Today's Blind Items
Unbelievably shocking. It is just an affair. Those things happen everyday, but this one is mind blowing. Married. Child(ren). Academy Award Nominee/Winner. Actress. Permanently B list. Probably won't ever move up or down from that position. She is having an affair with one of her trainers. She has a couple. He comes to her place when her husband is not around. No hotels, no sneaking around. Only at her place. It has been going on for almost 9 months.
julia roberts, just b/c i don't like her and i think she'd really do something like this.

Another thought - Enty saw fit to mention she has "a couple" trainers, and my first thought was that it can't be Goopy because she has that female trainer she's working with (and he featured the story about the videos they're making)...unless it's a hint she has another one?

ReplyDeleteOn the theory that the actress's picture is in today's Random Photos, I'm going with Glenn Close, a five-time Academy Award nominee although never a winner, on the theory that it's "unbelievably shocking" because of her performance in Fatal Attraction. Although Rita Wilson would definitely take the "unbelievably shocking" prize, I think the Academy Award Nominee/Winner reference excludes her. (Doggone it, though, because that would definitely be shocking!!)

ReplyDeleteI'm with Ann Marie on the Melanie Griffith guess. Unlikely she'll ever make a huge hit but she's permanent B list--hollywood royalty by birth, multiple marriages, a few famous roles and her place in history as the very first celeb to hilariously over-inflate her lips.

Meryl Streep is a possibility, as are any of the middle aged distinguished women. If I didn't think that Tom and Katie split ages ago, I would be shocked by her, shes so well controlled.
ReplyDeleteQuery: Why the parentheses in Child(ren)? I did a quick check and found Julianne Moore has only been married once (in 2003) and has two biological children attributable to that marriage. Melanie Griffith has three biological children, one from each of her three marriages. Glenn Close, who has also been married three times, has one biological child and three stepchildren. To the best that I can determine it, all of the these women's biological children are living. (Just for fun, I added Rita Wilson to the mix as well. One marriage to Tom Hanks in 1988 and two biological children.) It seems like Julianne and Rita would both have "Children" since both have more than one living biological child attributable to their marriages. I think Melanie (who has multiple children, but only one with current husband Antonio) and Glenn (who has only one biological child, but multiple children if you could the stepchildren) look more likely. Since Melanie is the only Academy Award winner, I'm now leaning a little more towards Melanie even though her picture's not in today's Random Photos.
ReplyDeleteI think it's someone very pregnant. The shocking part is that the baby is the trainer's, not the husband's. That's the big deal about the "almost nine months" AND why he went with child(ren)...since there's not quite more than one child...yet. Who is VERY pregnant, like 8 or more months along?

Enty uses "child(ren)" to keep from making the answer too easy. It means they either have one child, or more than one child.

Felicity Huffman. Both she and her husband, William H. Macy, are regular triathlon participants. She probably has a trainer for each sport in the triathlon.

ReplyDeleteGood point, kanonymous! In trying to think through Enty's use of "(ren)" I was simply trying to envision why the multiple appeared to be in question. I wondered, for example, whether this was because there was only one child attributable to the existing marriage (i.e., in the case of Melanie Griffith) but more children in the picture somehow? Or perhaps the actress only had one child herself, but had multiple children if stepchildren were considered (i.e., Glenn Close)? While the handful of actresses I happened to consider do not appear to have adopted children (hence my description of them as biological children), had they done so, I can assure that I most certainly would not have drawn a distinction between them and any biological children. Upon reflection, I think Mooshki may be right and that Enty did not intend the "(ren)" to be a clue at all, but rather it was simply a device to obfuscate the actress's identity a bit. Although, as Idiot Watcher points out, it is certainly intriguing when combined with the reference to nine months!

Kate Winslet. Child = her son with Sam Mendes. "(ren)" refers to her daughter with her ex. Easy peasy. She spends a lot of time in interviews harping on about never working out and only uses Pilates videos, etc. Surely to throw us off the scent of the personal trainer thing?

Michelle Pfeiffer - wasn't there some sort of "scandal" years ago about her husband not accompanying her on red carpets, or something to that effect? That wouldn't suprise me. It's Enty's A list, not ours. I'm not sure Michelle Pfeiffer was ever able to really "open" a film, so that's why he may call her B List and it would be a big surprise if she cheated on her husband, so I'm going with her. Although I'd love it to be Julia Roberts, but she will probably always be A list. Darn it. Also Felicity Huffman would be a big surprise, but I love her husband, so I hope not.
I gotta go with one of Christine's names. I would be BOWLED OVER if Frances McDormand was having an affair.

First off I think it has to be someone we care enough about to be shocked. Maybe someone who is always saying what a wonderful marriage they have. Also if the 9 month clue means they might be pregnant then the person has to be young enough. Meryl Streep, Michelle Pfeiffer and Melanie Griffith are all over 50. Julianne Moore is 48, but since she had the movie 9 months it could still be her. I just don't know if anyone cares about her enough anymore to be shocked. I think Julia Roberts would be shocking, but she is def A-list.

Julianne and husband Bart Freundlich have been together twelve years and have two child(ren)together. Live in NYC and never hear a thing about them, living under the radar. As opposed the SJP and Matthew for instance. I don't think she has ever been considered A-list. Even with her Oscar noms. However, because of the Oscar noms and other awards, she probably will always be at the B-level. I just cannot see her clawing and grabbing at straws to keep from dropping below that b-level. She is just to good of a body of work. A Sally Kirkland she aint.
