Dr. Phil Lawsuit Is One For The Ages

When reporters tried to reach Dr. Phil's spokespeople for a comment about a recent lawsuit filed against him in a Los Angeles court, the spokespeople could not be reached for comment. My guess is they can't breathe because they are laughing so hard.

Shirley Rae Dieu has sued Dr. Phil for false imprisonment, practicing without a license, indecent exposure, battery, fraud and more.

Here is how Shirley said all of this happened.

Back in 2007 she was being treated by Dr. Phil when she was "forced to be in the same room with a completely live naked man while he exposed his entire naked body, genitals and all."

But wait, there's more.

She was brainwashed and "subjected to edited tapings depicting her as a different personality other than her own."

Dr. Phil also copped a feel back in 2007 during a therapy session.

People Magazine managed to talk to Shirley and she said another woman will be joining the lawsuit. Uh huh. She says that Dr. Phil isn't like the man we see on television.

I just want to know if Oprah was involved.

  1. I think very succesful people are bound to be sued at some point. If it has any merit, I do not know...

  2. I will never understand why people take so long to file lawsuits. Hey, here's a thought--if it happened, why not file CRIMINAL charges? Oh, riiiiiight. It's about the $$$.

Not saying it didn't happen (he seems creepier and creepier every day), but it makes a mockery of people who are taken advantage of and follow due process, imo.

  3. I would love to know more about him not having a license to practice...well whatever it is he practices. From what I can gather he is just a coattail rider of Oprah and you don't need a license for that.

  6. Enty, you missed the best part:

    She's representing herself.

I really can't stand this Phony Phil. Don't understand why he is so popular.

  8. What's the old saying, anyone representing themselves has a fool for a lawyer.

  9. I'm with Melanie. These "charges" sound pretty weak.

  10. From what I understand (i.e. my trusty news source that is Michael K of Dlisted), this lady has sued twice before this for other unrelated issues. Not that I'm saying she's lying (because seriously, Dr. Phil seems like a total skeeze), but it does seem a bit suspect.

  12. I like the part about the naked man. Does he just hang out at Phil's office with no clothes on, like he's on retainer or something?

  13. Maybe the reason Dr Phil isn't the man we see on tv is because it really wasn't Dr Phil who was treating her, and some one posing as him. When you're nuts all bald men look alike.

  14. I have heard about his grabby hands on the set of the show, and I also know that he has let his lisence, which was only valid in texas, expire 20 odd yrs ago. I have never liked his good ole boy way of psychitry and while this is appealing on t.v. it is not a real way to treat people. While i doubt he did anything to this women I dont think he should be practicing on anyone anytime soon.
