NY Daily News Blind Item

Which divorcing hubby is now asking for his sparkly engagement ring back? Problem is, he didn't exactly pay for it himself.

  6. Damn, Jax, I just choked on my coffee! LOL.

  7. Certainly it's BGA. They got the ring from Jacob the Jeweler (I remember saying out loud when I read it at the time -- "They overpaid, even if they got a discount.")

Since Star choreographed everything else about the "engagement" (he'd actually proposed at Xmas time and they staged the "ask" at the NBA All Star Game in January),it's safe to assume that altho Jacob would never give them a freebie, she might have gotten a decent discount - well, off of his list price, anyway. And that the bill went on her AMEX card because Al didn't happen to have his with him. Maybe Al had given Jacob the deposit.

  8. I figure BGA's line of thought is:
I paid the deposit, she paid the balance on her AMEX card after the wedding the following November; therefore per the prenup the funds came out of our common assets and I should get the ring.

Well, it's no loonier than anything else connected with this marriage.

  9. Once you're married doesn't the woman get to keep the ring, anyway? I thought it was only if you didn't get married that the woman had to return the ring. Or do I have my traditions mixed up?

Al is redefining what it means to be a gold digger, damn.

  10. Big Gay Al.

He's about 3,000 short of becoming Big Gay Alberta

  11. I am stunned to know that Starr paid for anything for that wedding... including rings... haha! But there is no way in h*ll that she overpaid for that ring. She named dropped that jeweler a thousand times... so I expect she got a hefty discount.

Yet, I agree with the guess of BGA.

  12. Didn't Star get almost everything free or dicounted because she name-dropped on The View? So, if ANYONE should get the ring, shouldn't it be Barbra Walters? Because if not for The View, Star would have never become a household name, never hooked up with BGA in the first place, and never been able to have that big, gaudy wedding.
You know what I think this is about? I don't think BGA is gay, but a chubby chaser!!! Notice, he got with Star before gastric bypass? And now that she's itty-bitty, he's gone? There are some men in the world like that. Maybe she should have stayed big.

  14. Bottom line, all bets are off when a marriage happens in regards to the ring. Unless, it is a family heirloom. Then there is usually a return of the ring to stay in the family and compensation can be made. Definitely BGA. However, I can't imagine how in his right mind he thinks he is owed this ring. However, he may have talked with Nick Cannon and has been informed it can be recycled.

  15. Come on, Monalicious.

Big Gay Al is gayer than a Prada purse on a spring day.

It doesn't matter if Starzilla's fat or thin, he wasn't there for the long haul. He still had his boys on the side.
