Cary Grant for the actor?
Clark Gable for the he actor
I meant clark Grable-Gone with the wind
Claudette Colbert?
Garbo/Gable
Greer Garson
born in France/two marriages /several awards
Garbo was never married
It's kind of sad to think...
Gone with the wind gal
Colbert has a quite a few women on her "who's dated who" page
Also Colbert starred with Gable in the classic It Happened One Night
The Claudette Colbert guess seems likely, + Tricia13.
Definitely +1
This is rather sad
Colbert seems to fit. https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2010/04/a-perfect-star-199801
Maybe She was bisexual
I love It Happened One Night! I think I saw that TCM is showing it soon.
I love to read these stories of the Old Hollywood crowd.
Hatharine Hepburn. Katharine was just the stage name.
A friend worked in France for the state dept post WW II told me she met Marlene Dietrich at gov't functions several times and it was widely known she was bisexual.
Jed's Friend: Dietrich slept with almost every male that she met, John Wayne, Jimmy Steward, George Patton, Slim Jim Gavin, and Gary Cooper.
The story is that she asked Cooper if he wanted to have sex with her, and he said "Yep."
The only thing that came to mind is MASH for the war time period piece...bwahahahahahahahahaha. I suck, but appreciate y'all guessing to keep me interested :)
Gordon-- That made me guffaw!😂
Vivienne Leigh? Oooo intriguing guess Indie.
Colbert sounds right TR
The hitchhiking scene in “It Happened One Night” with Claudette Colbert & Clark Gable is amazing! If you need a smile, or are just curious, it’s definitely worth a peek.
Claudette Colbert had a female partner when she died.
Claudette colbert was the first one that came to my mind.
It's not uncommon for previously married older women to play for the home team after they've had male relationships. Women get to an age where they don't want to take care of needy man-boys. And, most men are pretty damn needy/self-involved/bossy and/or are emotionally somewhere between 8 and 13 years of age. Truth.
Marilyn Monroe
Claudette Colbert and Jennifer Jones were both in a WWII film called “Since you went away”.
Greer Garson was born in London.
Thought it has been fairly well-known that Colbert was at least bisexual.
Hilarious
According to a medically trained relative who used to party in those circles, Vivien Leigh was Bipolar and incredibly hypersexual in her manic phases. It caused major problems for Lawrence Olivier, who adored her.
TBH, i don't think Marlene Dietrich, or Clatk Gable, or Cary Grant, or Katherine Hepburn or Vivienne Leigh could be considered jus" A List"..if anything, they are PERMANENT A List
I think Claudette Colbert:she was big, at times, but not like Hepburn, or Dietrich
Gsa Gsa Gabor
