Today's Blind Items - A Family Crime Part 2 - The Remake That Wasn't
Due to its subject matter, the remake attracted the attention of this former child actor who, a decade ago, had a major role in one of this infamous disgraced director’s many superhero films. It also attracted the interest of disadvantaged children's foundations interested in funding it.
The studio had bizarre demands if they were to allow the remake. Police couldn’t carry guns, for instance, and no character under any circumstances could tell a lie. It got so absurd the remake was shelved. With the latest developments regarding the studio, however, it appears the remake may be back on.

Shia LaDouche for the ex-teen actor?
Family owned studio - Cinespace?
I think it's Troma
Whose Strings does Scio pull?
Is the director James Gunn?Brendan Belknap was in his SH film “Super” in 2010
Toxic Avenger was turned into a fairly successful musical, I wonder if there is buzz for a movie remake.
What religious org. Has a problem with police guns or the bad guys being liars?
For shits and grins I will say Spielberg ( for digitally removing FBI guns from ET) or the ghost of the sheriff of Mayberry ,the cop without a full-time gun whose deputy has one bullet in his pocket.🤔🤔😝😝😝😝
@Do Tell
Because Troma has a history with removing guns and lies from their scripts?
Anyway, this is an extremely poorly told story.
A film where the company with the video rights reedits the entire thing? It isn't a film, it's a TV film or a direct to video film, and the remake was apparently never seen anyway.
The "infamous disgraced director" would be Bryan Singer (four X-Men entries plus Superman Returns), except that Singer didn't direct a superhero film between 2006 (Superman Returns) and 2014 (X-Men: Days of Future Past).
Could this be the osmonds by some chance? I think they own a studio.
Troma is not family owned.
Wouldn’t family-owned studio be Fox (Murdochs) and recent developments with the studio is that now its part of Disney.
Yeah aren't they Morons...sorry Mormons?
Director - Brian Singer, Former child actor - James Marsden
Davetheslave got it! It's the Goonies.
Since when does anyone named Warner own Warner Bros? If it weren't for old Humphrey Bogart movies, the name would have changed decades ago.
Bryan Singer had no involvement with X-Men: First Class apart from a courtesy producer credit. It was written and directed by Matthew Vaughn.
Vaughn wanted to make a trilogy with the cast of First Class. The sequel would have taken place during the seventies, involving a young Wolverine. And then, Days of Future Past would have put together both casts and timelines as the third part of the trilogy.
Fox was much more interested by Days of Future Past, so he left the project, and Bryan Singer took the opportunity to return.
These guys aren't major, we can say that much. But they are in MAJOR legal trouble right now. Federal legal trouble. Read the first item we wrote.
As for what's being remade? If you're over 30, it's a good bet that someone you know, or perhaps a school you went to, definitely had this movie on VHS.
For anyone who doesn't wanna wade back through a weeks worth of blinds

The remake...
The Sound of Music?
Has been buzzed about several times but never happened.
in any case - the musical family would be The Osmonds - so the Mormon Church?
@MeliticusBee That would be hilarious as the Osmonds are devout Mormons and the Von Trapp Family were devout Roman Catholics.
Trininty Broadcast Network, maybe Kirk Cameron for actor?
The Sound of Music remade with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. You know somebody's pitched it! Angelina Jolie as the Baroness and Bette Midler as Mother Superior. Ugh. Justin Bieber as the NZword boy lol. It's actually starting to soubd pretty good.
he was — and still is — so powerful he could ruin careers
Corey said, ‘No one would ever believe me!
this person would use his star power to intimidate, threaten, and muzzle those around him.”
a household name
revered by millions around the globe
family-man facade
an evil monster
an extraordinarily twisted double-life.
the “kingpin” of a child sex ring
has children of his own
would be one of the biggest scandals in America’s history
Steven Speilberg
Martin Sheen
Hey Intercerebellar: Any more hints? This one's been haunting me. I spent way too much time on IMDB Pro trying to uncover it, but coming up blank.
