Today's Blind Items

This B list film actor who has always done films is in the midst of quite the career comeback. However, on the set of his latest film he has reconnected with an old friend from the past. The old friend was his drug dealer who has always been known as the drug dealer to the stars. No, granted, being seen at dinner with the guy does not mean our actor is partaking again of drugs, but why is he even having dinner with him in the first place?

The comeback being that new movie "The Wrestler"

  2. Please don't say RDJ

  3. must be RDJ on Sherlock...sadness

  4. I thought about RDJ as well but was he the answer to the BI about the actor who had a one time binge and hopefully was not going down that path again?

  5. I thought Mickey Rourke as well. RDJ sort of fits as well, except with Iron Man I think he might have gone from B to A again...

    ReplyDelete
  6. I don't think RDJ is B--he also did SNL, which would count as television.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I think RDJ is A- at least now. Mickey Rourke is a great guess. Except I didn't realize he'd ever stopped doing drugs. :)

  8. Dennis Quaid.

    RDJ is A

  9. good points...those a/b/c classifications always get me!

  10. Robert Downey Jr was in the cast of Ally McBeal for nearly a season.

Mickey Rourke isn't in the middle of a career comeback. He has just begun.

adrian - SNL doesn't count as TV. SNL is more like an appearance on Letterman/Leno. I could be wrong, but when Enty talks about "always doing films" I think he means no multi-episode tv series.

And sadly, I'm thinking this is RDJ :(

  12. RDJ was a castmember on SNL not just a guest host.
And as Angela said, he was a major player towards the end of Ally McBeal.

I'm liking Mickey Rourke for this one.

  13. Just because no one has said it yet:

    Affleck.

  14. DNfromMN--RDJ was an SNL castmenber from 1985-1986. That has to count more than a guest appearance--he was on the whole season.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I think the biggest clue is drug dealer to the stars. Was RDJ's dealer known as that?

    ReplyDelete
  16. RDJ is pure A list kids.

    Mickey is a great guess.

  17. i don't know when i think 'comeback',it think RDJ but he's more B actor with franchise movie.
Only it's not the first blind item about drug comeback in his life(duggie actor and his girlfriend for ex)
So,Mickey Rourke is better because he was Sin City(lead actor).

  18. OK-first of all...thanks to many of you for talking me off the ledge on RDJ. I really do not want this to be him.

Mickey Rourke? This latest movie might put him up a couple of notches, but B list even? Isn't he more like C or D?

I do like the Dennis Quaid guess...a LOT!!!

  19. what about mark walberg?

  20. thanks angela, RDJ (my future husband) was on Ally, hence, not RDJ. thank god. don't really care who it is as long as it ISN'T him

  22. Hi Everyone! I recently stumbled onto this website, and let me just say that I absolutely LOVE IT! I must admit I am becoming quite addicted to all the juicy gossip and blind items. However, I do have one question and was hoping someone could fill me in - what's up with Ben Affleck? What is the story (or possibly stories) behind listing him as a blind item???

    ReplyDelete
  23. RDJ definetly. I dont think one movie bumps you to A list.

    ReplyDelete
  24. srd4 - Ben is the answer to all the blinds.

RDJ won an Oscar did he not? A list.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I've read several articles about Mickey's new film and the word "comeback" is mentioned alot. I think it's him, kids.

    ReplyDelete
  26. welcone srd4!
For a while, people were guessing Ben Affleck for any blind out there-- actor, director, writer, A list, B list, married, famous partner, involved in drinking, gambling, drugs--you name it, it was always Ben. So now we try to make him fit, no matter what.

    ReplyDelete
  27. srd4 - it's a running joke, so long running that I can't even really remember where or when it started anymore. But the joke was that no matter what the blind item is, somehow a Ben Affleck guess always fits, so just for fun someone always throws his name into the ring.

George Clooney probably comes a close second to filling that running-joke role, but Ben is best b/c he also has a wife and a kid so he can fit no matter what the relationship status of the BI person is.

This blind? I honestly have no idea, but put me in with the group that just really wants it to not be RDJ even though he definitely makes sense for it. :-(

    ReplyDelete
  28. brendalove, I think he was only nominated for an oscar.

    hi srd4!

  29. PUH - LEEEEZE

RDJ is A list no matter what

    ridiculous

he's also not a complete retard, so I highly doubt he would have a public dinner with a known drug dealer.

if RDJ is back in the hole, he would NOT be public about it

    And he's f'ing A-list am-A-zing, so heck no

    ReplyDelete
  30. I like the Josh Brolin guess.
-he was inNo country old men, now W
in today's photos with Diane Lane

Its not RDJ and here's why
-his acting is praised by everyone in the acting commnity, definitely A list. What actor wouldn't agree that he's a list
    -he's done TV ally mcbeal
-even if he were back on drugs, for the sake of his career he wouldn't be caught out in public with the WELL KNOWN DEALER to the stars; he would sneak by the guy's house so no one would be the wiser. He may be an addict but he's not stupid.

  31. Jinks Dawn,

me and the rest of the CDAN ers are beginning to think alike so much, our cycles r gonna synch up...lol, Guys too

  32. To throw another name out there, what about Christian Slater? It only says he has always done films, it doesn't say that is all he has done.

    ReplyDelete
  33. what about colin hanks for that indie actor blind from awhile back?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Scumkid, I still think that was Michael Pitt...saw a picture of him on PH today, and he looks like he was rode hard and put away wet. If we're thinking of the same blind...the one with the coke nose job, right?

    ReplyDelete
  35. access hollywood just referred to mickey rourke's role in the wrestler as "comeback". I could picture him at dinner with the dealer to the stars and no one would even flinch, lol

    ReplyDelete
  36. i think it might be josh brolin. i hope not.he has always been one of my favorite actors.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hi srd4. Welcome.

RDJ was only nominated and he was out so long he could really be B-list, but with A list name recognition. This would make me the saddest woman on earth if it was RDJ.

If it was Mickey Rourke - would it really be worth a blind?

Christian Slater is a good guess too. Please no RDJ.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sadly sounds very much like RJD. I sincerely hope I am wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Christian Slater is a great guess. Josh Brolin too. Didn't he used to knock Diane Lane around? I swear I read that somewhere. Christian Slater is known for film and is just now going into tv. Mickey Rourke B list? I don't see it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Joeeeeeeeeeeeee heh, how's he doing Ent? Don't laugh too hard. Wanna play six degrees of seperation with him?

    ReplyDelete
  41. first person i thought of was josh brolin, too.

    ReplyDelete
  42. That's what I thought too, Juicy...Farrell.

    ReplyDelete
  43. guys -- if you think mickey is blist i gotta bank to sell ya!!
    it's rdj :(

    ReplyDelete
  44. why is he even having dinner with him in the first place?

Geeze, I dunno...maybe because HE'S A FRIEND? Quit acting all High & Mighty - I'm sure there are people you associate with that you hope never see the light of day Ent...

    ReplyDelete

  46. I like the Josh Brolin-guess too!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Nope to RDJ... A list. Oscar nomination counts for something, and the blockbuster this year. TV with Ally and SNL as a cast member. Not a clue on who it could be, but still looking.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Maybe way out there... Tom Cruise. He has been in Tropic Thunder lately, the first movie I have seen him in in AGES that I liked him and he did a great job...and was strangely attractive too..in a subtle way.
Maybe he was having dinner with him to talk to him about his religion? Plausible.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'll toss Colin Farrell into the mix.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Wait, Christian Slater's doing TV, in My Own Worst Enemy. The blind says the actors always been in films.

    I second Mickey Rourke

    ReplyDelete
  51. I've been following this site (and posting answers once or twice) for a while and I LOVE it!! I am so glad you all pointed out it wasnt RDJ, I just adore him and love every movie he's in. He was the first name that popped into my head.

I have no idea who it is, like the Christian Slater guess..

    ReplyDelete
  52. Christian Slater was the first person i thought about too! That line "has always done movies" for some reason made me think that he isnt anymore! I agree that RDJ has done way to much TV to count. And that song CS was singing on "the actors studio"...

    ReplyDelete
  53. Josh Brolin was in The Young Riders in the late 80's maybe early 90's.

Jason Statham and Vinnie Jones were filmed leaving lunch together in LA recently they have co starred together before, too lazy to see if they are currently co-starring.

    ReplyDelete
  54. dijea is right!!

i.e., if this is Mickey Rourke it's not worth a blind in the slightest.

Call me back when Rourke's guest-starring as Wisteria Lane's Sanitation Engineer and taking turns in the trailer with Marcia Cross and Nicolette Sheridan doing lines off Eva Longoria's "fat-slash-pregnant" belly while Tony plays Madden 2k9 and itches that uncomfortable tattoo or his balls or both.

That said, i like amster's Christian Slater guess. Didn't another blog have something about a Heathers 2 lately?

Colin Farrell seems too out of the spotlight to fit this at all. Where's his comeback? Someone remind me.

Farrell doesn't fit. I go with Slater.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Farrell has also done TV - Ballykissangel.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I don't think RDJ fits (A-, did TV). Also, he's filming in Europe, not LA. Would the dealer to the stars be jetting abroad to fill an order?

Mickey Rourke seems the most obvious guess, so I am inclined to go that way.

Josh Brolin is interesting, but would we call his career a comeback. He was never THAT big to begin with, so I would say he is coming into his own rather than making a comeback.

I don't think Christian Slater is B-list anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Can't be Josh Brolin. His early career is filled with TV

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm going with Mickey Rourke on this one. None of the other guesses seem to fit.

    ReplyDelete
  59. My guess would be Josh Brolin as well. He may have done TV, but it says always done films not only done films...

    ReplyDelete
  60. Tom Cruise has a religion?!?!?! I thought he was just a top member of a giant pyramid scheme.

    ReplyDelete
  61. LOL kristen s!! you hit the nail on the head

    ReplyDelete
  62. just throwing it out there.....Billy Bob Thornton

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm gonna go watch CHAPLIN.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I don't think it's MRourke because this item's written in a way that infers that the actor's clean, which Rourke is obviously not. Just look at the guy. I'd like to know who this dealer is, too.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Billy Bob did TV. He was on Hearts Afire with John Ritter and Markie Post.

Is it sad that I didn't have to look that up?
