Britney Spears Trying To Get High From Diet Pills?

According to the website Betty Confidential and also FOX News, it seems that Britney may have a little diet pill problem. Reports from someone in the Britney camp says that her dad recently caught Britney taking diet pills and washed down with Red Bull prior to a recent performance.

The source of the story is quoted as saying, "Britney was definitely trying to get high by taking too many diet pills and energy drinks. Jamie thinks the combination of the two is making her whacked-out and, causing her to lash out in weird angry rampages."

No? Our Britney lash out? I find that hard to believe. She always seems so calm. Anyway, what this shows me is that even if the report is 100% true, is that Jamie is actively watching out for Britney. I know the cynic in me says he is doing it for money, but he is her dad and her Conservator and a Conservator is supposed to intervene and stop her from doing what she is alleged to have been doing.

I only took diet pills once and I talked a million miles an hour for about 20 hours and then passed out for the next 20. I'm not sure I felt high and probably would not use them if that were my ultimate purpose. My guess is that if she really did take the pills is that they help her through the performance with energy. I also think the fact there are lots of sites that continue to say she is heavy might play a part in it. She isn't heavy, but if she reads that, I could see her believing it and then wanting to do something about it. It is the same with anorexia and bulimia. Even if it isn't true you are fat, you think you are and some tabloid that is asserting that is going to cause a reinforcement of that image in the person targeted.

  1. Britney loves the high-end stores, doesn't she? I love the Target bag. The next time I'm there, I'm going to look for her in the diet aids aisle.

  2. I remember using diet pills and they were a doozy, my heart was racing and my mind was tricked into seeing food as disgusting, they were some blackmarket pills I got from Rio. Never again!

  4. im glad im not a celebrity, i have enough body issues, it's got to be so tough when even being 00 is not considered "thin or good" enough.
tabloids need to lay off the whole figure thing, half the people that comment and write negative things about weight are probably over weight themselves

  5. As if being the ATM for the Spears/Ferderline crowd is not bad enough, this happens...

  6. If her dad is so worried about her healthy, why the fark is he allowing the tour to be lengthened? Since she started in March (which you famously predicted wouldn't last to April, Enty), she has added Europe, then a second leg of the US, and now Australia.

If she is in bad shape, TAKE HER OFF THE FUCKING ROAD. Good grief.

  9. Ah...sad. For some reason, I have always felt sorry for Britney - she just doesn't seem right, and so she has this sad look all the time now. If they're doping her up to stay level, who could blame her for taking the pills for energy and to lose weight. I've done crazy things in the name of weight loss.

  11. at the bottom of it all, she has a substance abuse problem that's never been adequately addressed. if it's not one drug, it's another.
mixing diet pills and red bull? well, one day her heart will explode. end of story.

  12. the problem with phentermine (which i'm currently back on) is that it's effects only last for a few weeks, and then you need more and more. the last time (before the back thing) i was on it, i was taking like 3/day, and i couldn't drink tea, coffee, cokes, any caffeine at all. i can't imagine taking it w/ red bull (of course i don't do a lot of caffeine, any way). right now, just one phent. a day doesn't have a lot of side effects, and i'm even bogged down in the weight loss area.
the OTC stuff is even worse for you, because it's not FDA controlled.

  14. Quintessential Southerner-

I would mostly agree with you, but I think there's more to it than people realize. I think people pick on others about weight because they themselves are insecure about their weight. You don't necessarily have to be overweight to do so, though. I used to do it all the time (and I try to catch myself now when I slip up), and I was a size 0 at the time. I'm now a 4 and things are much better since I don't look like death now, and my entire waking moments are not consumed with my weight and looks.

I think it's just entrenched in society with things like women's magazines (they are POISON), and it's tied to consumerism. Like, you HAVE to be supermodel thin or you aren't worth anything, so buy these diet pills, exercise equipment, blah blah blah. It's all a mind fuck, and we need to work on exposing this type of thing so that people can be happy with who and what they are, then shit like this will likely stop.

Not that I care about Shitney or her feelings, since she CHOSE to put herself out there in the public eye and she is well compensated materially, my concern is for the average person who is likely normal and doesn't need to be manipulated and distracted from more important issues with this endless and pointless crap about weight and looks.

That IS the bottom line here. And then one day when she wakes up dead at a young age everyone will be *stunned*, just like they were with MJ. Because no one REALLY wants to open their eyes about addiction with the stars. She's clearly got problems and even her dad is still exploiting her to some degree. She needs at least a 90 day rehab program for starters.

  16. Reminds me of Judy Garland. Arguably more talent, but.... Kept hopped up on pills from a young age, everyone's little puppet. I really feel for her.
