Grey's Anatomy Kills Off The Entire Cast. Starts Fresh For Next Season **Spoiler**

I didn't watch Grey's Anatomy last night but judging from the number of status updates I saw on Facebook last night, there are a tremendous number of you who live and die with this show. From what I understand, Katherine Heigl flatlined and will only be revived if her next few movies bomb. TR Knight was killed for sure and will only return as a ghost if Katherine Heigl's movie career goes up in flames. It also seems like McDreamy got married. Kind of. Anyway, all of you can have at it and discuss if you would like to.

  1. Two of the main characters killed off? This is definitely jumped the shark.

I don't watch the show, but I'm glad that bitch Heigl has one less option to fall back on.

  2. when has something sat here this long with no comment?

i quit watching this pile of shit show several years ago. the only thing i'd wish at this point is that a 767 falls on the hospital and crushes them ALL to death. THE END.

  3. I'd say we don't know who, if anyone, is dead or alive. The answer to that question likely depends on Shonda Rhimes' ego and contract negotiations.

Did anyone else catch her bitchy interview with Ausiello where she explains a whole lot of nothing?

  4. I don't want to talk about it.

  5. i suspect shonda has gotten a lot of flack from her colorful cast. lol.

    BRING ON THE PEEN!!

  6. (I was up until almost 2am last night ranting on every board I could find, and now my burning rage has settled into a deep simmering hatred for Shonda.)

  7. This show used to be really good. I don't think they should've kicked off Isaiah Washington's character, he was great in it. Same with Kate Walsh. But, imo, it fell off a few seasons ago. Just too soap operaish.

  10. Like I told Mooshki, I have never really followed the show other than an episode here and there, and mostly for Dr Callie Torres who I think is a Hot Bitch. Anyway, I did catch the last 12 or so minutes of the show last night and even I was kind of shocked.

Now, if you'd like to discuss my reaction to the season finale of Lost...I can't BELIEVE I'm going to have to wait until 2010 for the next season!!!

But my best TV reaction this week was to Family Guy. The "Stand By Me" spoof. "...Chris Chambers died outside of a club in Hollywood, leaving us with a harelipped reminder of what could have been. WAAH-WAAH!" Cut to real photo of Joaquin Phoenix.

I actually gasped. And then I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe. It was a classic FG moment. It was so wrong. SO WRONG.

  11. I agree the show kind of lost its rhythm along the way, but the last few episodes this season have been fairly good, and I have to admit I was really choked up about George!

I'm ticked off, frankly. I loved George and Izzy. Also liked Burke and Addison. I hate when the regulars leave and the new ones come in. It messes with my mood.

  12. Pale,

ITA. I haven't watched this show since Issiah was fired but if Heigl and Knight are gone that makes me happy.

  14. Last night's episode didn't jump the shark. It landed on it and proceeded to dry hump it.

  15. LOL, Yellow! It's true! Ugh, my list of things wrong with the episode is so long.

  16. This show jumped the shark years ago when Meredith almost died and they booted off Isaiah. However, I still watch it because my husband likes it. I hope HEIGL and TR are gone for good. Couldn't happen to a smugger pair of assholes.

  17. Actually, I'd say the show jumped the shark at the end of season 2 when the Chief demanded a prom be held at the hospital, but whose keeping track?

  18. Heigl should have been written out after the first few episodes, definitely should have been gone after her character cut the lvad wires or whatever it was on Denny. I haven't watched it much in the last couple of years. I totally didn't understand the 007 reference last night.

  19. 007 was from the very first episode of Grey's, when George froze during his first surgery and they started teasing him about "having a license to kill." They've mentioned it a couple of times this season, but a lot of people had forgotten about it.

  20. whole_lotto_luv - In the pilot episode of Grey's, George almost killed a guy in surgery and earned the nickname 007 (license to kill) from Karev. Meredith Grey stood up for him among her peers when everyone was snickering and calling him 007. The nickname didn't really stick over the course of the series, but I thought the moment which will likely mark his demise was a nice bookend from the pilot.

  21. 007 was George's nickname after he froze/screwed up on one of his first surgeries, if I remember correctly.

I'm actually one of the few hoping Heigl does well on her own. She doesn't ruffle my feathers much.

  22. I never got into Grey's but I'm with Harriet don't get me started on LOST and them killing off whom they did. >:| And I have to wait until 2010 for the next season!

  23. George can't die. Izzie can hahaha
And the finale was sad, but this show was really awful lately.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Harriet, re: Family Guy: I had EXACTLY the same reaction! lmao..

AH, I am goin' to hell.

Anyhoo, Mooshki, honey, I feel your pain. I watched 5 minutes of GA and let it go. They can kill everyone off but that hunky Kevin McKidd. Did you see Rome? LORDY... Personally the only good thing about GA is that it introduced me to the lucious Jeffrey Dean Morgan..

  25. I still LOVE Grey's. NO jumping a shark for me. Last night's episode made me cry, literally. I loved all of them, but Dr. Burke did not do it for me. Too stone cold and animated. I loved the ending. When I realized it was George, I panicked too.

  26. i can honestly say, i've never, ever seen the show.
survivor is my thing (YES, THEY VOTED "COACH OFF!!).
    so, i don't really give a hoot.
    is that wrong of me?
if it is, oh well, it's friday, and i have a nice bottle of tequila. who's with me???

  27. Mooshki & all, thank you for the 007 info. I totally forgot about that.

  28. I watched about the last 18 minutes of the previous episode - where Izzy does that awful voiceover blathering about how the best day of your life is never what you think it will be, or some shit like that. I made fun of it to a Grey's fan. She walked away from me, and my cackling.

  29. Okay, ready to vent again.

Jamie's Girl, I mostly love Grey's too, and in fact I've defended it all along, even when there were parts I didn't care for. What makes me so angry is that Shonda either: a) didn't have a problem with T.R., and horribly mutilated a character that people care about or b) did it to punish T.R.. Either way, I think it was an incredibly bitchy thing to do. I actually like Izzie a lot, but I'm okay if she dies, because it's a great story, and done respectfully. I am also okay with the basic idea that George died saving the girl from the bus. What bothers me is taking a character that I have grown to care about over 5 years and cutting and bludgeoning him into pieces. The violence and degredation of it was just too excessive.

Little Miss, I read that interview and it got me even more pissed off. She gave George/T.R. nothing to do all season so we wouldn't notice that he was missing for most of the finale? What the fuck kind of reasoning is that? Especially since they explained early in the episode that he was supposed to be in surgery all day. Shonda lies, and manipulates, and I don't like it.

And yes, I know it's "just tv," but storytelling is a part of human culture, and I'm not embarrassed that I care about what happens to these fictional people.

No matter what problems I have with the writing, I thought the acting in this episode from everybody was just incredible.

Ardleigh, when Lost ended I shouted at my tv "2010?! 2010?! I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG!!!" And take heart - TV Guide had an interview with Elizabeth Mitchell and she said "nothing about the ending is what it seems," so I still have hope. :)

  30. Prom episode - I was actually embarrassed for the actors. Ridiculous.
But, as mentioned, since Izzy stopped sleeping with ghosts it has been pretty good. I LOVED LOVED the end of the finale!

  31. totally agree about Callie she is fun to watch, wish I could quit her, then I'd be done with this stupid show

  32. George has been useless since season 2. He deserved to be bumped off that way, as a hero. I like Izzy and hope she is around next season. I've seen most of Heigl's flicks and they are what they are --romcoms,--entertainment for 90 minutes.

Although sometimes I think they killed off the wrong characters. McDreamy? Please get him off. Meredith? Please, she's tapped out trying not to become her mama. Yang, is the only good character left--complex, trying to act so not like a human.

Can't wait until next season. But hurry up, my social security may not survive this shit.

  33. Mooshki, totally agree. I'm with you, i felt totally hurt by the way she done things. I love George and love TR. People say bad things about him but he never complained, never said a word. Even though he has the right to be upset.

And i too care about fictional characters. I don't feel dumb about it. He's not a real person, but he was there every week, being adorable and making me like him. So i feel outraged by the way we went :(

I like Izzie, but i love George. I'm really sad right now.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thanks for clearing up the 007 thing for me. I didn't get it, but I didn't get hooked until season 2.

If Izzy and George have to go, then I think the writers did a pretty decent job of getting rid of them. I still like the show, especially when there's less of the Grey in Grey's Anatomy. Mer grates and a little of her goes a long way with me. I thought the pretend marriage was a little too soap opera-y for my taste. T.R. was obviously pissed off all season and barely said his lines. Katherine (whether you love or hate her) did a fantastic job of acting.

But hey forget all that other crap, there is one big reason to watch the show.... Owen.
