Hello Hello - Jon Heder This Is Your Career Calling

Do I like Jon Heder movies? Absolutely. They have been very funny. The problem is he only has one character he plays. From Napoleon Dynamite to that baseball movie he did with Spade to Blades Of Glory, he only plays the whiny dufus guy who probably doesn't have sex much. While that one character thing can be tough in a movie, it works great on television. Hence Woke Up Dead was a good move. An even better move is when Jon Heder signed on to do Will Ferrell's new sitcom for Comedy Central, I thought to myself this is a good move. Well, it didn't last long. Apparently Jon threw a Michael Cera type hissy fit and quit the show. His people say creative differences. I say he thinks he is bigger and better than he actually is. Walking away from a show that has already been picked up for 10 episodes is not the brightest move. Maybe, he is counting on Benchwarmers 2 being made.

  2. You took the words right out of my mouth, Enty. I read about this earlier today, Dude doesn't have anywhere near the weight to be throwing around "creative differences" demands.

  3. This reminds me of the David Caruso/NYPD Blue fit. David thought he was hot shit and his movie career never took off. It took him a really longtime to get back onto TV on a good show. Jon heed this. Dont look a gift horse in the mouth. Take the opportunity, create a niche for urself and maybe you can get promoted to a level where ur imput really matters.

  4. Jon Heder isn't gay he is actually a devout Mormon and will never do a love scene. Not that anyone is looking for that from him.

He limits himself and thinks he should be offered the world as an actor. Pfft.

I remember when David Spade was on Howard Stern and he said they forced Jon Heder to do the Napoleon Dynamite character for Benchwarmers. He said he got really bitchy about having to do it. Enty nailed it. Jon thinks he is a bigger star then he really is. I think Jon & Amanda Seyfried should go out for ego drinks.

  5. Apple, I don't like a big ego at all, but at least Amanda has better reason to have one than him. :)

  6. Michael Cera, take note!

  7. Well, the reality shows have to get their has-beens from somewhere.

  8. I've seen interviews with Heder, and Kristen Stewart where they talk about the horror of being famous and how horrible and cruel it is to have to promote their movies and riff raff commoners want to see them and perhaps even, gasp, talk to them. Wah! Wah!

Then they sigh bravely and talk about how it's the price they pay as an "artist" just trying to pursue their "craft".

Bullshit!! I wonder why they don't just move to the middle of nowhere and join, or even found, a local theater company, if it's just love of their "craft" that they live for?

  9. Oops, left Cera's name out of that first sentence.

  10. I love Michael Cera, even if he's a total cock. Same with Amanda Seyfried. And I even have a soft spot in my cold gremlin heart for KStew and her pouchy, middle-class-waitress belly. Fuck Heder.

  11. What's the dealio with Amanda Seyfried and Michael Cera acting out? Can someone be a pal and share the dirt?

  12. Jon who? Some of his characters may be well-known, but there aren't that many who would recognize his name. Dude needs to pay some more dues before he can pull the diva bit.

  13. @Mango - Michael Cera was the big holdout on the Arrested Development movie. I can't remember if it was for cash or he was fielding other offers, or both, but the rest of the cast pretty much pointed the finger at him.

Re: Amanda, read this:http://laineygossip.com/Amanda_Seyfried_at_Chloe_premiere_in_New_York_16mar10.aspx especially the Esquire article link.

But I'm with Mooshki, at least Amanda is definitely talented. I haven't seen Cera do anything other than ONE character so far.

  14. jon herder came to my theater for a kids film festival screening. tickets were only $5/person but he tried to get a 'student' discount.
i thought it was strange that someone like him would trip on $15 for 3 tickets. but he did. i guess i know why now. got to start pinching those napoleon dynamite pennies now.

  15. Hmm, yeah, that's really too bad if he suddenly had a big head. And very odd to turn down a show that most likely would have been a hit.

Very pathetic about him trying to get a student discount on the tickets, Patricia!

  16. you know, my cable and net were cut last night and i chose to watch napoleon dynamite and as i was dozing off i was wondering to myself where he is now...apparently he's being a little whiney baby bitch boy

  17. See, this is why I often tend like the little Disney stars. Those poor kids get this pretension beaten out of them young. T.alk about paying dues via constant public embarrassment and having to smile about how much you're enjoying said embarrassment. Those kids are tough as nails. LOL.

And I agree about the whining "oh, my craaaft" nonsense. Seriously. Go do it somewhere anonymously for no money, then tell us how much you LOVE it, you artistes.
