Mackenzie Phillips Turned Tricks And Used Coke While Pregnant

Mackenzie Phillips talked about lots of juicy things in her new book, but The National Enquirer discovered some things that Mackenzie didn't talk about and so thought they would share. That is very nice of them don't you think?

The story they reveal this week is that when Mackenzie's drug habit reached the point where she couldn't find enough money to support it, she turned to prostitution.

"There's a period in her life Mackenzie completely glossed over in her book. Drugs led her down the path to prostitution. Mackenzie fell into a friendship with a Hollywood madam and quickly found work as a jet-setting call girl. She was in her late 20s and pregnant with her son Shane."

Yes, you read that right. She was turning tricks while she was pregnant and doing drugs.

"She was shooting cocaine and so strung out she couldn't get work acting or singing, so she connected with a well-known Hollywood madam. Her clients were extremely high-end and extremely discreet. They'd take her on trips to exotic places. She was arm candy for them. She said the really twisted thing was being hired specifically because she was pregnant. She made a lot of money quickly and used it on drugs."

This would have been a great story to share, but I guess there is a limit to how much you want to expose to the world. I'm guessing the reason she didn't want to share this story is because of the effect it may have had on her son if he knew about it. Only a guess though.

All I can say is that she is trash.

I wonder if she ever had a 3way with Denise Richards.

Drugs are an awful road to go down.

  3. So that is too embarrassing to put in her tell-all book but sleep with her own father isn't?

  4. She admitted to drug use up until she was 6 mos. pregnant in the book.

It's not like she made herself look good in the book. But yeah...the whole thing is just....

I was a little incredulous at that too. Also, I laughed.

  7. On Larry King last week he asked her if she was promiscuous during her drug addiction and she emphatically said she was NOT. She said sleeping around was never a part of her life.

  8. I don't understand how a pregnant drug-addicted woman would be "arm candy."

  9. Yeah, we're all having trouble with the arm candy part. She hasn't even looked healthy since her American Grafitti days and they had to stop doing close ups on her while filming One Day at a Time (ironic title).

  10. That's just bizarre. It's like a real-life version of Requiem for a Dream, or something.

On the one hand, I'm sorry that Mackenzie Phillips led such a fucked up life. On the other, I'm not sure that every single sordid detail needs to be on the interwebs all month. I'm still off my feed thanks to the whole dad incest revelation. Blagh!

(Although, it has been reported that since that news came out, calls to sex abuse hotlines have increased significantly. So I guess if airing her dirty laundry gets a ton of people to seek help, it's worth offending my delicate sensibilites.)

Finally, not to be an asshole, but Mackenzie Phillips got top dollar as a hooker? And I thought Ashley Dupre wasn't all that.

  11. Drug addicted or not, one thing Mackenzie Phillips never was and never will be is arm candy.

  12. If she was too strung out to sing/act how could she get a job as a high-end call girl? I do know there is a demand for pregnant hookers but still, as chopchop wrote, she was never eye candy.

    How is her son?

  13. Did she work for Heidi? You would be surprised how some guys like pregnant women. Seriously, you would. There are entire magazines, and probably web sites too, dedicated to sex with pregnant women.

  14. And the father of her child had no clue she was addicted and prostituting herself during pregnancy?

Her poor son, even in-utero he had no one looking out for him.

  15. Nothing about her surprises me. I think her life has been so far beyond fucked up that we don't even know the half of it, even with the book and all the crap that keeps coming out.

I don't think prostitution and being promiscuous are necessarily the same thing. Prostitution, no matter how you feel about it, is work. To make money. In some cases for drugs, in many cases just to make ends meet. Sluts don't get paid.

How much do we know about the effect of coke use during pregnancy? If she was using when she was that far along, how has it affected her kid?

  16. The pregnant hooker part didn't surprise me at all. I worked in a bar when I was pregnant and the bigger I got, the bigger the tips. Some guys just like that I am as big as a house look.

    ReplyDelete
  17. But still...if Larry King or anyone else asks you if you were promiscuous during your addiction years, she could have told him about the prostitution. That's nothing compared to the incest thing.

  18. wait. this is the enquirer. why are e taking this 'revelation' as gospel?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Can I ask a question to the group?

This news is coming from the National Enquirer, and in Enty's write-up, there are no named sources. Other rumors spawned by the Enquirer have been dismissed here, because of the source.

So why is it that we're all assuming that this little piece is true? I'm not saying it is or it isn't--I just find it interesting that commenters doubted Mackenzie's revelations, but this is gospel.

  20. Holy crap Pookie I hadn't seen your comment before I wrote mine. I think we're sharing a mental wave-length.

  21. I can't stand her!! So I'd agree lol

  22. I think after the whole John Edwards thing, the Enquirer got a whole lot more credible. Not saying it's gospel but I think it can be more accurate than L&S or Star. *shrugs*

    ReplyDelete
  23. I think the Enquirer is probably the most accurate tabloid just because they aren't constantly kissing the asses of publicists in order to get lame "exclusives" like that joke of a wedding to some lame reality star and a soon to be washed up basketball player.

Back to topic. In what f*cking universe is Mackenzie Phillips eye candy? I feel bad for her, but she is now, and has always been, unattractive. Very unattractive. Shit, I'd be a million dollar lay if she was "top dollar".

    ReplyDelete
  24. teehee, Katy! well, you know...great minds and all! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  25. The whole high-end clients and arm candy things make me not believe this. I don't care what story they broke in the past, the Enquirer will never be credible.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I never realised there was a big market for pregnant hookers.

Among others, I bet John Edwards knows the Inquirer is accurate some of the time.

Not to be mean (because I'm no Halle or Charlize), but Mackenzie Phillips is "arm candy"? Even when she was 25 she wasn't a raving beauty.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Maybe arm candy because she was famous for One Day at a Time? If she walked into a room, she'd turn heads just because of that role.

    ReplyDelete
  29. OK, I don't care. She needs to be telling this shit to her therapist, not to the whole world.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I am gonna have to call shenanagins on this one.

I just don't see high end elite clientele buying Mackenzie .. for arm candy ... or sex for that matter.

She might well have turned tricks for drug money. But if she was high AND pregnant .. she was selling it on the streets not to the money men clients of some Hollywood madam. No way .. no how.

  31. i have her book for the airplane. am having a hard time not starting it, but i have a hunch it will be a quick read.
i think i should have picked up kristen chenowith's (sp?) too, to lighten up the mood a little.

  32. She's still in the news and didn't have to get arrested. I think she accomplished what she set out do do.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Maybe arm candy in the sense that someone moving drugs would look less suspect with a pregnant "wife" on his arm. She was needed as camouflage or a smoke screen, and sure, if she had to throw in a blow job or two, well, so be it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I reckon she opened up about the incest part in her book because her publisher felt the book wouldn't sell otherwise. I mean, Mackenzie Phillips career has been dead and buried for years. This revelation has helped generate interest. Despite the stuff her father did to her (true or not), she is a filthy drug addict and I feel sorry for her son. Total shame.

  35. She would be arm candy in most any other country but this one. Really, you guys need to get out more. Use that passport!!

  36. Re: "high end":

She's a celebrity, guys want to get blown by a celebrity.

    The end.

    ReplyDelete
  37. i just finished the book, i was supposed to save it.
@choice: "filthy drug addict"? have you read the book?
unbelievable the way she was raised.
yet she never points fingers, she tells her story in a very matter of fact voice. she comes across as brutally honest.
not all people who take drugs are back alley bums. it's more that most back alley buns are addicts or mentally unstable, and have no where to go. her story is heart breaking, but definitely not a "look at me! i need the attention and pity"! type of story.
hope she keeps it together this time, poor gal.
