Neil Patrick Harris Was Fourth Choice To Host Oscars

Who says that if you are not on the medal stand you don't come out as a winner. Neil Patrick Harris was not in the top three choices to host the Academy Awards, but he came out a winner. The producers of the show wanted Ellen again. Meh. It is a nice safe choice and I think they should come back to her at some point in the future. Chris Rock was the second choice and I think he is the greatest stand up comedian alive right now which is exactly why I wouldn't want him hosting the Oscars. I don't need him to have tone down who he is or what he does and I think he would have to which is probably why he turned the producers down. Now, the next name they went after is one I can totally get behind. They went after Julia Louis Dreyfus. She would have been amazing. A little edgy and someone everyone loves and knows and can do sketches and everything you need to do in a show like this, but she also said no. So, finally they asked NPH who said yes very quickly and is a great choice. Should he have been the fourth choice though?

Phaedra Parks On Ellen Today

Phaedra Parks is on Ellen today and I think Ellen was hoping for more than she got from the RH-ATL star. Phaedra spun some story about how she just got her fifth college degree while breastfeeding her two kids until three months ago and working full-time at her law practice and shooting Real Housewives so had no idea that Appolo was doing anything wrong until he told her he had been arrested. Later this month Phaedra has to sit for a deposition and answer some of the same questions she answered on Ellen. The only difference is she will be under oath. She had to know. Her husband had no job and suddenly was flush with cash to the tune of millions of dollars and she didn't notice or ask where it came from? She told Ellen she is really smart, but she sure didn't act like it if she didn't see what he was doing.

Portia De Rossi Recorded Fights With Ellen

A new report from In Touch claims that Portia De Rossi managed to secretly record fights she had with Ellen while both were drunk. Apparently Portia was planning on using them to show the world that Ellen is not the sweet person she pretends to be for the public and that it would expose Ellen for who she really is. At some point Ellen became aware of the existence of the recordings and searched through Portia's e-mail and phone to make sure she had not sent the videos to anyone. It was shortly after Ellen learned of the recordings that Portia checked herself into rehab. Can you imagine if recordings like this did show up in public? Think about what happened to Mel Gibson's career? Ellen would turn off all of her fans. They would be some of the most watched videos ever.

Portia De Rossi Spent May In Rehab

According to In Touch, Portia De Rossi checked into Passages in Malibu in the early part of May and stayed there for 30 days to get a handle on her drug and alcohol problem. Apparently Portia blamed Ellen for her substance abuse because Ellen is so controlling and that prior to heading into rehab, Portia wanted a divorce. The article goes on to say that Ellen visited Portia every weekend and that they are trying to work on making their marriage stronger. There have been rumors of a split for the past year, so this marriage might be on its last legs, rehab or not. I am glad Portia got some help though.
