A Blind Item From Cybill Shepherd

Juju was kind enough to pass this along and if anyone can figure this out, it is the readers of this site. Juju guessed Peter Bogdanovich and that guess is pretty good.

Actress Cybill Shepherd has revealed she was once sexually assaulted by a famous actor when she attempted to cool their relationship. The former Moonlighting star plays the mother of a rape victim in new TV movie Open Window and admits she used her own experiences to prepare for the harrowing role. Speaking for the first time about her own ordeal on U.S. TV show Entertainment Tonight, Shepherd reveals her ex turned nasty when she told him she wanted to date other people. She recalls, "He jerked the necklace off of me and he threw me around the kitchen. He said to me, 'Don't even think of getting the keys to your car, because I have them, and you're not getting them to be able to get away.'" The unnamed actor demanded sex and Shepherd was terrified as he pinned her down. Eventually she wriggled free and ran to get help. She adds, "That changes your life forever. It takes awhile to trust men again. It takes awhile to trust yourself again. You wonder, 'How could I end up with someone who seems perfectly OK... to suddenly be demanding sex." Shepherd admits she never had the courage to report the incident, and years later received an offer to work with her attacker. She explains, "I said, 'I don't think so.'"

I don't think that it is Peter Bogdanovich because she did work with him again after their relationship was over, right? Didn't she do the sequel to The Last Picture Show? Did he not direct that one? I can't remember the name of it.

It can't be Bogdanovich because even though he did have a small role in "The Sopranos"--he's known primarily as a director. Plus, Cybill and him are on good terms--and have remained friends. And this is NOT his style at all--he's not a violent person: remember his girlfriend Dorothy Stratten was brutally raped and murdered by her estranged husband when Dorothy was with Bogdanovich. He even wrote a book about it.

I can't imagine him pulling the same moves on Cybill.

It's not necessarily an actor she worked with. And forget Bruce Willis - she hated him.

  9. Peter did act in many movies as well as direct. He did direct her in Texasville in 1990, but I wonder when this went down. But she did openly date Elvis...can he be ruled out?

Elvis wasn't considered an "actor". I think you have to rule him out.

Twisted Sister, Elvis had a dozen or so movies...so I think that would make him of actor status.
    Just sayin.

I know, I just don't think they would refer to him as an actor - but then again - maybe actor/singer or singer would be too obvious.

    NOT Bogdanovich. Totally Ryan O'Neil.

Cybill could kick Ryan O'Neil's ass!

Ryan O'Neill used to box, so I don't think so.

THEY didn't refer to the "actor" as an actor...Cybil did. Perhaps she was trying to be generic, and not give too much info. So, if it were Elivs or Peter B. she would technically be correct in calling either of them an "actor"

  24. I doubt Bogdonovich and his little glasses could take down Cybill. O'neal- I could see. Plus, with his substance abuse problems in the past, and tumultous history- I'd bet on him...

Hey All, Juju here. As I wrote in my email to Ent, Bog was the only guy that I remembered her being with, but I don't think it was him. Her imdb profile mentions her with Elvis, and that's it. Brando thought she had a nice rear but he was a slut anyway.
O'Neal's a great guess. Sure, the substance abuse, but I think it's pretty well known that he's abusive/controlling with his family, and I see this as the major reason his career went down the toilet. Scary guy.
