Jessica Simpson Talks About John Mayer - A Very Special Oprah

Joe Simpson must have been working the phones hard to land this spot on Oprah for Jessica Simpson. It probably wasn't a sure thing until the John Mayer comments so of course Oprah wants to know exactly how Jessica feels about what John said. Well, Jessica starts crying and says that she doesn't want people to know how she is in bed. Jessica also cried when Oprah asked her about all the criticism she faces about her weight and how tough it is to cope with people talking about her all the time. To watch a clip of tomorrow's show, click here. If for some reason you are in a country or area that can't see the clip, don't worry because you are not missing much. I don't think she gets the whole hour tomorrow. Ken Paves gets some and Lisa Ling gets some and Oprah finishes off the last remnants of Godiva she finds in the studio.

  1. She doesn't cry over John Mayer- she just makes a face and admits that she was pretty pissed

  3. I know how you guys feel about Jessica Simpson....but I think she has a right to be embarrassed and angry about John Mayer's comments.

I realize it's John Mayer, so she shouldn't have expected much, but still..

  4. I thought she was (or rather her father) was uncharacteriscallY (sp?) quiet on this issue. Papa Joe usually pounces on any soundbite. Now it makes sense, he was pulling the string behind the scenes.

  5. I may be kind of crass (my ex-wife thought so anyway) but I thought what John Mayer said about Jessica Simpson was pretty flattering. It increased my respect for her.

I agree his comments could be construed as flattering, I would be flattered, but I'm not sure they qualify as respect-inducing.

Then again, I'm a woman, perhaps for men respect is gained in unimaginable ways...

  7. THE GIRL ISN'T BRIGHT SHE'S MADE MISTAKES AND WILL MAKE MANY, MANY MORE....I FEEL SORRY FOR HER...AT LEAST WHEN I SCREW UP VERY FEW PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT IT, AND THAT IS A BLESSING.

  8. It doesn't matter if you are a rumanian acrobat or a big old sack in bed, I think it something really private and either way he was a douche

  9. Don't tell anyone, but I have totally programmed my PVR for this.

For some reason, I like Jessica Simpson. I don't think she is as dumb as she appears to be.

  10. He behaved worse than a frat boy talking with his buddies. He's old enough to know when to keep his mouth shut - he just chooses not to.

  11. You know, I like her too. I didn't so much in the Newlyweds days, but she seems kind of sweet and genuine and lost somehow. I think she needs an APPROPRIATE parent or a true friend looking out for her.

  12. I dunno. She might be a better person than I am, because I would have made sure to let Oprah know I thought John was a douchebag. Listen, everyone knows that John is into scat and degrading sex, so for him to essentially say she was into it and more is fucking distasteful and rude. I would have let him have it.

  13. Harriet,

I think Jessica is easy to like because she never insults anyone and yes she is smart like I said before her products, shoes, purses etc. are selling pretty well.

John was not giving her a flattering comment. John was drawing attention to himself by throwing out Jessica, and Jennifer's names and associating it with him.

  14. I loathe Oprah, and yet, I serously need to see this.

Enty, Jess didn't seem like she was shedding any tears in the promo.

John Mayer is a tool. He knows what he's doing. He said that shit just to cause a hubbub. I mean I don't think they guy is making up his feelings re: JS or what he said, but it's like seriously, dude - There's a time and a place. And, I'm definitely not a fan of kissing and telling like that. It wreaks of desperation, imaturity and a lack of respect, IMHO.

  15. i wouldn't be surprised if this was all Oprah's idea to have her on because SHE was so po'd at Mayer.

Jessica has never done anything to anyone to deserve all the stick she gets from EVERYONE. i think she's smarter than you think and i like her! i'm really looking forward to her new show.

  16. John must've been coked up as hell in that "interview." He rattled on and on like he was jacked out of his mind. Shooting off his big yap without thinking first.

And for a total douche he did make it sound like Jess was the best woman he's had in bed which, while that is not a great thing to do, is a back-handed compliment and must've made JA feel pretty crappy!

I like Jessica. She deserves a mature MAN to love her and be companions with. Someone other than dang Ken Paves tagging along and cock-blocking all the time.

I was/am hopeful that Billy Corgan might be a good mate for her.

  17. yeah, I think JA came off a lot worse in that interview!

I am a woman, and I cant say i would have been FLATTERED per se by the comment - but part of me would have been like "heheheh, yeah i know, i rock..."

  18. Maybe next time Jessica Simpson will be more careful about who she releases her "sexual napalm" to. Not that I'm blaming her, but come on, how many H'Wood dudes do you have to sex before something like this comes out?

  19. i hope this serves as a lesson that you reeeeeeeeeeeeally have to be careful about who you sleep w/. bet she never thought it'd come back to bite her in the mom jean-ed ass. poor girl, how embarrassing.

  20. Maybe I'll actually watch Oprah

I never understood what the deal was w/ the MomJeansGate. I'd rather see high wasted pants on any sized woman than her ass hanging out when wearing low rise.
