Scarlett Shows Her True Colors

It isn't like she has never pulled this diva kind of behavior before, but one could always hope that being a newlywed would have changed Scarlett Johansson. Nope. At the premiere of The Spirit, Scarlett snubbed all the fans that had been waiting as long as 8 hours to see her. Not only didn't she stop and take any photos or or sign any autographs, she instead, pulled a coat over her head so no one would try and talk to her. Of course she still expects these same fans to go shell out $10 a ticket to see the film and make sure she keeps getting paid millions. Umm. Scarlett. You are an actress, not a goddess. I don't know where you got the notion that you are better than everyone else. Just because you were born pretty and someone decided you would look good on film doesn't mean you are better than anyone else.

I can't stand when celebrities act like this. They need to realize that fans are the ones who shell out the bucks which keep the offers rolling in and the paychecks high. Without them, you will be back begging for roles in indies and doing signings at the local Wal-Mart to pay for your botox. To make matters worse, not only did Scarlett snub her fans, but she apparently decided she had better things to do than sit through the film or make the producers happy. She sat in a corner, away from everyone for about 15 minutes and then just walked out so she could go to a party George Clooney was throwing.

  1. To be fair, I would leave a screening early to go to a party George Clooney was throwing! Actually, there are quite a few things I would do.

Blech. I have never understood the Scarlett Johansson appeal. At all. She's all right looking I guess, but has absolutely no personality both in real life and on film. She's either been screwing the right people or shelling out plenty to get where she is, b/c she sure didn't get there based on talent!

  3. According to the papers here, they all left the screening early.

  4. This one is a no-brainer for me.

I don't shell out ANY bucks, ANYTIME, for ANY movies, period.

  5. she's not only just an actress, she's not one of the better ones, in my opinion.

twunty, i see what you mean, but the party wouldn't be over in an hour and she could have given her fans that much time. there's no excuse for this.

  6. I hate, hate going to the movies. The last movie that I actually paid money to go see instead rent thru netflix was "Signs" will Mel Gibson in 2002, and before that was "Dante's Peak" in 1997. So they clearly are not making any money off of me and I can live with that. I just have better things I would rather spend my money on. I can wait till it comes on dvd if there is something I really want to see.

  7. Unbelievable. Such a sense of entitlement these young people have. I think I'll use my $10 for a latte and a sandwich.

  8. I don't get the fascination with Scarlett, either. I've seen her several times in NYC, and without makeup and airbrushing, she looks terrible! Also, her boobs aren't as big as they appear! She's definitely stuffed at taped together--trust me!

  9. oh alexis, you made my day! great to hear she is not as "perfect" as she appears. That said, I want to go back to what ea73 said - do you guys think she was hooking up with woody or not?

  10. This sort of bad behaviour gets remembered by producers. Attending prems and doing press for a film is part of what actors are paid for. It's no point sulking like a little girl!

I've always thought that a large amount of the success Johnny Depp and Will Smith have is their willingness to spend a lot of time with the fans at these events.

  11. linnea - I don't think she was hooking up with Woody. Just a gut feeling on it though.

  12. I've hated Scarlett since Ghost World. Couldn't stand her in that. Then I just haven't cared about her since, so...I'm just meh that she married Ryan Reynolds.

  13. why, why, why, why? I have posted here for a VERY long time. I have met and spoken to a very large number of celebrities, fact not a brag.

Here is an example, I remember when John Travolta got rushed by 25 fans while eating a very private dinner, 2 people. I was chatting with him and his guest. Why? Because I was waiting on him. More on that another time. Seriously, there were all of a sudden a huge pack of smiling, very scary fans out of nowhere. Screaming the whole 'John! John! John! thing. What does he do? He looks at me and asks are you this ok with this? I say ah sure. Meaning it's my job to get them in and out. He stands up, he is in the middle of his meal btw, goes into the fray and talks and give hugs(?!?) until I get the side-eye. About 10-15 minutes. I say ok everyone lets let Mr. Travolta finish his meal, say good night. And they do and file out of the room. Happy as can be.

I say to him after, that was a little intense. He says it's my job. He's right. Whether you like him or not, is NOT the point here. He is an A-list anywhere and that is how he handles himself.

    Warmly,

  14. This kills me, you work your butt off to get discovered and once you do you become a royal B'?!?! What is up with that? Does she not know how many starving actors would kill to be in her shoes?
Scarlett sweetie, one day when you are checking people out at Walmart, you will remember the good ole days and wish you had done them differently

  16. I am so grateful to finally hear from some people who don't get the appeal of Scarlett. I have only seen a few of her movies, if she's in something I usually pass, and she has been the weak link in most of them. In Match Point, she was horrible. While everyone around her was interesting and, you know, acting, she bumbled through the film like a high school drama student. Her tude just makes me like her even less.

  17. I think I was traumatized by the story about the man who got trampled at Wal-Mart, because while I don't like Scarlett J. at all, I can't read a phrase like "all the fans that had been waiting as long as 8 hours to see her" and feel any sympathy. I just want to tell them to get a life. Go see the movie, don't go see the movie, but don't spend 8 freakin' hours standing around in a big hoard for something as unimportant as getting an autograph or a word from Scarlett Johansson. I almost want to applaud her for not encouraging it, even if it was just because she's got her head up her own ass. Anything that will dissuade people from thronging over every stupid little thing... but I agree that the producers won't be happy about that. :-)

  18. There is no excuse for celebs behaving like this at a public appearance. You can fight for privacy in your personal life as much as you want, but when you're at a premiere, you are working! Suck it up.

  19. I'm so thrilled that I no longer have to wait two minutes for each CDAN page to reload! I'm getting to all these posts late, but I don't care.

*blech.* I want to like Scarlett. I want to like her. I do. But I just can't. I mean, I want to walk around NYC with Natalie Portman or Leighton Meester and window shop and bullshit for a while, but I do NOT want to ever hang with ScarJo. She emanates the worst Hipster Holier-than-Thou vibes EVer.

Someone just told me that they think I look like her, and I won't lie -- I was really flattered. Of course, I DO think she basically cleans up really well, and her makeup artist is obviously extremely kickass, etc, etc. They all get a lot of help. Anyway, my response was something along the lines of, I hate her, but I'll gladly take the comparison. I think she's beautiful, but she's also a distractingly bad actress, and she comes across as a total twat in real life.

Knock it the FUCK off, ScarJo. You're not always gonna be dewy and plump in the correct places. Start making friends.
