Gere's character was a corporate raider, not a banker. Like Romney. Gobble up companies then dismantle them for profit. It didn't glorify people like that.<br /><br />I'm sure he'd rather be most known for something besides a vapid romcom, but w/e. Dude, it's a job that pays an obscene amount of money. I read that Vivian was originally supposed to die and PW was a big ol' tragedy instead of a romantic comedy, but focus groups hated it or whatever. <br /><br />I know how Pretty Woman glamorizes prostitution, and how most hookers don't resemble a 22 year-old Julia Roberts, blah blah blah, but I honestly don't hate it.
