More Nastiness From Tom Cruise Movie Security Guys

Last week fans in Austria were lined up to watch the filming of Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz's latest movie. As they wrapped their hands on the barriers designed to keep them away, a group of security guards from the movie punched the fingers of the fans. Several of the fans were injured.

This week the security guards decided to ratchet things up even more. Two Austrian photographers asked the film crew where they could take pictures of the movie. The crew told the photographers that they could not be on set but could shoot from any surrounding area. So, the two photographers set up in an apartment of a friend overlooking the shoot and started taking pictures. At one point during the shoot, security guards shot a laser at one of the photographers and it severely damaged his eyesight and slightly damaged the eyesight of the other photographer in the room.

We had been there about three hours - it was the flat of a friend on the fifth floor - when I suddenly saw a blinding light through the lens.

Salzburg police are investigating it as an assault and a doctor said the two had their eyesight reduced by the incident. Both photographers are still suffering from headaches.

The light hurts my eyes and I am just looking at a photograph of it. Can you imagine getting that shot right into your eye? I'm surprised their eyes were not permanently damaged. The person who allegedly did it was Cameron's main security person. I wonder if he was hired by her, the production company or if Tom arranged for some people to come over from the local COS.

  1. I knew Tom was crazy but didn't know he hires equally insane gorillas to protect himself. More and more people are realizing just how fucking crazy he really is and his movies are waning in popularity. He needs to start pretending to be a lot nicer than he actually is. The douche.

  4. One thing is to do your job as a security guard, the other is to be an @$$hole which obviously these knuckleheads were. They should have hired better trained security.

  6. What a bunch of cocksuckers. If celebrities had any clue as to the number of people who actually don't give a shit about them they would welcome a couple of paparazzi taking photos.

There are plenty of famous people who live their lives privately and act like normal people. It can be done.

  9. In many countries it's illegal, but others haven't made such restrictions. Even so, it's relatively easy to buy those types of lasers online.

If these guys do get fired for this, I'm sure they will be replaced by men who are equally asshatted.

  10. i remember the stories on Brangelina's security guards or Tom Brady/Gisele Bunchen's:they physically attack paps and Brangelina uses National Police to protect their house in south of France

People suck, telling them "no problem," then doing that.
Also, Enty, I read Cameron Diaz remarking somewhere how cool Tom is, doing all his own stunts, when I know I've seen pics, right here on CDAN, of others doing them. THANKS for the laugh!

  17. Oh man, that's some serious shit. One of our products has a laser for pointing and you wouldn't believe the amount of regulations and hoops you have to jump through internationally. They can do some serious damage. I can just imagine it being magnified by the camera and how painful that would be.
