This married, aging C list movie actress was the indie "it" actress long before Parker Posey. For the past six months she has been having an affair with a man on parole for killing his wife.

Jennifer Jason Leigh was always a favourite in more obscure films, and is probably considered to be aging. She's also married currently. Seems a good guess.
I was thinking along the lines of actresses such as Amanda Plummer, Rosanna Arquette or Linda Fiorentino, girls who had their share of success and indie cred in the late '80s or early '90s. But they're all single or divorced. Else, you could find many it girls of the time in Robert Altman movies.
I hope it isn't Frances McDormand or Jennifer Jason Leigh. They're married to good directors.
This can't be Phoebe Cates. She and Kevin are so totally adorable together and seem to be such a loving, easy going, "normal" couple. She quit Hollywood to raise her kids and they just seem so great together.

Just going by Entie's possible age and how he usually classifies actresses I think aging would have to mean at least as wrinkly as Nicolette Sheridan and Teri Hatcher. Illeana Douglas is a great guess although I know nothing of her personal life. I'd say her age minimum!

The undisputed queen of indies in the 1970s and 80s was Karen Black. Second place: Shelley Duvall, with Geraldine Chaplin in third, although she worked a lot more in Europe. All three are married. I'm going with Karen.
kelly lynch is a great guess, she's married. laura dern? although she seems so happy with Ben Harper. Sherilyn Fenn has a 2 yr old with boyfriend, not married. Lara Flynn Boyle is aging and C-list.
