Colin Firth Is Up For Bridget Jones 3

It would be tough to have Bridget Jones without Colin Firth but he told Moviefone that he was all for a part 3 to the series. He also says that he has no idea if a third installment is going to be made. I thought this had all been settled before and that Renee Zellweger was not going to gain weight this time but was going to use a fat suit which I think is the wrong way to go, but hey, I am already fat so who am I to argue.

Colin says, "I only know what you know. That might not be believable to you, but I honestly don't know. I'm not in regular touch with the Working Title people. I don't see why not! I think it would be well worth having a go. I like the idea in some ways now because I think enough time has gone by, we're not just sort of trailing the other two. We've all grown a little older, I think there's more fun to be had with that. I'm not adverse to the idea."

He says that as long as it is a good script he is in.

  1. Oh sweet baby Jesus I love me some Mr. Darcy! That BBC series he did for Pride and Prejudice made me a Firth fan for life...

  2. Colin as Mr. Darby. That was sublime. I would love to see this movie. Hope Hugh gets on the Bridget Jones train too.

The older you get, the harder it is to lose weight. Maybe Renee just didn't want to go through that again.

  4. I didn't like Bridget Jones 2 and I thought the book was better than the first movie. I never object to seeing Colin Firth though.

I'm sorry, were we discussing something?

  7. Very few pictures leave me hot and bothered, but Colin Firth in bubbles is enough to do it.

    Thanks Enty!

  8. Oh my. Mr Darcy in the tub. I kind of liked the Bridget Jones movies, as light, entertaining fun. They are obviuously not Oscar material and don't really have much of a message to convey...but I think they're fun to watch. "'Good guys don't kiss like that!' 'Yes they fucking do!'". I have been in love with Colin Firth ever since.

  10. Damn! Do you think my husband would be offended if I blew this pic up, life-size, & put it at the foot of the bed?

  11. Methinks that Colin Firth and Renee Zellweger (easily one of my least favorite actresses, what with that goofy squint and affected, raspy voice) would do a third BJ film for the payday.

I know I will get crucified and flamed for posting this, but I really preferred Matthew McFayden as Mr. Darcy in the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice. *drools*

  12. I sincerely hope they change the plot from what Helen Fielding wrote in her columns. They were rubbish.

  13. Matthew McFayden....yes he was pretty good too.

  14. don't kill me, but i honestly would have liked the bridget jones movies better with another actress. perhaps someone that didn't have to fake the accent.
i don't like her, and i HATE fakey accents (even tho i pull out a TERRIBLE fakey ozzie one occasionally). and i usually like a no brainer rom-com.

i do agree, though, firth in bubbles is frothy fun! :)
