Today's Blind Items

This A list movie actor recently quit a very high profile movie he was to begin shooting. There was no real reason why he suddenly decided to take a pass. Well, the reason is a pass. It turns out that the A list actor hit on the wife of his fellow A list co-star who threatened to walk out if the offender wasn't fired. Our A list lecher was allowed to quit rather than being fired.

  1. Well, I'd say this was likely my ex-boyfriend, but he's not an A-list anything.

  2. A list actor #1 - Sean Penn, using the "I want to figure things out with my family" excuse.

    A list actor #2 - Paul Giamatti

    Movie - The Three Stooges

    is Giamatti A-list?

I'd also say Sean Penn in Cartel, but don't know who else is tied to that movie

  4. Is it sleazy Terrence Howard for Iron Man 2?

  5. all depends..did the a-list actors' wife use wipes?

Wow, fired for a pass? SOMEbody has some trust issues.

  7. Marlon Wayans just replaced Eddie Murphy in the biography of Richard Pryor.....

  8. Nicolas Cage recently left The Green Hornet but Seth Rogen isn't A list or married.

I don't think it would be Adam Sandler, who was supposed to be in "Inglorious Basterds" (starring Angelina Jolie's husband) and was replaced by Eli Roth. But that would be a seduction scene I'd like to see!

  9. AnnMarie,

He found out about the pass so no trust issues, it was the pure insult. Would you want to help the career of someone who knowingly hit on your significant other?

OT: I have the edit option again. It is a little #2 pencil to the right of the invisible mail item option who are both to the right of the "6 Comments" link, anyone else?

  11. Lol @Jax! I had forgotten about the wipes.

  12. Didn't Ryan "douchebag" Reynolds just quit something?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Isn't Terrence Howard gay? I favor the Sean Penn guess. Why else would he quit?

  14. ryan gosling? he failed "the lovely bones" movie just at the beginihg of filming
Brad Pitt? he failed "state of play" with Affleck

  15. ali, you are almost there

SEAN PENN is the non-fired actor

JIM CARREY is the other A-lister who is "married" to Jenny McCartney (i think they did vows but not the whole shebang)

  16. by the way, wasn't PENN shooting 2 movies? all i remember is the 3 stooges.

oh, and unless Benicio has something to tell the world, the would be the other A-lister in that movie.

  17. sorry ya'll i'm going with the eddie murphy guess!

  18. My first guess was that lech Sean Penn, and I like Ali's guess best.

  19. This isn't the answer but I'm throwing it in as a laugh - Javier Bardem and Michael Douglas / CZJ.

  20. Totally Sean Penn .. I can see him doing this with no trouble at all.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It cannot be Eddie Murphy unless the "wife" was a tranny, lol ..........

  22. Sean Peen, ftw.

No WAY it's Eddie Murphy--in order to have two A list (male) actors in a film (one with enough power to demand the other be fired), it would have to be something huge and ensemble-ish. Richard Pryor film, while probably having several A listers, wouldn't fit the bill as I doubt it could be considered an 'ensemble' cast.

Oh, and the whole Eddie Murphy is a tranny-loving douche, thing. Has he even sent little Axel Spice a teddy??

  23. I have to say, whoever they are, it's kinda refreshing to see a good ol' heterosexual flirtation in Hollywood. LOL

  25. am i just imagining it or did Russel Crowe quit a movie not so long ago? i thought that Penn's reason for quitting was for him to secretly go to rehab.

  26. This is totally not the place for this .. but did anyone else just hear that NBC killed "Southland??"

I think we have our answer to this ..
    "MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2009

"This B- list television actor is one of the leads on a big hit network drama. One of those police type shows. Our actor has not shown up on set for almost two weeks. It isn't about contracts or anything like that. Nope. It is because he is on the drug bender to end all benders and won't stop using. Producers are getting worried because they need him on set and functioning soon or they are going to have some huge story gaps that will need explaining."

  27. WAy too juicy. I think it is Sean Penn for sure. He's had hassles for awhile in his own marrriage so is probably on the prowl.

  28. pomme: not Ryan Gosling, his departure from Lovely Bones was well-explained in interviews. It had to do with optimistic casting and his age, but on film it just wasn't believable.

  29. Wil-Not Southland!!!!!!!!!

Shite, I was just getting into that show & really excited for new season. Damn. It was so well done, reminded me of "Homicide, Life in the Streets"

    ReplyDelete
  30. As for this blind, I think Penn is a great guess!

As for the Southland guess, who would be the actor then? That guy McKenzie (??) from the OC? He always seemed to have it together, I thought...

  31. (forgot the follow-up)

    ReplyDelete
  32. @A I think this is definitely about Penn but not Carrey. I think when the blind says wife it mean legally and not the way charlize theron uses it.

Terrence Howard is engaged I think.

  33. javier bardem with Christian Bale's wife for "killing pablo"?

or javier bardem with CZJ wife of michael douglas in "wall street 2" seems a good idea

    ReplyDelete
  34. Sean Penn dropped out of "Cartel" with Josh Brolin who is married to Diane Lane

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh nevermind, Brolin replaced Penn. Booo, I thought I had it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I agree with the Stooges!

    ReplyDelete
  37. NO IT ISN'T RYAN, THE DIRECTOR OF THE LOVELY BONES DIDN'T LIKE RYAN'S VISION OF THE CHARACTER...AND REALLY HATED THE WEIGHT GAIN RYAN HAD DONE FOR THE PART....

    ReplyDelete
  38. Wil, just PLEASE tell me the actor is Tom Everett Scott and not Ben McKenzie! I couldn't stand it if cute little Ben went the Mischa route!

And crap, I liked that show! Regina King was particularly awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm on the Sean Penn train. Nice to know any power he had in Hwood is fading.

about Southland - why can't they introduce a new character, kill the lead, and the new guy can take over? It's a good show and not because of that kid.

Mooshki, maybe Mischa got him hooked while they were on the OC. Or ... it could be the other way around ...

  40. According to IMDB, Three Stooges and Cartel are 2 of the 5 projects that Sean Penn quit. Does anyone know what the other 3 might be? I'm still looking for a better A list co-star.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm guessing the A list star with the wife has even or slightly more "influence" that the quitter A list star? I can't imagine Brad Pitt hitting on Jen Garner, and then the movie picking Affleck over Pitt when it came down to it.

I like the Sean Penn guess - I think he would be more replaceable if the movie already has Carey in it and he was probably a risky casting decision anyway.

Speaking of Sean Penn - isn't he a drug user? Drives me nuts how he gets involved in all these international/human rights issues and meanwhile - in his small way, he's helping support the cartels and terrorists with his drug habit.

  42. LOL@ Axel Spice

Is there a bigger douche than Penn?

Seriously, he has at least one blind a month

He is such a sleazebag...It's a wonder he and Madge couldn't make it work

They have so much in common

    ReplyDelete
  43. btw, if Penn made a pass @ Diane Lane, I think it would be a fight before having him fired

They have the worst tempers in Hwood

Well maybe they're tied with Crowe

    ReplyDelete
  44. HOW can it be Sean Penn if Diane Lane is not attached to Cartel?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Where does it say that the wife is in the movie?

    ReplyDelete
  46. It could be read as if the wife was going to walk. (ET is not always clear when he writes.)
So, correction: how can it be Sean Penn if Josh Brolin was not attached to the movie before Penn "quit"?
