Child Actress = Meth Addiction

I think Fergie has lost her mind. In an interview with Marie Claire she tries to explain why she became a meth addict. I don't think she has decided if it was because she used to be on a television show for five minutes when she was a kid or if it is because she is a people pleaser. Why don't you read the quote, and you tell me.

"I was a child actor. I was this spaz kid diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), and I worked all the time. I got on a TV series, Kids Incorporated; I was like a little adult. And years later, because I would try to people-please, I would hold all these feelings in. Then all of a sudden, I just didn't feel creative. And crystal meth came into my life."

What the hell feelings was she holding in? The fact that she was a little adult? She would try and please people and keep what feelings in? I am really confused. Can you imagine what it must be like to live with her? All the meth has knocked some brain cells seriously out of whack. And this is when she is 32. As it is she already looks 45 because of the meth and has the senility of a 70 year old. What the hell do you think she is going to be like in fifteen years when she can't even remember the words to any of her songs and loses her job as a singer at various bowling alley lounges.

Look, she just should have said that she made a bad decision and got hooked. Don't blame it on anything but yourself. For what it is worth, she does come completely clean with this quote about what meth did to her.

"When I had that first hit, I knew I wanted to feel that way every day. I went on a downward spiral. I lost friends and family. Anyone who disagreed with my way of life, I cut them out."

She is being honest there so I don't know why she can't be honest about why she got hooked in the first place. Hey, we can handle it. We won't judge. OK, some of us including myself will judge, but we want to know.

Easy answer, EL: Maybe even SHE doesnt know why she got hooked in the first place. Its not like drug addicts are very honest with themselves.

Speaking of bad habits and judgement: I wanna know why you compulsively shove food in your mouth till you're morbidly obese, not knowing when to stop. Of course, this is based on your own self description of being quite the fatty.

  3. Everyone knows she didn't really do drugs right? People just said it then eventually she thought it was a really good excuse for if anything goes wrong.

    Love her.

  5. I'm putting my chips on this reason: "she has no sense of accountability or responsibility"

Check out her statement: "then crystal meth came into my life"

Oh no, no, no. Sorry sweetnessheart, crystal meth doesn't just "come into your life," you invite it in. You hold the door open for it. You offer it tea and girl scout cookies once it's inside.

She took crystal meth because she is either weak-willed, or she has some kind of emotional/mental disorder. Instead of taking responsibility, and getting herself into therapy to correct/cope with those issues, instead of being accountable for her actions...she instead chooses to say that crystal meth simply "came into her life." Like a bird pooping on her shoulder. Please.

  6. Of course she didn't do drugs. And Ashley Dupre isn't a hooker.

I'm with you, ragdoll...normal, emotionally healthy people dont just up and form a bad drug habit...its always cause and effect, and the way out is to take personal responsibility and get to the root issues of your addiction...it sounds like she hasnt, and thats sad, because that means she's more liable to relapse...

  8. or she doesn't feel the need to explain away every detail of her life, interview or not.

  9. If she doesn't feel the need to do so, she should just say that instead of babbling about losing her creativity - which IS explaining it away.

  10. I think she looks fine. Who know why any of us make stupid choices in our lives? Sh*t happens and hopefully we learn and move on. At least she's been honest about her meth addiction and I give her props for that.

  11. i hear ya but she's not the poster child or representative of meth addiction. her journey isn't like most meth addicts out there so looking for the deep rooted cause for all of it isn't going to help us solve the problem.

let's not forget, she lost a lot fo brain cells. this might be the best she can do. really.

  12. Jax:

Pink, striped, seersucker shortie overalls paired with what appears to be a linen napkin tied around her boobs/upper arms....

Yep. I'd have to concur with your assessment re: her loss of COPIOUS amounts of brain cellies

    ;)

People that do drugs always have a lame excuse as to why they started using it.

  14. I would like to the next time she does an interview about how she "used to do meth" the interviewer give her a random, live drug test for which she is totally unprepared.

    That would be cool.

  15. lol Ragdoll..we should random test anyone on the street wearing seersucker, period.

  16. uhhh I thought Meth brought on acute psychosis, paranoia, and a bunch of other things that prevent someone from being creative.

I might believe her if she was talking about weed, but meth? Nope.

  17. Ent, you are waaaay too hard on her. She hasn't hurt anyone, she has a fiance who is sticking by her and she is sponsoring a foundation for young women who are addicted. What is your problem?

Now - if you want to rag on her horrific choice in clothing I totally understand...

  20. Wait a sec. You are all the same commenters who referred to Heath Ledger as such a tragic figure, who was a helpless victim and such a devoted dad as he snorted coke and ate pills like they were m&ms until it killed him? Why is Fergie such a terrible person and Heath such a blameless angel? Interesting.
