Halle Berry Is Pregnant Again

According to Life & Style, Halle Berry is three months pregnant with her second child. Yes, it is Life & Style, but they have been right a lot lately. Halle, who just turned 43 a couple of weeks ago gave birth to her first child last year.

So, last year Halle got pregnant through IVF, and this year the magazine says she got pregnant through artificial insemination. I really don't know the difference between the two and am too lazy to look it up, but it sounds to me like it must be pretty close to the same right?

Halle's publicist hasn't commented on the report yet, but a source for the magazine said, "Halle is overjoyed. The first time, she struggled so much to get pregnant and eventually conceived through in vitro fertilization. This time, the baby was conceived through artificial insemination. She’s just ecstatic to be pregnant again. She wasn’t sure if she’d have another baby, so she’s very happy."

I'm pretty happy for her also. (the picture above is from May, so no baby bump)

  3. K, um, I don't get it, why would she need a baster? Doesn't his, erm, 'baster' work? Maybe he can't shoot'em far enough? LOL! (Oh geez I just gave myself a fun visual there... o.O)

  4. They do artificial insemination to get the best of the sperm and they don't use a baster, they use a catheter to place it up high in the uterus, so it has a shorter way to swim (and her egg doesnt have to wait as long). Plus they would have given her meds to sitmulate her ovulation. So, it's not the same as egg and sperm meeting in a dish, growing for three days and being implanted - it's much, much easier on her body this way.

  5. IVF is an implanted fertilized embryo, while artificial ensemination still depends much on luck.
Regardless of the method, if it's true, then congratulations to Halle!

  13. Good for them!

Okay, placing it "high in the uterus" sounds incredibly painful. Anyone who's ever had an IUD implanted knows that the uterus does not enjoy having things enter, and shows its dismay with breathtakingly strong contractions.

for those of us who've never had kids, it's like "HOLY CRAP I had NO IDEA a my uterus could do THAT." I kid you not, I could have sworn that the expulsive force was enough to send the IUD through the wall.

Um, sorry for the TMI. ;-)
