The Hoff Was Just Drunk And Not Poisoned

Hang on to your signed Baywatch posters just a little longer it turns out The Hoff is still alive. Reports this weekend suggested that The Hoff was rushed to the hospital by his ex-wife while his daughter slapped his face to keep him alive. The reason? A .39 blood alcohol level. That is an impressive number. Anytime you see a number that close to .40 you are really looking at death.

But, it turns out the reports may have been greatly exaggerated. Oh, The Hoff was drunk, and he definitely spent the night in the hospital. His tenth alcohol related emergency over the past few years. According to The Hoff's people, David's ex-wife Pamela Bach made up the part about the near death experience and the .39 blood alcohol level. Hmmm. You know what? I don't really trust Pamela Bach, but this is not The Hoff's first trip to the hospital and I'm guessing after all these years it takes a significant amount of alcohol to force him to the hospital.

So, I will go with Colonel Mustard, a .30 blood alcohol level, an ex-wife who called paramedics, and a daughter who stayed home.

  4. Watch, in 2 years he'll need a liver transplant and he'll say "this was what I needed to get sober. I haven't had a drink since xxx." Then a month after the transplant he'll be back on the booze.

You didn't know that HE got custody of the girls?

Yes in spite of his alcohol problem they gave HIM custody.

I want to know why the daughter involved Pam. Why didn't she call 911 or if he wasn't near death why didn't the daughter just drive him to the hospital?

  8. Actually, Jax, as a medical professional, I feel compelled to correct you.

The medical term for .39 is sh*t faced drunk.

And alcoholism/substance abuse is such a sad disease and such a waste of medical resources (you're so right about the liver xplant, Moosh). It's just a form of slow suicide. Perhaps this will be his rock bottom. We can only hope.

  9. How does this guy keep going? He's dodged bullet after bullet and honestly, even with the plastic surgery, he still looks pretty damn good for a lush.

  10. Well, not on my collar, SHE was arrested for driving while intoxicated - apparently really f-d up on some drugs. So I think they are probably both pretty bad role models..

  11. the one thing about the story i don't get it how she got him to the hospital on her own if he was unconscious and 'near death?' why not call an ambulance?

i don't doubt he was dead drunk---this guy really needs to pull up before he kills himself. but i don't know if i believe every single aspect of the story she's told. sounds like parts of it, at least, may be embellished to me.

  12. That footage of him when his daughter is trying to coax a promise not to drink again out of him is so so sad, people can recover from alcoholism but until they decide to seek help there's really nothing anyone else can do but watch. incredibly sad for his daughters i think.

    sad sad sad

    Too sad for their children.

  14. Apparently now there are reports that he really was that drunk, that it wasn't just a case of exaggeration. Whatever, the case, those poor kids of his deserve better than both he and his ex.

  15. I worked in a hospital ER a few years back & that .39 is probably a good guess.

For the occasional drinker .3 anything is pretty much unconscious, but for a chronic long term alcoholic that's the starting point every day.

How bad is his ex-wife that this man, with frequent documented episodes of alcohol overdoses as well as signs of alcohol dementia, gets physical custody of minor children?

  16. A friend of mine knows a producer on America's Got Talent. Recently, Hoff was in town to view auditions and my friend was hired as a "babysitter." Apparently, the Hoff will leave the hotel with all the good intentions in the world of showing up where he should. Then, he will walk past a bar and head in. I haven't heard all the details but the bottom line is that David is a mess.
