So You Think You Can Dance's Alex Da Silva Arrested For Rape

You might remember that back in April, Alex Da Silva was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting at least four women from 2002 through 2009. At that time the prosecutors decided to drop the charges because they felt that more investigating needed to be completed. Well, apparently the investigation has been completed because this morning the former SYTYCD choreographer was arrested at his house and charged with eight felony counts: four counts of forcible rape, two counts of assault with intent to commit rape and two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object.

If he is convicted of the charges he faces life in prison. I guarantee you that if he did this with four women there are probably lots more victims out there who have not come forward and there were probably even more unwanted advances that didn't lead to anything. I was disgusted when the prosecutors dropped the charges earlier this year and had honestly thought they had given up. I am glad to see I was wrong.

Alex was on SYTYCD for every season but this past one.

  6. Holy crap. I'd say something about soaps in prison showers, but he probably won't go to jail. I bet the victims were all drunk and wearing short skirts, and we all know that if you do that, you're "asking for it". I bet nobody will ask him what he was wearing.

Creepy looking dude. Those big white teeth won't last long.

  8. He needs to be arrested for wearing that shirt right now.

(I'm sure it is latin dance-related, but still...)

  11. is this man in the u.s. b/c I thought in the u.s. you are innocent until proven guilty.

only take out your torches and guns after the court finds him guilty...if not let it go.

  12. Vanessa, I read the accusations the first time around, and I sure as hell don't need a court or jury to know that he's guilty.

  13. Hey -- what ever happened with the David Copperfield rape charge?

  14. No charges filed due to lack of evidence.

  15. Eight counts? I would say he is probably guilty.

  16. And here everybody thought it was all over by now.

After his release in April Alex Da Silva has told his side of the story to Edie the Salsafreak:

and made a show about the entire thing:

Guess we'll have to wait and see what comes up during the trial.

  17. Eight counts? I think that's a bandwagon most women won't jump on unless it happened, let alone numerous women.

May karma visit him in jail. Repeatedly. Jax and Lotto my thoughts exactly. He'll be learning new steps with Bubba and this time he doesn't get to lead.

  18. Vanessa, you're innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. There's no law against people expressing opinions. This isn't a courtroom. See? No walls.

  19. From the news, these happened between 2002 and 2009 so I agree that there are probably plenty of other victims. Another bit that blew me away is that his bail was set at $6.2M!

  20. I can't stand to look at his eyes.

I am of a mind that rapists don't change.

And now he will probably get raped. I wonder if he will realize then what he's done.

  21. I doubt it Libby, he's probably too narcisistic to think of an impact to anyone but himself. And I hope himself gets a right reaming from his fellow prisoners.

  22. I know for a FACT that this perv tried to rape a female singer several years back while "instructing" her prior to an appearance on a big TV dancing show. Although the lady was no prude, you just don't pull shit like that on ANY woman, much less a celebrity.

He even tried to convince her that they should practice "topless" to set the "mood" and all kinds of corny shit, and he got bitch-slapped several times while copping feels until she threatened to have him fired. She was afraid of the bad publicity and being thrown off the show if she raised a fuss. He smirked and mocked her the whole time.

Any guy who cannot accept "NO" deserves his nuts nailed to a tack board. But like you folks said - imagine the unfamous, defenseless, and lesser-known females he did his forcible pants-dance with?

I hope they skip the trial - where some smart-ass, sweaty mouth-breathing-overpaid lawyer (probably paid for by the producers/network) will try and accuse the victims or plead that this "Latin Lover" was a product of some "environment" in which he grew up, thus contributing to his uncontrollable pathologies...and instead they opt to execute or castrate him immediately. Worthless fuckstick.

The VH1 network should have a reality show with him, Joe Francis, Chris Brown, and Phil Spector...all bunking in a room with the TEN worst male homosexual violent rapists all living together in a cell. Any convict who gets the "celebrity" to cry "Uncle BITCH!!" without lubrication will get "the prize" each week. And by "prize" I mean instant televised firing squad out back...just for winning!

Get Dr. Drew to host and THAT would be reality TV worth watching. Call it "LOVE BITES"!! "RAPE OF LOVE"? How about "The REAL BROMANCE of Orange County"??
Any producers interested? Contact my agent Phil McCrevess at CAA.

  24. so i know that people are saying that he did do this and all have similar story but the truth is, if you knew alex then he welcomed you in his home. men and women. he had private dance lessons from his home. i met him back in 05', stayed at his home and i didnt find him to be disrespectful. met his mother and came along with him to his dance classes and events. through out that time i saw how popular he was and how often women would hit on him. he was def a ladies man and seems very capable of seduction BUT i find it hard to believe he is a true rapist. hes is very small and no more than 140lbs at 5'5in. but you can never tell these days. i hope these stories arent true but if he did do these things i'd be put in a state of shock and i am sorry for all the girls. i hope the truth comes out soon.
