Today's Blind Items

So other than a Fatal Attraction type situation, what is the worst thing that can happen to a guy when he's having an affair? I am probably not the right guy to ask since I couldn't get sex inside 6 marriages so you know that no one is giving it to me outside of marriage.

How about if you are a very big star. Very recognizable. A list. In fact A+ list actor. Huge films, huge star, and very married. How about if you are having an affair. Maybe you go over to her place or you meet somewhere, and people never see you together so it's good. So what happens when she gets a little antsy and wants to go to dinner with our huge comic actor. He says fine, but not in LA. So maybe they take a little drive out towards Santa Barbara. Things are good. They eat, she's happy, and they come back. Maybe on the way back they get into an accident. A bad accident. Our actor and date aren't hurt, but the other driver is very badly shaken up and when he recognizes the actor, here comes the pain. With the pain comes the ambulance and the policeman who starts taking names and witness names and who was in each vehicle. Now what if our actor had told the Mrs. that he was going to play some poker with some friends over in Silverlake, not all the way out here in Santa Barbara. The accident is easy to explain. The location, the ticket our actor received and the police report with passenger name. Big trouble. So far the actor has kept it secret but it has only been four days. Four very long days. Let's see how much longer this will stay a secret.

  1. What about Robin Williams? Wasn't he a popular guess on that Blind about an actor being visibly less hairy for his 20 year old girlfriend?

    robin williams isn't
    steve carrel is married

    those are my guesses

  3. i think billy crystal lives in new york. i was leaning towards will ferrell but now i think ben stiller is a really good guess.

  4. Will Smith?
    Adam Sandler?

  5. Well who of all the above names listed plays poker? Isn't Ben Stiller filming a movie right now?

    ReplyDelete
  6. A+...Comic..

Hanks or Williams? I guess Tom isn't so much a comic anymore, so I'll go with Williams.

    ReplyDelete
  7. What about Seinfeld? Does he still live in NYC?

    ReplyDelete
  8. "Huge" is mentioned a few times, leading up to "Big" at the end. Going with Hanks.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Seinfeld isn't a film actor, and I can't believe Robin Williams is still A+.
Hanks isn't primarily a comic actor anymore. Though he IS very married and Ent has been hinting around about a beloved star who's not as squeaky as we think...

  10. Robin Williams is in the bay area and his wife never lets him alone, even to pee.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Zandra - think that's cuz his current wife met him while she worked as a nanny for him and the former wife. Why the hell would she ever trust him?

I hate that Tom Hanks is fast approaching "asshole status" based on his constantly being guessed in Blind Items.

I've never heard anything REAL to indicate he is anything other than a nice guy and a decent husband.

  12. I really like the Will Smith guess.

    ReplyDelete
  13. This has got to be Michael Douglas, and he will shell out some serious bucks if the story comes out.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Wouldn't the police report be public? So that it would only be a matter of time before it ends up on TMZ or TSG or whatever?

  16. Yabbut Will Smith is Bi & so is Jada, so theyre both VERY aware of each others extra-cirricular activities

    ReplyDelete
  17. Kelly,

Tom Hanks admittedly had an affair on his first wife (who has since passed away)with his current wife, so I really wouldn't put cheating past him. Once a cheat, always a cheat, in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Robin Williams is married.
Michael Douglas isn't a comic, no matter how funny his plastic surgery makes him look.
    I wouldn't call Tom Hanks a comic.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the word huge was the movie Elf.

It's either Will Smith (and Jada couldn't care less) or Will Ferrell. I hate to say it, but I think it's Will Ferrell.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm going with any of the following:

    Will Ferrell
    Will Smith

But I think it sounds like something that would happen to Ben Stiller! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oops...really like the Steve Carrel guess, but not sure if he is quite A+ just yet.

Ben Stiller truly is one of the most bankable stars as is Will Farrel. I think it's a toss up between them.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Is "antsy" a clue? Dan Akroyd was in "Antz." I don't think he would be considered a huge A+ list actor, though...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Dan Aykroyd, I mean.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The only name listed I would consider A+ and "huge" would be Tom Hanks. He's not exclusively a comedic actor but those are his best known roles. Robin Williams, Steve Carrell, Will Ferrel and Will Smith might do well box office wise but no way are they A+. Williams hasn't even had a decent movie, much less a hit, in years.

Disappointing if it is Tom Hanks; I would have thought better of him, but from all of the BI where he is everyone's first guess I guess he's pretty sketchy these days.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Reese, if you look at the definitions EL posted at one point, I think the Will's are A-list, not B-list. And remember that Will Smith is one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood.

Ben Stiller is another good guess.

    ReplyDelete
  25. OK, I am getting on the Robin Williams boat - notice ENT said with our "huge COMIC actor" - Robin Williams was a comic prior to getting into films, and he IS married.

Tom Hanks hasn't done comedy in years, and neither has Will Smith. Will Ferrell is another guess, I would not call him "A+" though.

I would call Williams A+ - he's got an instantly recognizable name, plus he's won an Oscar, and had 39 other awards and 46 nominations - not too shabby.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Definitely Adam Sandler.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Twisted, I'd agree that some of the guesses are A-list, but not A+. I think there are very few A+ people in Hollywood, and "the Wills" just aren't there. I base that more on having a distinguished career than just on box office receipts, so you could be right.

This is one BI I am very much looking forward to seeing revealed. If this guy, whoever he is, is this scummy, he totally deserves to have it all blow up in his face. If this happened within Santa Barbara city limits (my home town) and the actor dealt with the local police instead of the CHP or County Sheriff's Deputies, it should come out soon. The city police are very conservative and not afraid to name names (but the local newspaper won't print them).

    ReplyDelete
  28. Reese, if it even IS revealed, you know? I'm sure I'll be disappointed, no matter who it is.

Captivagirl, that would really suck if it was Steve Martin. He just got married a couple of months ago.

    ReplyDelete
  29. twis- i agree, and i love steve martin...

  30. I thing Ent's use of the words "comic actor". Means he is mostly know for those kind of parts. While Will Smith is definetly A+ list (very bankable, very recognizable, very famous, very well liked) I don't see this being a big deal from the stuff we've heard about him and Jada. Plus, he isn't just a comic actor, iom. He is very diverse these days. i am going with adam sandler and Will farell. Both A+ list, both comic actors, and both very married.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I am shocked that someone would think that Will Smith isn't A list...he is one of the highest paid actors around, and his movies are constantly money makers...

Adam Sandler is also one of the highest paid, and his movies are among the highest grossing.

Won't believe it of Will Ferrell...from all accounts, he is very family oriented...does not get caught up in the whole scene...and his wife just had a baby not too long ago.

    ReplyDelete
  32. My mind went immediately to Ben Stiller. He fits the description to a tee. In EVERY way. Except I think he's been in Hawaii doing Tropic Thunder.

BUT then I remembered he is back over here in LA for the past week or so doing press for the Heartbreak Kid so it very likely could be him if it was 4 days ago. He was definitely here in LA in that time frame.

Will Ferrell is a decent guess but the VERY married goes to Ben. Christine Taylor is hanging all over him at every public appearance he does. And she has ever since they got married, you rarely see him at a public appearance without her. She/they make it a very big point that he's obviously married. I couldn't pick out Will's wife from a police lineup.

No fear folks, I have friends at TMZ and sent them this item. They'll crack this within 24 hours.

    ReplyDelete
  33. hmmm, this one is hard. I've been researching it all day and haven't found anything. Have there ever been rumors of Ben cheating on Christine Taylor?

I guess I'm hopping on the Stiller train!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm going with Adam Sandler.

He was on SNL long before going into film, and try to remember one of his films not bringing in big $$. He plays poker, he's married.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Actaully..Adam Sandler fits more with the poker game excuse.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The Sandler guess is genius and im going with that. Comic actor, highly recognisable, very married.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm gonna recant the Stiller guess, one my friends was an extra in one of his upcoming films for a month straight and he claims that Stiller practically ignored all the women on the set.
Adam does play poker..it seems like he's a good fit.

  38. this is really interesting!!

what other BI's has Tom Hanks been the purported subject of?? Damn, i knew my 3month vacation to see my mum (with NO internet) would throw me around... just glad i was back for Timmy :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm guessing Jay Leno for this one!

    ReplyDelete
  40. The one clue that throws me off the Hanks guess... is the wording of "huge comic actor". But he did do tons of comic films early on... so it does fit to a degree. And alot of those early comic films were successful. Soooo...

I also think the wording of "very married" as being a long term marriage... 15+ years... with a public wife.

Remember ENT stated he never tells gossip unless he knows it has already made the rounds and can't be tied back to him blabbing it first.

Plus... if TMZ knows about this... it will be splashed all over their site with 24 hours. With pictures. haha!

  41. I am going with Matt Damon, Alist, known to play poker along with Ben, rumor has it he is unhappy in his marriage.

    ReplyDelete
  42. OK, my first thought was Will Smith. Now I'm thinking maybe it is Adam Sandler. That sucks!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I will save Matt Damon from his sham of a marriage!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Tim Allen was in a movie called 'Big Trouble'. Don't know whether he's A list though.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Anonymous11:53 PM

Re "huge comic actor." I'm going on a limb here, but "comic" can also mean that the actor was in a movie based on an American comic, i.e., Batman, Spiderman, Men In Black...

I looked up the full list, which is here.
I try to look for double meanings in the words used in BIs. I'm generally never right - you all are far better at this than I am - but it's worth thinking about. I wondered if "huge comic actor" could be a huge/big character in a comic, like Incredible Hulk, but I don't think the big actors that could be A+ are married. At any rate, it might be worth considering. Just a thought; I'm usually just lurking on these! You all are fantastic at this. :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Jürgen Nation - great catch, I think you are onto something with the comic vs. comedy angle.

    ReplyDelete
  47. emilyr - you are a brave and gracious soul! And if you're not available...

    ReplyDelete
  48. Anyone remember Adam Sandler's cartoon... "8 Crazy Nights"? "Four very long days"....? I'm just saying it instantly reminded me of him. There's something called the "Silverlake card club"- they play every Sunday night it seems. So chances are that this was a fairly regular poker player, not just a guy's night out thing. I thought that Sandler was really big into poker.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Mel Gibson.

    Don´t drink and drive!

    :-)

Ent did not said in the beginning this huge A list comedian/funnyman, he said "in fact A+ actor".

Mel is the A list actor, has the recognition. Made some great movies and some funny too. He got huge, as in gaining weight. Plus the way he handled his well known comments was comic.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Okay, going along with the "huge" and "comic" thing ... how about Mike Myers in Shrek?

Never mind, I guess he's filed for d-i-v-o-r-c-e. I thought I was onto something for a second there... :P

    ReplyDelete
  51. Tim Allen was in Toy Story. He does seem to be pretty successful with those stupid "santa clause" movies. Santa could be considered "big." ;) Also, I get the impression he is an asswipe.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ray Romano ... plays the wooly mammoth in Ice Age. He's also a ... jerk (one swear word per comment section is probably my limit ;) ).

    ReplyDelete
  53. Adam Sandler. Def.

He's totally A+ -- I would risk my $10 to see any movie he stars in because the chances are it will be really funny.

He's done a couple clunkers, but for the most part, he's done absolute classics.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Ooh ... but the double meaning to "comic" (as in comic book) is VERY interesting!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Comic can have more than a double meaning:

    Comic=stand up
    Comic=usually is in comedies
    Comic=animated films?
Comic=super heroes (i.e. Tobey McGuire-he just got married though)

I LOVE the Adam Sandler guess, but have a hard time picturing him running around for this person trying to keep up appearances when his own wife can't seem to make him wear a decent pair of pants out in public. I know he's got money and all, but still can't see women throwing themselves at him!

  56. Whatever the outcome, someone's gonna have some 'splainin to do.....

and probably fork over a lot of cash in the divorce settlement....

(unless they have a really good pre-nup.)

  57. Oh look, a conveniently-timed photo op of family man Adam and his cutie daughter:

    Coincidence?
