How Did I Miss This?
I didn't watch Letterman last week at all, and so didn't even know Elisha Cuthbert was on the show. I also didn't hear anything about her near death experience about being hit by a car and how she jumped over it apparently like in a movie and escaped with only a bruise. I know all of you read even more sites than I do, but I don't recall anyone talking about this or reading it anywhere. It is a pretty cool story. She also talks about how she was in an elevator when it plunged four flights, and then the brakes caught and then it plunged another four stories. Obviously you don't want to hang around Elisha longer than you have to. She is her very own home version of Final Destination.
The story starts at about 1 minute.
I question these types of stories.
ReplyDeletePeople want something memorable and entertaining to say on talk shows to drum up publicity.
"...aaand then the cougar jumped out at me!"
ReplyDeleteWhat really happened: They started on the 9th floor. Someone got on at 5. They went to the ground floor. Everyone got out.
ReplyDeleteAnd THAT'S when she jumped over the moving vehicle. Which was actually the QE II...she was just being modest.
Actually, I had the EXACT same thing happen to me in an elevator in Chicago. I worked in a tall building and was with a bunch of people at the time. The elevator began to drop rapidly, I'd say about 4-5 floors and then what must have been the emergency brakes kicked in and we stopped. Then the entire thing happened again.
ReplyDeleteI will never get the blood curdling scream from the woman behind me out of my head ever again!
That said-I've never "jumped over a car" to escape death!
she should've told an embarassing story about sean avery instead...
ReplyDeleteeven up the score so to speak
@ Ice Angel:
ReplyDeletesorry to laugh at such a scary experience but this is gold-
"I will never get the blood curdling scream from the woman behind me out of my head ever again!"
LOL
Sounds like she has been listening to "Coach" from Survivor......
ReplyDeleteMy main reaction: What a horribly unflattering dress and shoes.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't a story like this be on every gossip site??
ReplyDeleteWhat's tragic, is that dress!!!
ReplyDeleteIn the far reaches of my memory, I might have cought a small headline about it, but didn't care enough to read it or remember it.
Caught it via fark last Friday:

So this didn't happen on set when she did her own stunts?
ReplyDeleteMaybe she's explaining the rug burns as brusing from the "car accident".
wow, she totally has that 'newport beach trophy wife, who was once a hottie but now can't get off the baby weight' look going right now.
ReplyDeleteI saw on another site that almost the exact same thing happened to her back in 2007 or something...and that her description of the incident was almost the same. The whole thing seems fishy.
