Today's Blind Items

Think Jessica Simpson and Kim Kardashian are the only ones with NFL boyfriends? Well, I think you are forgetting about one very important C+ actor on a hit network drama who leaves his wife and kids every weekend to go cheer on his boyfriend who is on an NFL west coast team.

  1. No idea but this one is good

  2. im thinking someone from Bros and Sis.

Rob Lowe? maybe he's sharing one with the nanny.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I think Rob is a little more deserving than a C+ rating. But other than debunking, I have nothing.

  4. Justin Chambers?

No idea, but this is a great one. "Very important" has got to be a clue.

  5. Justin Chambers?

  6. Rob Estes from the new 90210? or Chace Crawford from Gossip Girl

  7. The actor in question is married with kids.

  8. I typed in actor NFL sidelines into yahoo images and 1 picture came up: Will Smith. I know it doesn't fit at all...just thought it was funny.

    Still thinking about this one...

  9. in the spirit of cdan...

    it's ben affleck! :D

    ReplyDelete
  10. I'm guessing Eric Close. My first thought was Eric Dane, but he doesn't have kids.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Sandler? This is so vague, it's going to take some work!

    ReplyDelete
  12. oh, never mind. I forgot the C list part. damn it.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I like the Eric Close guess. What about Gary Sinise...is he C list?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Peter Krause?
    Kyle Chandler?

Don't know if they are C-list. Just throwing out some names...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Peter Krause is at least B list I thought due to Six feet under.

Kyle Chandler is a good guess

    ReplyDelete
  16. west coast is a good clue...do you think they are filming on the west coast? why would he have to leave if he wasn't

    ReplyDelete
  17. they might just be in not LA, which means San Fran, Seattle, etc. Does Phoenix count as west coast as far as football goes?

    ReplyDelete
  18. please, don't let it be kyle chandler!

    ReplyDelete
  19. gotta go with Justin Chambers

    ReplyDelete
  20. wow. this is a good one. i am a huge football fan so i will be monitoring this one.

i dont have a guess right now. but i cant help but wanna know who the football player is instead of the actor.

also looking forward to tomorrow's Old Hollywood item. I already emailed my team from the Timmy/Shimmy days to get their thinking caps on and get ready to have some fun!

thanks everyone for making my day as always.

  21. Hit Drama Series huh?
Hey Jax -the only other actor on Bros and Sisters married with kids besides Rob Lowe is Balthazar Getty. Wouldn't that be special =)

Justin Chambers would fit the bill. Little above average actor, former male Calvin Klein fashion model and married with 5 kids. Hmmmmm

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm loving the Kyle Chandler guess given his current role :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. I don't know if it'd be possible to figure out the team/player! I guess West coast teams can include San Diego, Oakland, San Fran, & Seattle?...Phoenix and Denver may be a stretch.

I'm a huge football fan too but mine is an east coast team.

This is a good one! :)

If it's Kyle Chandler I'm going to have to take up football. Early Edition was pure crap, but I watched it every week because of him.

No clue though, just here to lust. :)

  25. no idea and i don't understand A list or B+ list or B- list or C+ list or another!how know?what difference between B- and C+?or A- and B+?

    ReplyDelete
  26. OK - What about Mark Harmon?
His IMDB has all kinds of football connections - tons of them.
I don't think he can be higher than C+ at this point - who watched NCIS??

    ReplyDelete
  27. Justin Chambers sounds like a good list. But we need some sideline pics to prove it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Omar Epps of "House".

    Married.

    1 girl. 1 boy.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Enty, I hope this is part of your next BIG reveals ....Thanks again for all that you do

    ReplyDelete
  30. Omar Epps of "House".

    nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hm, well I went surfing for celebrity sports fans and guess who came up? Ice Cube. He's big into the, ahem, Oakland Raiders.

Yikes!!!! That would be a big surprise!

(FYI, for the curious, ESPN says Will Smith is a Philly Eagles fan and Tom Selleck roots for the Detroit Tigers so they're not the answers).

  32. oooh, juicy...but no idea who!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm so sure it's Justin Chambers.

I'm new to leaving comments here. I enjoy reading this blog and all of the guesses from you guys.

    ReplyDelete
  34. what does "very important C+" mean? Very important must mean something...but I have no idea what!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Justin Chambers has to be at least a B-. There is no way he is a C+, plus he just moved his family from NYC. Why would he not leave his wife in NY, and shack up with his boyfriend during the week while she is in NY with the kids?
    ------------------

A longtime New Yorker, he used to travel back and forth from New York to L.A. while his family was still in New York. His wife and children have recently moved to LA with Justin from their New York home.

  37. Christopher Meloni and Rob Estes were in photos yesterday. That's all I got.

    ReplyDelete
  38. What qualifies as a "hit"? Because Friday Night Lights isn't exactly a hit, at least not ratings-wise. And I'd hope Kyle Chandler was at least B list in the television realm--though I guess overall he'd probably be C+.

Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is, please tell me it's not him!

    Or Eric Close.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Arg, then again, FNL is a critical hit. And lots of times when critics love a show, they call it "important"...But no, that's a stretch, right? Besides, I still say Kyle Chandler is B list.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Did you forget about Gisele and Tom?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh I have to know what "NFL Tight End" it is.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anonymous11:21 PM

Jillian, I think Christopher Meloni would be higher than a C+, wouldn't he?
    Good detective work though.

    Yeeeeeessssss!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Chris Meloni is based on the East Coast though.

Why does everyone think it's Justin Chambers? I don't think it's him.

Based on the clue, I would say the show is an actual hit, as opposed to a critical hit. I think Enty would have made the distinction. Also, I would guess it is someone in a supporting role, not a lead (i.e. not Kyle Chandler).

Anyway, I think it's Eric Close. The religious ones are always closet cases.

    ReplyDelete
  45. if the show is a hit, but someone on the show is only a C+ actor, does that mean the show is newer? i thought enty wrote one time that the length of a show impacts how he rates the actors.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think the very important part is a clue. Someone else already said it.

I don't watch drama's on network shows, so I'm not sure, but if any of you follow them closely, think of a C+ celebrity who plays a V.I.P type role. Maybe Las Vegas, shows connected to gambling or Politics.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Q.S. nailed it - definitely Affleck!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Adrian Pasdar has two kids and to me is most defintely a C+. And he used to play football....

But I still like the Justin Chambers guess better :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hmmmmm, must be 2 amster's on here because I did not post both responses.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Absolutely definitely not Kyle Chandler. No one would call FNL a "hit" even if it is a critical favorite. And you can't even call it strictly a "network drama" anymore, due to its sharing arrangement with Direct TV. Besides Kyle Chandler is well-known and recognizable enough at this point to qualify for B status.

  51. Detroit Tigers are baseball. Did you mean the Lions?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Just realized that sounded a bit rude lol. Just thought if he roots for the Tigers in baseball that he could possibly root for a football team somewhere else.

  56. >this is a good one, but how the hell could this be kept secret very long?

remember when the editor of OUT Magazine said he was dating a major league baseball player? No word yet on who that was, so it might stay in the closet a while....

  57. I too am looking forward to another Old Hollywood story -- Timmy/Shimmy had us up in arms the entire summer and I had so much fun with it! I couldn't wait to read all the comments to see what everyone was saying.

I sure miss Twisted Sister, who led the blogger pack last summer on that blind.

    ReplyDelete
  58. The "West Coast Team" is a great clue, because there's on 3-4 of them...poring thru ESPN.com right now...

    ReplyDelete
  59. oh, and could it possibly be someone on the San Francisco 49ers?
    Gay City, America?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Pasdar, Pasdar, Pasdar? How could I forget him. I would definitely be playing for the other team if my spouse was Natalie Maines! Maybe that's why he tolerates her. She's a dweeb and probably never catches on, but doesn't care because he stays with her loud mouth!

    ReplyDelete
  61. that is a juicy one ... no idea ... couple NFL names who come to mind as possibly gay are Jeremy Shockey and Chris Cooley, also maybe TO and Vince Young ... and of course a lot of the WR/DB and QBs can be a bit swishy too, very dramatic and flairish haha ...

    ReplyDelete
  62. hugh laurie? the house guy. in random pics today and says his wife finally decided to move to la but not sure why.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Not sure Hugh Laurie would be c+

    ReplyDelete
  64. oh wait... it said West Coast NFL team ... hmm ... assuming its a "name" player not some anonymous third stringer:

    Matt Leinart
    Ladanian Tomlinson
    JT O'Sullivan
    Alex Smith
    Phillip Rivers
    Vincent Jackson

and also any other WR/DB could be considered

the other guys i mentioned earlier are not west coast playas

    ReplyDelete
  65. Justin chambers didn't just move to LA, he's lived here for years, since Greys started, lives by griffith park. When they say "leaves his family" I took it to mean that he's an east coast guy who is flying out to the west coast all the time...not someone on the west coast.

  66. So, I went to the Nielsen ratings, and pulled up info. about the top 10 shows, and actors who would fit the aforementioned qualifications. Then I tried to dig up what I could from IMDB and Wikipedia:

    Desperate Housewives

    The Mentalist:
    - Simon Baker: First recognized in 1992, when he received Australia's prestigious Logie award for Most Popular New Talent. Upon relocating to Los Angeles with his family, Baker was immediately cast in the Academy Award winning film L.A. Confidential (1997).

    CSI: NY
    - Gary Sinise: Gary is married to Moira Harris, an actress and original member of the Steppenwolf company. They have three children, Sophie, McCanna, and Ella. Why would he be "important?" Important? Of Mice and Men? The Stand? Forrest Gump? Apollo 13? Truman?

Criminal Minds - out, couldn't find anything relevant

    CSI: Miami - out, same.

    House -
    - Omar Epps: Was a back-up dancer for Queen Latifah. Epps married Keisha Spivey from the R&B group Total in 2006. They live in California with daughter K'marie (born in July 2004) and son Amir (born in December 2007).

    - Hugh Laurie: is married and lives in Los Angeles. His wife and three children, who previously lived in London, are moving to Los Angeles to live with him.

    Without a Trace

    - Eric Close: Close graduated with a B.A. in Communications at the University of Southern California in 1989, where he became a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He married his wife Keri in 1995 and has two daughters, Katie and Ella.

    Cold Case

    -Thom Barry: No Info

    Law and Order: SVU

    - Chris Meloni: Meloni and his wife, Doris Sherman Williams (a production designer), have two children via surrogate mother: daughter Sophia Eva Pietra (b. March 23, 2001), and son Dante Amadeo (b. January 2, 2004). He wears a fake tattoo of the U.S. Marine Corps emblem (the eagle, globe, and anchor) on his arm for his role in SVU (as seen in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 8, Episode 8: "Underbelly" and Season 6, Episode 5: "Outcry".) He has a real tattoo of a butterfly on his upper thigh, and a cubist representation of the crucifixion of Christ tattooed on his upper left arm. His first real moment of stardom came in 1998 from his controversial role as bisexual sociopath Chris Keller in the HBO prison drama Oz. The role called for him to passionately kiss and touch other men, frequently display rear and full frontal nudity, and even urinate into a bucket. Meloni's raw magnetism and affable reaction towards the open sexuality of his character earned him press attention, particularly within the gay community, in which he is considered a sex symbol as evidenced by the existence of a number of fan sites. In 1999, he even jokingly kissed his onscreen partner Lee Tergesen (who played Tobias Beecher, Meloni's on screen boyfriend on Oz) at an awards dinner for GLAAD.

    - Ice-T: Ice-T currently resides in North Bergen, New Jersey, with his wife, Nicole Austin.

    Brothers and Sisters

    - Rob Lowe: Lowe is married to Sheryl Berkoff, with whom he has two children, Matthew Edward Lowe (b. Sept 1993), and John Owen Lowe (b. Jan 1995). They live in Montecito, California.

***A lot of these have already been guessed. I didn't bother to do Grey's, because it wasn't in the top 10. Lol. I don't watch the show, so I don't really feel like delving into that one. I'm pretty sure there are some Grey's fans on this blog that could help out.***

I REALLY like the Ice T guess! Definitely C, acting-wise, but wouldn't he have at least B name recognition?
If not Ice T, then I'll jump on the Omar Epps train.

  68. My gaydar isn't infallible, but close to it. And I've been at two recent fundraisers where Justin Chambers was present, and he registered about a negative 2 million on my gayday-o-meter. So I really doubt it is him.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Ok, so I saw the link from Dlisted.com and it peaked my interest.

I did a search on "very important" television series and came up with:

Street Legal represented a very important step in the Canadian television industry. Could that be what C+ means?

Anyway, guess who was one of the stars? David James Elliot

according to wikipedia, he is married with kids.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_James_Elliott

Maybe it's a stretch but a very hot one, IMHO.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Could it be Gary Sinise?
    Could "C+" mean CSINY?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Not every weekend, because there are home games and away games and only a few west coast teams to choose from!
