  1. A sad and senseless death. I imagine his fiancee is a wreck. I hope the kids will be provided for.

  2. The Bengals were highlighted in a recent "Hard Knocks" and Chris Henry really came across as a troubled young man coming out of a difficult time in his life, and trying to become a better teammate and family man. Such a tragedy.

  4. ^Mango, I agree, I hope the kids will be provided for. I also hope they will have others to help them in non-financial ways. I feel sorry for the fiancee because she's probably in shock that an argument, especially if over something that might have been nothing, turned into this.

However, I feel there's more to this than the police are saying.

  5. Stupid, avoidable, and very sad for the little ones.

  6. how the fiancee is going to live w/ that the rest of her life is beyond me...omg, the kids tho...that's the saddest thing about this.

  7. The police released her.

  8. I can't imagine what happened. Just because the police released her doesn't mean that they won't press charges later. I am not saying that they should or shouldn't or that she is at fault in any way. So, so sad. I feel sorry for her and their children especially. I am sure she feels terrible even if it was just some kind of awful accident.

  10. @Alice D Millionaire

if the Char-Meck police department released her, most likely she won't be charged.

  12. Yeah, it struck me, as well. Imagine living with that. I'll bet she was weaving around trying to dump him, never thinking he'd die. Life changes in a blink of an eye. I wrote about this very thing.

  13. She HAD to have weaved around to dump him...and dump him she did. Left on the side of the road to die. This is so sad, and unfortunately now we will only get to hear one side of the story.

  14. I was shocked to see the headlines this morning that he had died. So young, so sad. While I certainly don't know the details, I have to feel sorry for the fiancee. She'll have to live with this for the rest of her life.

  15. Why would she be charged with anything? They had a fight. She tries to leave. He jumps in the back of the truck to try and stop her. According to a witness, he was trying to get to her through the back window. It was his fault.

  16. Reckless driving? Vehicular manslaughter? There are plenty of things she could be charged with, but having to live with that guilt should be punishment enough. Senseless tragedy.

  17. @Paisley: Sometimes they'll charge a person if they were driving recklessly and a death resulted in it. She could be charged with reckless driving or manslaughter.

@ktheletter: I wouldn't be so quick to judge. Who's to say that he wasn't chasing her and she was afraid of him. I'd wait until we heard more about this story.

  18. no matter how it happened it's a ridiculous way to die. telling your kids daddy died in a car accident or a plane crash is one thing. telling them 'daddy and i were fighting, i drove away, he jumped into the truck and fell out on his head and died' is another.

  19. I'm with Paisley on this one...she was obviously running from him and he pulled a Starsky and Hutch on her and she panicked. I would too if I had a man of his size trying to kick my a** too! Sounds like a case of total self defense to me.

  20. It's not like she'll be able to sugar coat it or make something up, since it's all over the news. I feel bad for kids of celebrities.

  21. I say self defense! He was obviously desperate to catch her.

  22. I never heard of the man before this, but when I typed him in google
I saw this collection of his booking photos. if he hadn't had football, he would have been in prison or dead before now. It's sad what happened, but I'm guessing she was scared of him for good reasons..

  23. @Isabel Maybe he was...I'm not judging, I'm speculating. Just like you with your rebuttal.

  24. I thought the R.I.P. would be for Jennifer Jones.

  25. He should never have jumped in the truck, its not her fault. This girl is going to have to live with this the rest of her life.

  26. Listen to the 911 calls over on TMZ. You can't put that shit on that girl's shoulders after hearing that tape. From what that person was describing, one would think that girl had to be shitting herself in that truck. Very fucked up and you hate to see anyone die but there is a reason you don't jump in the back of trucks that are moving and try to distract people who are driving let alone scare the living shit out of them. She was obviously trying to get away from his ass for a reason. It's a pretty desperate move to jump into a moving vehicle driven by someone trying to get away from you with a busted and casted up arm no less. He wasn't showing much regard for his own safety. Senseless shit.

  27. RIP, Chris.

It does sound like a case of he made a stupid decision (jumping into the bed of the truck, going after her & distracting her from driving) which resulted in his death.
