Big Changes At ANTM

The good news is that America's Next Top Model is having its lowest ratings ever. Whoo hoo!! The bad news is that the CW has no other shows so Tyra will get to fix it and make it all better. How is she going to do that? Well according to The NY Daily News she is going to demote Miss J back to runway coach from judge. I guess Tyra threw him a bone by letting him come on her talk show and discuss his child and now he his being demoted and being replaced with Andre Leon Talley. Really? Yes, I know Andre (whenever I type or say the word Andre, I just think of Tim Gunn. Anyway.) Talley is a big name but dumping Miss J is a slap in the face. The biggest slap though will happen later. Kimora is going to be a new judge. She will replace all the celebrity judges who like to pretend they know everything. Kimora and Tyra barely can stand each other and when this ends badly and it will end badly there will be some great drama.

  1. Oooooh, Andre! Yes, this is a good move. I've loved him since the Warhol days.

  2. The show makes for good background noise on Wednesdays at our house, mostly because my husband & I like guessing which stupid Tyra comment/action will end up on "The Soup". I have to say that for us the Jay's make the show. I think Andre and Kimora will be fine additions, but the biggest and most effective change would be kicking Tyra off the small screen. To me, she is the worst part about that show. Unfortunately she loves herself way too much to ever do that, so we'll see if her little tricks improve ratings.

  4. Tyrant needs to bring back Janice, and actually cast girls with real model potential, and have a wniner with real model potential. And the photoshoots in the last 6 or 7 "cycles" have been stupid and in no way representative of real ad campaigns.

  5. Tyra has had Kimora on her talk show and says that they are best friends. Neither one of them can act well enough to pull it off, so I don't understand the 'can't stand each other' comment.

  6. Tyra's gonna miss Miss Jay when he's gone, he was one of the only ones who played along with her ridiculous bits in judging

I never understood why Mr. Jay wasn't a judge. He's the one who spends the most time with the girls and sees their performance on the photo shoots.

wasn't Kimora a judge way back in the first or second "cycle" or whatever?

either way, I am still hopelessly addicted to this show, if only to make fun of it.

  7. kimora was a judge on cycle 1. tyra appeared on kimora's reality show. tyra was also on kimora's e! true hollywood story. she was her bridesmaid at her wedding to russel. they have always said they were good friends. did something happen>?

  8. Maybe Andre can wear house slippers with different numbers on them as the models get eliminated.

  9. I like Kimora and I thought they were friends too. I would love too hear any juicy gossip on that. If they were friends they won't be much longer. They both might be diva-ish but Kimora comes off as so much more likeable and Tyra will hate it.

After Janice left it has just gone downhill.

  10. Hmm -- if you guys all say they're friends, then perhaps this is an answer to a blind.

Any blinds come to mind about two best friends who had a huge fight over something?

  11. I have to admit, I am completely addicted to this show and have watched every season. They definitely need to bring back Janice...she gave something to it that hasn't been there since. Nigel needs to get some balls and stand up to Tyra more (though he is FABULOUS to look at, yum) and they should have both the J's be judges.

Mr. and Miss J just make the show for me.

  12. God, when will "America's Next Top Nobodies" ever get canceled? I noticed this season (like someone else said, it's good background noise), during commercial breaks they are doing follow-ups with prior winners, which comes across as a desperate plea to make us believe the winners actually go on to do anything akin to real modeling work. I admit I used to like this show in the beginning, but there have been way too many "cycles" and judge changes and it is way too obvious that these contestants never actually make that break into high fashion.

  13. ITA about Nigel Tara...on second thought, maybe I shouldn't hope so much for the show to be canceled, as it gives me the chance to drool after that hunky piece of British man. Who seems waaay to classy for that show by the way!

  14. Haven't watched this season at all, but in previous seasons the two Jays were the best part.

    LOL at Warmislandsun.

  15. ANTM is my biggest guilty pleasure, even though I'm quite convinced that the last 8 or so cycles have been rigged. It's still good trashy entertainment for me! *L*

  16. kimora's coming onboard? wow, it might actually be fun to watch the chemistry b/t her and tyrant.

  17. You know what? I wouldn't want to look like either one of them.

  19. Kimora was on Cycle 1 of America's Next Top Model. From what I heard, Kimora and Janice Dickinson used to get into screaming matches off camera. Janice stayed because fans liked her brutal honesty and Kimora left. Tyra and Kimora have been best friends for years. I've never heard of them not liking each other or having a falling out.

  23. There's been less emphasis on the girls learning to walk for several seasons now, and I've missed it. That said, I think she should have kept Miss J as a judge.
