Tina Turner Says She Didn't Have A Stroke

Yesterday, several European news organizations posted a story that Tina Turner had suffered a stroke. Specifically, one news organization even had a quote from her long time driver who said that Tina suffered a stroke back in February but was healing. He made it sound especially bad because he said that only recently Tina was able to finally smile again at her husband. Considering the stroke happened in February, that would mean a very slow recovery. Tina's reps denied the story and say she is in excellent health. They also said she doesn't have a driver. Apparently Tina was spotted at a party for her new album last week in Zurich so you would think that the sites would have known that and held back.

Tina Turner Is Getting Married

Back in 1987, the 47 year old Tina Turner started dating a 31 year old record executive from her label. 26 years later, the couple are getting married. Next week, Tina Turner and Erwin Bach will marry in Switzerland. recently Tina became a citizen of Switzerland where she has lived since 1995. I wonder if this marriage will change anything between the pair. They have been going great for over a quarter of a century so now that they make it official, I do wonder if in the next year or two they might get divorced. I don't want that for them, but I do find it interesting they have decided to formalize everything now.

Tina Turner Is Turning Her Back On America

Tina Turner is renouncing her US citizenship and becoming Swiss. On Friday I Tweeted that as part of the process, a newspaper in Switzerland had published the official notice that Tina had been approved for Swiss citizenship. She has been living in the country since the mid 90's but it still sucks that she has decided she would rather be Swiss. She is an American legend and icon and grew up here and became famous here so it just seems strange that she will no longer actually be American.
