Michael Madsen Owes Quentin Tarantino $1M

You know you must be pretty good friends with someone when they will loan you $1M. Well, that is exactly what Quentin Tarantino loaned to Michael Madsen. Actually it could have been more, but that is what Michael still owed. E! obtained a copy of Michael Madsen's recent bankruptcy filing and he says he owes Q that much money. He also owes Pierce Brosnan $25,000 who must have thought Michael was probably not that great of a credit risk. Looks like Pierce was right.

So, how much does a guy like Madsen make? According to the filing he makes about $600K a year now which is substantially less than he used to make. While all of us would probably be happy with 50K a month, after you subtract all of Madsen's expense he is in the hole each month for a little over 3K. Maybe he should cut back. Just saying.

Total debt for Madsen? $3.7M. You know what I just realized? Jon & Kate make $75K an episode and TLC has a 40 episode season planned for them which would be $3M. So, despite this very long career for Madsen and being one of the best actors ever he gets $600K a year and Jon & Kate bring in $3M a year. I think it is time for Michael to go find Octo-Mom and make some money.

  3. gotta really suck to declare bankruptcy, not only on your creditors, but on your friends, too. geez.
but, you never loan money if you can't afford to lose it, so a good lesson learned!

It's just time for him to do a reality show, a TV show, a made-for-TV movie, or any other movie.

Definitely one of my favorite actors.

Quentin should just consider it a donation.

  5. I agree with Enty. I love this guy so much.

And he and my husband could be twins across the eyes.

Hmm, perhaps that is clouding my judgement?

Naw. Gotta go watch Resevoir Dogs now.

  7. If they would just release Vengeance Unlimited on DVD I'm sure that would help with the bills. I loved that show; still blame that asswipe Jamie Tarses for not giving it a fair shake. I boycotted ABC for an entire year when it was cancelled.

  11. For you fans, did any of you see "My Boss's Daughter?" I DIED laughing at him in that movie. Damn, looking at his IMDB page, he must be serious about trying to pay his debts back! Or maybe he's declaring bankruptcy now so he gets to keep all those paychecks? :)

  12. i had a huge crush on michael madsen around the time of 'reservoir dogs.' loved him in 'thelma and louise' too.

but he always had that vibe of being a little dangerous and a guy you would not want to get serious about---you could just tell he was bad news.

in other words, MY KINDA MAN!

    lol.

  14. I really like Madsen.
He really should have taken that part in Pulp Fiction.

I think he screwed himself by giving up that part.
    He's so talented.

  15. Dang, harshin' the guy. I just watched Saving Pvt Ryan and Pearl Harbor and this guy could be a great actor.

Yeah, I had a war movie marathon with Navy bro in law.

  16. It was nice of his friends to help him out like that. But yeah, he could have cut back.

I hope he pulls out of this. I too think he's a good actor. Great? He could be. He needs the right role. Years ago I used to get him and Tom Sizemore mixed up.

  17. I loved Vengeance! Love his voice too. I hope he pulls out of this but Holy crap does he burn money?
I have trouble wrapping my mind around that kind of debt.

  18. Oh shit, Shakey. I did confuse myself. He is not Sizemore. Another f up. Thanks for being a friend about setting me straight instead of biting my head off.

  21. On IMDB I saw 48 films in the last three years (released, completed, post production). That is 16 per year and, with $600K earnings, a "movie star" paycheck of $37,500 per film. I regret to say he is in the take anything for the money stage of his career.
