Today's Blind Items
C list actress. I had to look her up on IMDb because I didn't recognize her name. I should have. Judging by her resume she has been on some very hit shows as a lead or co-star. They just are not shows I watch. One of the shows made someone an A lister, unfortunately it was not our actress. She is recently divorced and her husband is a major player in town. I remember when they got divorced but only because I knew his name. The rumor at the time was that the reason they divorced was that constantly cheated on her. Although I am very sure he was, she is not so innocent herself. At the same time he was cheating with everyone who jumped on his casting couch, she was showering her ex boyfriend with vast sums of money that she took from her husband. Whatever this guy wanted she bought for him. When the husband discovered this, it was over for the couple. Unfortunately for her, he had a very good pre-nup drawn up. Now, running out of money she and her ex-boyfriend troll through clubs looking for her next husband.

ReplyDeleteIM going to guess Courtney Thorne Smith. She was on Melrose Place, Ally McBeal and According to Jim. He would probably be considered C list, Ally McBeal made Calista flockhart an A list star. She was recently divorced just dont know what her husband did for a living

a quick search shows enty has written about courtney, but not about lisa.
ReplyDeletehowever, neither imdb or wiki has lisa as being married. in fact, wiki says she's withdrawn from acting and public life since she's suffering from schizophrenia. she hasn't worked in years.
So he says as a lead or a co-star, so I don't think LNC fits. I thought of Sharon Gless whose husband is a producer as she has been a lead and or a co-star on several series, but they are still married and nothing else fits.

I was looking at Sheery Stringfield from ER as she was on NYPD Blue and ER,, but that doesn't seem to fit as her husband wasn;t a producer(at least according to IMDB). So what other A-listers have been made through a television series.

ReplyDeleteWhat about Jenna Fischer, not sure how well her name is recognized?? Or if Enty watches The Office? She recently divorced writer/producer/director James Gunn(didn't recognize the name, had to look him on IMDB) and she's on The Office, which has helped make Steve Carell a star. . .also she broke her back in a fall off the stairs of a NYC nightclub last year. . . but otherwise, she seems way too nice for something like that.

ReplyDeleteForgot all about Stringfield! She left ER to be with her boyfriend but married a guy named Larry Joseph. sounds like no longer married to him but the have a child together...wonder if he's a majah playah?
Dicaprio was a star well before Titanic with critical acclaim for Gilbert Grape, Basketball Diaries and This Boy's Life, but that's moot because I don't think it was anyone from Growing Pains anyway.

doing well in TV(lead/costar) and the divorce was recent, I say he is a producer. I think they are in the news less than directors making this less obvious.
John Travolta started with Kotter, but female costars there didn't seem to fit the bill
How about someone from Alias? Didn't that show make Jennifer Garner A-list? I first thought of Amanda Foreman, but couldn't find any personal information on her, so doubt she was married to a "major player".

ReplyDeleteAmanda Foreman would fit some of the clues as she was prominent in Felicity, was in Alias and saw a note that she starred in a show called "what about Brian" in 2007, but it was cancelled.

ReplyDeleteCor, I was going to check the cast of Mad about you, but I could only recall Jaime's(sp?) sister in the show, who I think is gay in real life. There were other women that I didn't look up (like the one who played Paul's sister that was gay on the show).
ReplyDeleteI was thinking someone like Charisma Carpenter: definition of C-list, and Buffy and Angel made stars of SMG and Boreanaz, as well as Alyson Hannigan and the guy who is on Mad Men who played Conner. She is even known to be broke and divorced. Only problem is that her husband was a nobody ... but she is the type of actress I'm looking at.

ReplyDeleteI looked at her too for this! And tried to look up members of the cast from A Different World (Jada Pinkett - although she wasn't on it THAT long), but I didn't find any other females that fit the bill.
On paper, Jennifer Espisito sounds good, but I think her name is recognizable and she's been in plenty of movies, including Crash.
I would think Maura Tierney's name would be recognizable as well.
I looked at the Christa Miller from Drew Cary as well, but again she appears to be still married. Other thought was Traylor Howard (Monk, Boston Common, Two Guys and a Pizza Place which is where Ryan Reynolds started), but I didn't see anything but a few actor credits on her ex-husband.
Kathryn Erbe sounded interesting, but she's from Law and Order: CSI, not the Law and Order that made Chris North, and arguably, he wasn't A-List(esque) until Sex and the City.

This is so tough! I just looked up all the celebrity divorces listed for 2006-2008 and couldn't find anyone who really fit other than people who there is no way Ent wouldn't know.

Laura Innes was the one on ER, so I don't think she was as obscure as you might think. I don't think her husband was in the business, not sure.
ReplyDeleteOK, found Kim Johnston Ulrich on IMDB. She was a costar years ago in a show called Nightingales (she was one of the nurses the series was about. She is married to Robert Ulrich, a casting director for many big shows (Mentalist,CSI,Nip/Tuck,many more).
However, IMDB says they are still married.
I am trying to think of actresses that looked like they had promising careers, but never quite made it or faded fast, hence the lack of name recognition....there isn't enough info about the husband to narrow the search.
I don't know if I read this as having to be a producer/director
