Today's Blind Items

What married Oscar nominated actor and very senior citizen has moved out on his wife of a bazillion years to shack up with his barely 20 something co-star who herself is probably a C lister seen pretty much always on television. She has two great shows to her name.

  1. Um. Kirk Douglas? Nah....

  5. Frank Langella and Shenae Grimes didn't costar in anything together. Plus, Frank divorced his wife in 1996.

  8. Peter O'Toole and Gina Holden (or Tegan Moss)?

    ReplyDelete
  9. I know it says nominated, but since in order to win an Oscar you have to be nominated, should we consider winners as well?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Peter O'Toole divorced his wife in 1979. Dude, he's been nominated 8 times for an Oscar.

    ReplyDelete
  11. first thought George Segal but, don't think he's been married a bazillian years.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm ruling out Hal Holbrook. He has two (possibly three) movies in production and one of them co-stars his wife, my favourite Sugarbaker sister, Dixie Carter.

  14. Mickey Rooney and Kelly Noonan? They just finished a film together. Except I could only find one "great show to her name", she was on a CSI episode.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I want to say Sean Connery or Michael Caine. They are not on the above list of long-marrieds, but both have been oscar nominated, I don't think they won, they are VERY senior citizens and have been married a long time. And they both seem the horndog type.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Don't forget that Christopher Walken and Georgianne Walken weren't on the list. I've since added them to Wiki. But I think I can rule him out because of the five movies he has coming out, I couldn't find an actress that fit the bill.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I can't get Quintessential Southerner's image of old, musty balls out of my head.
Thanks--I was about to cook dinner!

    ReplyDelete
  18. ice angel - great minds think alike! I started doing that.

warmisland - Enty would say if this was the guy from yesterday.

    This one is exhausting.

    ReplyDelete
  19. She has two great shows to her name.

This statement leads me to believe that she has been on two shows for more than just like a one-off guest appearance. Am I right or wrong on this?
Someone help a Princess out! :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. I was thinking Mickey Rooney too...he's the first that comes to mind when I hear very senior citizen...

    ReplyDelete
  21. James Garner and Kaley Cuoco?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Or Jerry Lewis? I see that both Michael and Sean have won multiple oscars, and sean not in production. Michael's co-star Emily Mortimer fits the bill w/2 tv shows (Friends and 30 Rock) but way too old (born 1971).

Oh my gosh, Beth! That's what my bit of research came to, too!
Sounds crazy, but the scenario is crazy.

  24. @ Big City Girl:

I got the list from Wikipedia yesterday. There are alot of people that aren't on the list. Like I said, until I updated Wiki today, Christopher & Georgianne Walken, who've been married for 40 years, weren't listed, but Patrick Dempsey & Jillian Stink-Eye Fink were. I think they've been married like 9 years!

    ReplyDelete
  25. James Garner has strayed before and stayed married hasn't he? That might be a good guess.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Peter Fonda and Taryn Manning?

    ReplyDelete
  27. How about Morgan Freeman? He does seem to have come off the rails a tad lately. Ok, maybe not married for a bazillion years (married his current wife in 1984). Can't think who the woman would be, either. But what the hell, I'll throw his name in the hat.... ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Princess - I second that statement!

I love the Kaley Cuoco guess, but she's 23 - would that constitute as "barely 20"?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anonymous3:04 PM

He's been married since 1956, co-starred with Kaley Cucuo on "8 Simple Rules...for Dating, etc." (as her grandfather)
and, well, whether or not Enty believes "8 Simple Rules" and "The Big Bang Theory" are great shows is anyone's guess.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Morgan Freeman left his wife in the summer. Taryn Manning is 30.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm jumping on the James Garner and Kaley Cuoco train. I re-read the blind and realized that Enty never said they were co-starring in a movie. That was a good catch, Beth.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Beth, I think you've got it. Good job!

    ReplyDelete
  33. hmm, I think James Garner is back in Norman, OK... I mean he did a local car commercial a couple of years go. Well, I guess that doesn't mean he's not back in LA.

    ReplyDelete
  34. James Garner and Kaley Cuoco? Lawd, that's way too icky.

    ReplyDelete
  35. i think that's the definition of random in Websters.

hayden is only 19 right? too bad that would make her secret even juicer.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Good Lord, James Garner? Really? I can't help but think the young thing would have to change a diaper or two. Blecch.

P.S. LOL @ "musty balls"...musty and saggy with white pubes...hahaha!

    ReplyDelete
  37. AnnMarie - Heh, I spent way too long working on it on imdb/wikipedia and that was the only combo I could even sort of get to fit the clues. (I also thought that since Enty said the girl did almost all TV, it was likely they starred in a TV show together since he didn't say a movie.)

Amh.producer - Well, he did something as recently as 2007 and hasn't announced his retirement or anything, so I'd guess he's in LA, but...

Kaley was also on Charmed for awhile, though it seems more doubtful that Enty would call that great TV than Big Bang/8 Simple Rules

    ReplyDelete
  38. Annalynne McCord (90210&Nip/Tuck, age 21ish)
and Phillip Baker Hall from her cheerleader movie?
    Gonna check if he's married.

    ReplyDelete
  39. nevermind, thought he got a supporting nom once, but nope and he's divorced.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Wouldn't it be more likely to be a recent costar?

    ReplyDelete
  41. hehe, I just saw that his nickname as a teen was "slick"... very appropriate indeed, if it is him.

    ReplyDelete
  42. James Garner had a stroke less than a year ago. I saw him at the Rose Parade a couple of years ago, he was on the Oklahoma state float. He was very heavy and had a cane.

If this is him, I'll curl up in a ball and die. Not Jim Rockford!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Bruce Dern
    age 73
    married 40yrs.
    nominated
    works with young actresses

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anonymous4:07 PM

i was gonna say hayden panettier and dennis hopper but i realized he's divorced, i just cant think of that many young actresses right now..

    ReplyDelete
  45. Peter Fonda is 69 and has been married 34 years. He's involved in a lot of projects right now and he has been nominated but has never won.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Sam Waterston, 68, married 33 years. He might have met a 20-something c-list actress on Law and Order.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It could be James Garner and Kaley Cuoco, his costar on 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter. She has been on Gossip Girl, Prison Break, Charmed, Seventh Heaven, My So-Called Life, and Northern Exposure. She's 23.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Anonymous4:29 PM

Ok Aimee Teegarden (born 1989,friday night lights) and peter fonda :p

    ReplyDelete
  49. Tom Conti - 67, married 42 years. He is involved in a lot of projects right now. Maybe not old enough?

    ReplyDelete
  50. James Earl Jones - 78, married 27 years.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I've got it! Mickey Roony, 88, married 30 years. He just filmed like 5 movies.
Not sure who the girl would be though.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hal Holbrook (84 yrs old, married 25 yrs) and Kate Mara (26 yrs old, has been on Nip/Tuck and 24, among many other TV shows). They were costars on Flying Lessons (2009).

He was nominated for an oscar in 2008 but has never won one.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Armin Mueller-Stahl - nominated in 1996, 78 years old, married 36 years.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Danny Aiello - 75 years old, married 54 years.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Charles Durning - 86 years old, married 36 years.

Robert Vaughn - 76 years old, married 35 years

Peter Falk - 81 years old, married 31 years.

Theodore Bikel - 84 years old, married 42 years.

Don Murray - 79 years old, married 46 years.

Kevin McCarthy - 95 years old, married 30 years

    ReplyDelete
  56. Bruce Dern / Tina Majorino - 24

Both are on Big Love and Tina also appeared on Veronica Mars.

Enty says pretty much always on TV for the actress, so that may include her movie roles in Napoleon Dynamite and Waterworld.

    ReplyDelete
  57. amazonblue,

I couldn't take it if this were Deb aka Mac aka Heather (aka Tina Majorino)! However, Big Love and Veronica Mars are/were both great shows. (My, oh, my, how I miss Veronica Mars. I'm holding out hope that they go through with the movie.) Even though they would both fit, and it's easier to imagine TM with BD than Garner with Cuoco (either way, ickkkkkkk to nth degree) I'm trying to be stubborn here and say it's not them.

My theory is that if it were Tina, Enty might have mentioned something about Napoleon Dynamite, like two great shows and one big flick! Keeping my fingers crossed.

Oh, and Enty, if you see this, please reveal this and the one from yesterday on July 4th! I'll pay YOU alimony ;>

  58. "very senior citizen" makes me think of someone really really old, like 80s or 90s. And being married to someone for a "bazillion years" makes me think of someone being married like 50 years, not 25 or 30. So I'm thinking James Garner is the only logical guess right now.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I like the Bruce Dern guess. Back in the 1980's he apparently enjoyed telling people that a real sex act appears on film in a movie he made called "Tatoo"--which pissed off his co-star Maud Adams so much he finally had to shut up about it. He was married to his current wife then, too. He was a real sex drugs rock and roll guy in his day and age doesn't change that.

  60. gotta be abe vigoda, he's been fooling around for years

    ReplyDelete
  61. Sandman, that cracks me up!!! Fish is shacked up with a teenybopper!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Wow, Sandman, Sal Tessio? I hope not! For betraying the family, he deserves a lifetime of impotence. (lol)

    ReplyDelete
  63. According to imdb, Abe Vigoda's wife is deceased.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Peter Falk is ill, with Alzheimer's Disease. I don't think he's working anymore.

Anyway, isn't there some kind of conversion table that has to be applied for celebrity marriage longevity? I think a year of marriage in Hollywood is equal to ten in civilian life or something.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Katie--it's like dog years. :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm going with Ernest Borgnine. Just because he's a sexy beast.

    ReplyDelete
  67. "Peter Falk is ill, with Alzheimer's Disease. I don't think he's working anymore."

That's what I thought, but he's been working. His daughter said he had Alzheimers in some kind of court case in which she was ruled against, so who knows.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Ernest Borgnine was only nominated for an oscar once, and he won it. Maybe's it's him, but I think that if it was, enty would have referred to him as either an oscar winner or a winner/nominee, not just an oscar nominee.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Peter Fonda, married since 1975 (not a bazillion years, but a long time by Hollywood standards), and Elyse Levasque. Star together in Journey to the Center of the Earth.

She's been in Smallville and a lot of other bad TV. She's 24.

Peter Fonda is in random photos 3-13. It made me look twice.

    ReplyDelete
  70. super late post, but i just came across this on ONTD and apparently more pics on Radaronline...it's Mel Gibson, just photo'd with a young Russian named Oksana at his Costa Rican hideaway. The site namechecks Oksana from his new movie, The Edge of Reason. Now, the description of the female is just a stretch (as is my entire reasoning, lol) but I just thought the photos and the timing were not just a coincidence. Here's the link for the 'story': http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/33189015.html#cutid1

    ReplyDelete
  71. Jasmine, I saw those phoos of Mel Gibson and came back to this blind also. However, it says 'very senior citizen' here and I don't know if that means the guys is very old. If so, MG wouldn't fit.

    ReplyDelete
  72. How about Alia Shawkat as the girl? I'm sure enty would agree she's been on great shows.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I read somewhere Morgan Freeman left his wife of many years for a much younger woman. I think the guy may be him.
