Which One Is Carrie And Which Is Charlotte?

I have received quite a few e-mails today asking me to write about Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick and their twins they are expecting via a surrogate. When I heard the news yesterday I didn't really care to be honest. I did wonder if Matthew had sex with the surrogate or if they went the whole Clay Aiken route. It kind of takes the fun out of having a baby if you are just looking at magazines and using a cup. Or a baster. Whatever works best for you really. I'm sure they could afford the whole cup/doctor route.

I know there are probably lots of people who say they should have adopted. Yeah, well they are the people who are going to have to raise the children, and I really it is their option which route they want to take. I also saw somewhere that Sarah Jessica Parker was too old to be having newborns in her house and to that I say look at all the 65 year old guys getting their 30 year old wives and girlfriends pregnant. Sure, Matthew will be retirement age when the twins graduate from high school and SJP will be doing Social Security In The City, but they are not unreasonably old to be having kids.

  1. Where were all the naysayers when Warren Beatty and Annette Bening had their last child? He was in his 60s and she in her 40s.

  2. Who cares about age? When I was in the delivery room, there was a 46 year old lady in the room next door having (her first!) baby. I thought it was pretty awesome.

Also, epidurals are the best. thing. EVAR.

  3. As a woman who cannot have children and is in the process of trying to adopt from another country, I can tell you that people are just judgemental assholes in this arena. People ask me all the time why I don't just adopt a nice American baby. Really, it's none of their business, and most of them had their own children, so STFU. However SJP chooses to find her happiness, as long as she is not obviously trying to do it illegally when she doen't give a crap about the kids she already has (you hear me, Madonna?), should not concern us.

  4. I don't care how they get their kids. For as much as I care (and I do enjoy both of their acting careers), I just hope that everyone is healthy and happy.

I just hope that the blinds that I THINK apply to them aren't true if they're bringing more children into the picture. Their son may like having siblings, too.

  6. I know what you're talking about, AnnMarie.

For one, Lainey has her out to be a huge coke whore. I can't picture that, for some odd reason.

My mom was in her 40's when she had my 2 younger sisters and she says she enjoyed them much more than when she had me.

  7. I think it's better to err on the side of being an older parent than a younger parent.

Btw, dlisted has the funniest account of this story, I swear I peed a little reading it.

  9. One thing you can say about SJP is that she seems to be a hands on mother & enjoys being with her son.
She always said she wanted a big family, & I give her credit for doing this, unlike a certain Australian star who adjusted the size of her pillow every few months.

  12. you ladies seem far too intelligent to actually buy into Lainey and her 'sources' about any blind she attempts.

  13. it's possible they used her egg and his sperm, in which case the surrogate is just the incubator. however they did it, good for them.

i don't know what they did, but i'm really sick of people bitching because they didn't adopt. everyone should be able to do whatever the fuck they want---it's a very personal decision and is totally up to the couple.

it's pretty funny anyone talks about their age. there are a LOT of folks in hollywood taking on parenthood who are considerably older than they are.

  15. Didn't Enty have a blind not long ago where the husband got someone pregnant and it said to look out for a couple announcing a surrogate baby soon? Lemme search for it...

  16. Well.. as an only child .. I say yeah for them they decided to give their son some siblings. [As I get older, I really freak out at the thought I will be alone when my parents pass in the next few years.] However, I fear these are band-aid babies.

  17. @Wil: you make your friends your family. Believe me, since my mother died I haven't seen or spoken to half my siblings.

@ImpertinentVixen: I vaguely recall that one, too, so please hurry and find it! I'm too lazy to look it up.

  19. If it makes them happy God bless.

Like AnnMarie I just hope that those blinds that sound like them aren't them. No reason bringing more children into those blind lifestyles. There isn't enough therapy in the world for that.

  20. I was shocked when I read this announcement, but good for them.

@notvotingforsuckno -- Good for you! Congratulations! And you definitely should ignore those who judge your choice on how to become a mother.

  21. Who the hell would sleep with Matthew Broderick ? With those sideburns, he looks like Abe Lincoln's little brother.

  22. Argh...I've spent the past day looking for that BI. Can't find it. Glad to know I'm not the only one who remembers it, though, or I'd think I was losing what is left of my mind.

  23. Is this the blind you're thinking of? (TJ Hooker) If so, I think it was too long ago to fit.

  24. Further proof that they don't have sex

I think they just have a great partnership, lead separate lives and are co-parenting

If it works for them, more power to them

  25. I get the feeling that Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker despise each other
