Great Eyesight Everyone

Yesterday in Random Photos I posted the photo above. Everyone recognized Jason Lewis and then lots of you recognized Curt Smith, including Curt Smith himself. So after a few back and forth e-mails, it was agreed that I would post the photo back up again and the cover art to his new CD which is coming out next week. If you want to visit Curt's website, click here.In return, if and when he has a CD release party, all of you are invited. Of course you have to come to LA, but hey, still invited. Also, if he goes on tour, I will let you know. In the meantime, in case you are saying to yourself, who the f**k is Curt Smith, maybe the video below will help you remember. I didn't go for the obvious choice. I instead went for the great song with the cheesy of cheesiest videos.

Wow... never would've matched those two people up.

Funny that Curt Smith reads the blog. :)

And I will never complain about seeing Jason Lewis on this blog.

  4. I love Tears for Fears (although I have to admit, I always thought Roland was more talented). Sorry, Curt.

  6. I thought I recognized the guy...TFF are responsible for some of the best pop tunes ever written. I can't see that video but if it's "Head Over Heels" then...awesome. I LOVE that song.

  7. shit i thought that was him yesterday and was like how random.
Songs from the Big Chair was the first 'tape' i ever had. ah the 80's.

Although my crush was on Roland you were never an Andrew Ridgely to me Curt. great to see you still around.

  8. What? Who wouldn't know Curt and Tears for Fears? Their music was one of my favorite mixes of pop and serious topics. I listen to The Working Hour obsessively to this day.

  10. Wow! I remember buying that album over the summer when it 1st came out, & when I got back to college, my roommate almost knocked me over telling me she just bought this great album I would LOVE--we both pulled out the same cover. I still listen to it.

  15. OMG, I totally didn't recognize him without the mop of hair... Bought the latest Tears for Fears album (they got back together for a minute), pretty decent.

  16. Wow...I loved them too, although I was more of a Rolie fan at the time. He looks nowhere near as good as Curt does today, btw.

I was just SO disappointed in them when I read this interview where one of them said something to the effect that they had an "understanding" with their wives that when they were out touring, they were allowed to be with other women and it wasn't cheating because their wives weren't around. I remember thinking that was BS then, and I still think so today. No idea if either of them is (still?) married. Ah well, it WAS the '80s, I guess.

  19. Well, I always liked Curt over Roland... it's his voice, I think. Huge TFF fan when I was young, even ended up writing letters under the pseudonym of one of Curt's cat while my pen pal called herself Roland's Golden Earring. Man, that was a while ago.

  20. I knew it!
Tears for Fears were the first concert I ever went to when I was about 11. Had the poster up on my wall and everything. Sorry I spelt your name wrong yesterday Curt!

  21. Oh, man. That's it. I'm old.
In L.A., but just too old. My era was the 2nd Brit invasion and Woodstock. Good luck, Curt.

  22. any video with librarians, chimps, and strangely hot musicians is a winner! you picked good ent!

  23. That was an awesome video, with Roland showing he can act, Manny inexplicably dressed as a Rabbi, Ian catching the book after two botched attempts, Nicky in that weird granny dress, and Curt kissing the chimp. I always loved that Roland and the librarian ended up together! It was one of the few "story" videos that was out at that time.

  24. OMG I was listening to "Head Over Heels" in the car the other day (I have their greatest hits CD). I'm totally buying this CD. Miss the '80s (the music, not the fashion)! Thanks.

  25. That song gives me chills everytime I hear it; I kid you not. Maybe it's the way he sings it.

I miss the 80's and I never feel old listening to its music. Makes me feel good and young again. It IS funny how time flies, though.

The librarian looks like that reader who sent her photo to Ent. The reader who was in the rain. Cool photo, BTW.
