow in El Camino, like the life had been sucked out of him
@Pam, the whole point of Jack Ryan was that he is a lecturer/historian who fell into the spy business. He is not supposed to look tough.
@.Robert - thank you! If anyone has read the Jack Ryan books, John Krasinksy actually fits the role nicely. That said I don't think this is him. Jack Ryan S2 did well in the ratings.
I haven't seen it, but given the "turn to rust" clue, El Camino/Aaron Paul seems like a fit.
+1 Vita, I was just going to say that rust must be a clue.
Aaron Paul is played out, he's lost his fire. He even looks bored in the Westworld trailers.
I guess I was used to Harrison Ford playing Jack Ryan. No, I have never read the books, so I learned something today.
Well, here in NYC Krasinsky is pitching for Hyundai. Also saw his comment this week that he would definitely do the Office again. Must be a little low on funds? Weird given he is married to an A lister.
I fucking hated Aaron Paul in BB and couldn't understand his appeal whatsoever.
Aaron paul is played out because he WAS Jesse Pinkman. He embodied that character. I Don't think he isa bad actor but he isn't a great one with universal appeal either. Also Krasinksi should be fielding directing gigs, shouldn't he? A QUIET PLACE was a big hit and he directed/starred in it (did he write it too) so he should be getting behind the cam gigs. Personally I like him. Like I think he'd enjoy hanging with him AND he was good in THE OFFICE and a talent doing that horror film BUT.. he also isn't hugely versatile. Kinda the likable guy best friend in rom-coms. Emily I think can transcend genres, looks, be a good actress AND do comedy. She just has that appeal and face.
Danny Masterson, co-creator of the Ranch which was the longest running show on Netflix and could have kept going if it wasn't for his controversy and having to be fired. Maybe he was trying to offer a lot of money to get a new show.
It's funny that with all your claimed knowledge about the entertainment industry, you don't remember that John Krasinski cowrote and directed A Quiet Place, which was a huge hit at the box office ($340M worldwide for a $17M budget) and is writing and directing the sequel all alone.
He could definitely have a career as a director of genre movies, and the sequel comes in less than a month.
obviously not krasinski, because duh. doubt it's aaron paul either (successful run on bojack, star of the new season of westworld, which is a huge show, el camino wasn't a streaming show etc). can't think of a streaming show that was a potential goldmine tbh? giovanni ribisi with sneaky pete? i loved the first season of that but didn't get into the second and i think it had low ratings?
The Ranch/Kutcher and Masterson? IDK....
Omg I couldn't stand that motnerfucker either I HATED him so much I stopped watching!
