Bye Bye Pushing Daisies

I know how many of you enjoy this show, but I'm sad to tell you that after the 13 episodes ordered for this year have been aired, the show will be saying so long. I guess if there was some kind of huge ratings swing then somehow it might be saved, but it is not going to be saved by a letter writing campaign. ABC loves the show but hates the ratings.

My favourite new show of the entire season... Those boneheads in programming didn't promote it very well and are now chopping it? Keep the show, fire the dickwads who didn't do their job.

I hope another network picks it up pronto.

I bet if they had a good lead-in show it would do better. The problem is that it's a little to quirky to get a good feel for it in a 30 second ad.

Ratings show that Private Practice gets significantly higher ratings that airs right after it. However D$M which runs afterwards doesn't have much of an advantage over PD.

And nothing's certain yet. I don't think that ABC has anything to fill the slot, really. It'd require a major reshuffle.

Bryan Fuller must be shaking in his sequined boots. This is his 3rd series that hasn't been a success. He really needed this, and by all accounts he's a nice guy. (Who's very creative: Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me are his other two 'fails')

  8. ARGH!!!! I absolutely LOVE this show, it's one of the best out there. Even kids can watch it. Stupid ABC...they cancel everything good. It won't be long before network TV is nothing but reality and medical shows. Blech.

  9. mooshki, I´ve been told to watch it, but never really got a chance to do it, I don´t know why!

I kinda feel sorry for Bryan Fuller, his series always seem to not please the audience, thought they are very intelligent and witty...

  10. I think it's what DN said - his shows can't be summed up in a sound bite. It's the "feel" and the dialogue that makes them so special.

  11. According to Spoiler TV, the rumor that has been going around about Pushing Daises being cancelled is not true. Read here:

  13. If I had the money and the power, I would hire Bryan Fuller full-time and create my own TV channel so people can enjoy his creations without having to worry about cancellations... this is the (*&#$#$(*& third time I have to go through this.

  26. okay, i'm still trying to get my "land legs" back, but did somebody just say that we were finally going to see the last bit of "dead like me"?
i mean, how pissy can you be, to take a great show off the air that already has a season IN THE CAN??

and, yes, i'm pissed about pushing daisies, too.
come to think about it, i'm pissed about a lot of stuff.
