Adrianna Costa Oscar Countdown And Picks

SNEAK PEAK BEHIND THE OSCARS!!!!

Hey Guys!!! Hope you're all having an awesome day. While most of you (I'm sure) are out and about getting tipsy or on your way there, I've been in the middle of madness also known as Hollywood!! I've spent all afternoon at the Kodak Theater getting high off Oscar fumes in preparation for tomorrow's big show!!!
Let me say this- The Security on the Red-Carpet is probably tighter than it is at The White House--- Nobody is slipping through!! That's why I was as covert as possible in taking a couple quick pics of the Carpet and how it looks without all the smoke and mirrors.
(note from Enty: Adrianna almost got kicked out for taking photos. That's how much she wanted to do this for everyone)

Fortunately for my co-host, Mark Istook and me, our position is perched high above the mayhem on a platform. It's designed for interviews and demos throughout the show. You guys, there is going to be some SERIOUSLY HOT eye candy during our 3 hour broadcast-- guys and girls, alike!!! Stay tuned!!! The show is on TV Guide Channel and runs from 3p-6p Eastern time. Keisha Whittaker will be discussing the good and bad fashion wise for not only my portion of the broadcast, but also when Joey and Lisa do their thing later.
PREDICTIONS FOR TOMORROW SHOW:

1- By now you've probably heard that Presenters were asked NOT to walk the Red-Carpet in an attempt to draw more attention to the actual show. I've heard from different sources that many Presenters will in fact show up and walk the Carpet because they want to be seen looking all dolled up, and have been asked to by the designers.

2- We've heard that some of the people presenting this year (though it hasn't officially been announced) are Robert Pattinson and Jennifer Aniston (in tow with BF John Mayer) Also, word on the street is that Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will show up and be part of one big musical performance in the show.

3- Despite Robert Downey Jr.'s nomination for Best Supporting Actor, he will not be attending the show--reason unknown.

4- Now on to Winners...Let's see how many of these I nail:

BEST ACTOR: Sean Penn in "Milk"
Should be and potentially could be Mickey Rourke in "The Wrestler"

BEST ACTRESS: Kate Winslet in "The Reader" (Deservedly so)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Heath Ledger in "The Dark Knight"

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Penelope Cruz in "Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona" (Such a sexy flick)

BEST DIRECTOR: Danny Boyle for "Slumdog Millionaire"

BEST MOVIE: "Slumdog Millionaire"

Check back in Monday Morning!! I'll write a Post- Oscar blog with all the juice from the weekend!!!! Thank you Enty!!!! Lot's of love- Adrianna :)

  1. Can't imagine presenters taking a back seat to all the attention on that carpet. Kind of sucks the fun out of it for them.

Don't get into any more trouble, Adrianna! Keep your job. If you see Ben Mulroney from eTalk, knee him in the groin for 99.99% of Canada.

    But seriously - have fun.

  2. You know, since the year the GOOP chick ruined the Oscars, I'm actually mildly interested in this year's show.

I want Mickey Rourke to win. And I'd like to hug him.

I hope Jennifer and Brad can keep it classy. If not, a cage match. I'd say Angie Jo, but she's kinda sickly and has no muscles so I think Jennifer would have it over in the first round.

I honestly don't know if Heath deserves this Oscar (I do maintain he should have won for Brokeback), but man what a cool thing for Matilda to have that to help remember her dad with. That kid is destined to be an incredible actor.

  3. Angie would use knives. I hope the cameras catch death stares.

I think Heath's performance is Oscar-worthy. Truly. Before I saw the movie I wondered if it was all hype because he died. And I wondered if he had OD'd but survived, would acclaim for his performance been swept under the rug. Perhaps to the latter, but he really put his soul into this. I think he deserves it. RDJ? No friggin' way.

I would love for Aniston to do the presentation of Benjamin Button for Best Film with Angelina. Show that they can be civil and end the whole charade.

  5. LOL Shakey you are right - she would have knives. I hope they catch the death stares between all of them. Is Laura Dern going? That could make it really interesting.

  6. If John Mayer is presenting with Jennifer Aniston, who thinks that he (the fame whore that he is) will ask her to marry him on "live" tv. Maybe I am pushing it but that is what is going through my mind right now. It would make for "interesting" tv.

  8. Adrianna, I agree with ALL of your Oscar picks =]
I'm cheering Sean Penn for best actor.

It's too bad that Slumdog and Milk came out in the same year. I want Slumdog to win, but Milk deserves an oscar too.

  9. what do you guys think about that "document" that supposedly shows all the winners? I think its a hoax, but it will be fun to see how many they get right!

  10. Linnea, I didn't read it because I don't want any spoilers but isn't their security supposed to be super tight? Though someone stole all those Oscar statues a few years ago.
I'm with you, Shakey. If Heath doesn't win I'm going to be sooo disappointed.
Hey everybody, is anyone live blogging the show? I hope Michael K is, he makes the slow parts hilarious.

  11. lol i'm going to attempt a live blog on mine, but predict i'll give up halfway through from sheer boredom..but who knows. i might do notes and a followup like the Golden Globes.

Adrianna- please kick Ben Mulroney in the nads as Shakey requested. he's a douche. we'll probably give you the Order of Canada or something for that.
    have fun!

  12. I'm sorry, but I thought RDJ was brilliant in Tropic Thunder and if it wasn't for the dead drug addict who made the mistake of partying with the Olson trolls, he'd win. Deservedly.

Ironic RDJ cleans up his act and loses an Oscar to a drug OD.

    Thanks for the pics.

  13. Benny-boy is supposedly hosting the Opening Ceremonies for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Please Adrianna - don't let the world know Canada's secret shame. An entire country will die from embarrassment.

  14. Cool, Jax. I'll check it out, if I'm not too trashed by then from watching hockey.

  15. Ok, just curious... doesn't anyone think that maybe, just maybe Frank Langella will win? He's an actor's actor, older than the rest of them and truly captured a historical figure's character with such human emotion, I thought it was really Nixon. Adrianna and I discussed this the other night and she still thinks it's either Mickey or Sean for what they physically had to do. All I'm saying is, watch for a possible upset.

Also, Penelope for Vicky Christina Barcelona? Not my pick either. I'm gonna say Taraji P. Henson or Amy Adams. Penny basically played herself. I'll prolly fail this game, but I personally don't think she deserves it.

  18. For the love of GOD could someone PLEASE just fucking kill Ryan SeaCRUST?!?

    Most annyoing idiot interviewer/reporter...EVER!

  19. No Ror, it's the douche standing to his right. Melissa Leo gave him a bitchslap because he made the mistake of saying she was the only professional actor in Frozen River.

  20. RDJ was just on the Red Carpet...I wonder what's up.

The weekend post is a nice surprise!

  22. Wow-Adrianna was right on target w/ her picks, she only missed one. Good job!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I have to ask - did you see Daniel Craig in person?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Umm....I don't think ANY of the 'winners' was a suprise. I also picked every single one. Honestly, pretty easy this year.

I do wish Mickey Rourke could have taken the Best Actor, but he doesn't have as many friends in Coke-land as Penn. Nice he thanked Mickey though, and snubbed his wife! LOL!!!!

  25. Adrianna- NAILED IT

    ReplyDelete
  26. I only watched some of it...no surprises there. I liked how they had previous winners each present a nominee, and how some of them was given a person they clearly didn't know anything about.

  27. wow. she nailed it!

  28. I watched TV Guide channel for Adrianna. She did a great job. And that person trainer - hun-kee!
