Jennie Garth Says Bye Bye To 90210

It looks like Jennie Garth has had enough of this round of Beverly Hills 90210. Call her up when there is a round 3. She can be a grandmother or something. Speaking for his wife because Jennie is somehow unable to speak for herself, Peter Facinelli says that Jennie is quitting the show to spend more time with their three daughters. He said that she had only planned to be on a few episodes but hung around for over a year.

"She's just not doing it anymore. It was one of those things where she was supposed to do a couple of episodes, it went a bit longer and now she's moving on. She enjoys being a mother, and being at home. She wants to write more and I support her 100 per cent. She doesn't need to work if she doesn't want to."

You know what I dislike? I don't like it when a husband speaks for the wife like this. It kind of seems seedy like maybe they were arguing about whether she should quit the show and she doesn't really want to or is on the edge and then he pushes her off by saying this. I'm sure I'm wrong, but it still makes me feel uncomfortable. I'm not saying that 90210 is all that great to be a part of, but I would like to see he say it and not have her husband say it. What do you think?

  1. Maybe they asked him first?

  2. That's a good obversation. With Peter in the Twilight series, they are probably set for life (assuming their life is as low-key as it seems) and she probably doesn't need to work. However, if she wants to work, she should.

  3. i dont think it seems strange for him to say...he is probably pursued by the press more so if it came up, of course he would answer...she has made comments in interviews about his career...i remember once she signed onto 90210, she said it was not a full time gig and they signed her for more and not Shannen Doherty...

  4. she's barely been on except for when jackie died. no surprise there.

  5. Maybe she wanted him to say something. I know (I am very shy) sometimes I want my partner in crime to speak up when I'm not feeling like it ;)

Maybe they have just answered that question so many times it is getting old...

  6. I cringed more at the statement, "She doesn't need to work if she doesn't want to"

    whateva....must be nice...

Do like his character in Nurse Jackie, though

Miss X nailed it. PFac seems like a pretty down to earth guy, I would be really surprised to find out he was controlling.

I'm sure his Nurse Jackie paycheck is more than her 90210 one.

  8. someone asked him why she was leaving and he answered the question.

i don't see anything 'seedy' about it. he could've said 'ask her' but he didn't. so what?

  9. I don't see anything wrong with this. He's probably just doing more press since he's in the Twilight series. Question about his wife came up, so he answered it.

  10. Actually, I think she said it first. I read this originally in Pink is the New Blog, but he linked to this:

I take exception to the "writing" part. It is extremely difficult to get a children's book published---unless, apparently, you are an actress. Because acting, of course, makes up for the years of writing that other writers need to do before they see success as writers. If ever.

    Not right.

  11. I'd only find it seedy or weird if he came out with a statement (thus acting like a publicist) when she could easily say the same for herself. Since he's all hot right now with Twilight, I'm sure someone asked him about Jennie during an interview, which isn't too weird.

  12. I really like Peter. He's been so good to his fans, he does a lot of charity work, he's always showing his appreciation for his work and his co-stars and every time I have heard these two talk about each other, I see nothing but love and respect. Honestly, I'm impressed that he was able to give that long of an answer. It gives me the impression that they've discussed it together and ultimately it's her decision, but that he supports it.

  13. blah, blah, spin, spin. just get off that damn sinking ship while you still can, jenny.

  14. Weird. I agree with Ent that his statement was a bit patronizing, but I also have thought until now he's a hell of a guy, so I'm trapped. I will wait patiently to see her statement, then decide. But yeah, it just sounded kind of patriarchal. Yech.

  15. I don't think he meant anything by this remark. I didn't take it to be controlling. I've seen them both together and separate in interviews and she didn't really strike me as meek. But who knows.

Maybe she really does want to work just not on BH-9er.

  16. i don't know, without seeing the quote in context i can't say i find this seedy. starting out by saying "she's just not doing it anymore" implies that he was asked about it and he is responding.

  17. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he spoke awkwardly because he was trying to hide the fact that she thinks the show is crap and wants off. I'm surprised she stayed on as long as she did - she never seemed that enthused about it. They were trying so damned hard to make that show a hit, I bet they threw a ton of $ at her and either she finally decided it wasn't worth it, or the show couldn't afford to keep it up.

  18. I think it's fine that he said it. I seem to remember when the show first started that she said she was just doing a few episodes, so this isn't coming from left field.

  19. I don't see anything wrong with Facinelli's answer. I don't get why this is worthy of a write-up.

  20. I saw Peter F and Jennie G in Ventura once with their family. They seemed like nice people. Jennie was polite and friendly and gracious when a little girl asked for her autograph. Peter seemed like a fun dad. How cool of her to have other ambitions than being in the spotlight. Some people don't know when to give up, so this is refreshing.

  21. Well maybe Jennyis contracted not to talk about hence her husband speak for her. They did the same thing when Twilight / New Moon. He couldnt speak much on it but she answered questions about it.

  22. I love them as a couple.
I'm always blabbing about my husbands future, people ask, I answer. I didn't see anything fishy about it.

  23. Maybe someone asked him specifically and she wasn't there. Peter seems like a cool guy, I think you are wrong enty.
