Exploiting Your Kids For $250 A Day

Yes, she is back in the news. Octomom Nadya Suleman finally signed that long awaited reality television deal and in the process signed up all her kids for good measure. Over the next three years each of her children will earn $250 a day for 71 days of filming for a grand total of $250,000 for the 14 of them.

On Friday, Octomom's lawyer filed the contracts with the court which need the approval of a judge. The court papers don't say how much Nadya will get for her participation but I bet it is way more than her kids are getting. I mean why would they need money for anything right? Besides $250 a day should buy them an hour of therapy so they can look forward to 71 days of basically free therapy as a result of their mom exploiting them.

One could be very cynical about this whole thing and divide the 250,000 by 3 years which is about 80,000 a year and then divide that by 14 which is about 6,000 and then further divide that by 365 days in a year which works out to about $17 a day.

You know it must just burn her that Jon & Kate get $75K an episode and she probably won't be getting anywhere near that.

Not yet anyway....hey, Jon is single, maybe he needs to go over an pay her a visit. She used to strip so she should be right up his alley.

  2. LOL at Big Mama. I think they'd be perfect together! Jon already knows how to slack off with 8 kids--adding six more to the mix should be no problem.

Plus imagine visitation days! 22 kids. Take that, Duggars!

  4. From the article I read over the weekend I seriously got the impression that each child was getting 250$ a day?? I thought that was pretty good, but umm, if it's 250$ /14 they're getting ripped off..

  5. eep! wow, what a low price...sad market value. on the one hand, they have to eat...there's no way she, working at a normal everyday job, can provide that...so maybe this is the best way?

i'm not saying it's right, and yes, she should have thought of that before having the children...but they're here now. how else are they going to be provided for that doesn't involve welfare/our tax dollars?

  6. The state of California should be garnishing that. She owes them a BUNDLE.

That money will be gone in 6 months and she'll be passing the hat for herself.

  7. Sure, it sounds paltry when you put it that way but with the right financial planner and some smart investing that $6000 could be $7000-$8,000* ($8,000!!) by the time the kids turn 18.

*Totally made-up amounts; I couldn't compound rate of return to save my life.

  10. At least there will be some limits to how many days the children will be filmed. By year three, I think it's only 14 days.

As far as the money, the kids are getting $250K. We don't know how much Octomom is getting paid.

  12. My guess she is having the children paid to avoid California garnishing her wages. I'm sure she'll say that she, personally, is not making a dime from this. What sleezy channel is doing this show?

  13. It's going to be aired overseas, not in the US. We'll still have to hear about it ad nauseum though. :(

  14. I read another report that was making a big deal about how 15 percent of their earnings was being placed into trust - by law. It all sounds good, but when you figure 15 percent of 250 divided by 14 kids.... that's around 900 a year for each for three years, placed in savings which is getting what - .5 percent return now? If - and that's a big IF - they can get 8-9 percent return, they ought to have about 8-9 grand apiece when they turn 18, and that's only because Octomom can't touch those funds. After 17 years That should pay for about a fourth of a semester of college for each of them, if they are lucky.

If she really cared about those kids future she'd put every damn dime of that 250 away for them... but something tells me she won't.

  15. I thought it was $250 per kid, per day. That's $3500/day x 71 = 248,500.00

  16. Bigmama you are on some roll today, too funny!

I wonder how much of that money will go to the kids and how much toward her efforts to look like Angelina Jolie.

  18. Since she and her kids are earning money, they should be immediately dropped from the welfare rolls, WIC program and the medical insurance the rest of us pay millions to her creepy, lousy ass.

Medicaid in the state of California was suspended as of Aug 1st, so all the people, the elderly and disable will no longer be receiving heart and blood pressure meds to stay alive, I believe she has sucked up more than her fair share of resources. She wanted 14 kids, she needs to pay for them all from this day forward. No free ride sweetie, you had 'em you feed and care for them.
