What A+ list movie actor decided to handle negotiations directly for his B list movie actress wife. The result? She was passed over for someone who made far fewer demands which makes her actor husband ecstatic. He does not want her working at all. He wants her available to him at all times. The only way she will work is if it suits his needs and fits his time schedule. He just has not told her that though.

DeleteBlake has to have known this going in. She sold herself to him as hot actress who bakes. We all saw her as sifting flour in the kitchen wearing nothing but an apron and heels. She wanted him and played it perfectly, selling herself as the counterpoint to Scarlett's career pursuits.

ReplyDeleteHow does any source know such intricate details about the inner workings of a personal relationship, more apparently than even Blake knows? Ryan may have blown one opportunity for Blake and discovered he not a manager in the process, but that doesn't automatically make him a Svengali. I'm reserving judgement on this one.

Perhaps her goal was to be a happy homemaker. She can't act, but is certainly interesting to look at for reasons I can't quite fathom. Maybe it's the lean, long-legged tan blonde (Farrah Fawcett) thingy.

ReplyDeleteOkay, kidding about the naked part but she posed in so many baked goods photos with a wedding announcement shortly after that that's how we all saw it. We know Ryan did not like Scarlett's ambivalence about marriage ad Blake went out of her way to show she had no problem showing a domestic side. How many early 20's actresses have you seen who promote their love of baking?! While also being seeing schtupping Leo? I give Blake credit for her PR efforts if nothing else.
Blake strikes me as ambitious. Did whatever it took with Penn Badgley and Ben Affleck. Courted Harvey Weinstein. She is young enough that she could have kids and come back.

C'mon, no one is controlled unless they allow themselves to be. She made her bed and she has the resources and the where with all to get out of the relationship if that's what she wants.
ReplyDeleteTypical. I have never found anything remotely interesting or appealing about him. Never could 'get' the hype. Now I know why. I am glad Scarlett got from under his thumb. He wanted a house mouse and she threw up the deuces. Blake will get sick of it. They always do. She sold this Betty homemaker routine to get a ring but I think if the right role came along, she wouldn't let him hold her back.

ReplyDeleteWhat I think Ryan doesn't know is that the li'l ol' missus image fits right in with Blake's plans as well. She's been trying to change her image since Leo (and the camphone nudes), so she's probably very okay with him "handling" her career (or lack of one) for now. I expect Blake to play the low profile, domesticated type for a while (as long as Ryan's paychecks are capable of keeping them comfortable of course). But unfortunately, I don't expect Blake to disappear. She'll be back, in a different incarnation (think a la Goop), soon enough.
