Nicollette Sheridan Is Standing Alone

Apparently Nicollette Sheridan is going to go through her lawsuit on her own. All of the other Housewives from Desperate Housewives released a joint statement saying they have no idea why Nicollette said what she said and they think the environment at work is wonderful.

"It would be irresponsible of us to let the public believe that being a part of this show from its inception has been anything but a blessing. We have no first-hand knowledge of what Nicollette may or may not have experienced, but we would never characterize our set as a hostile environment."

In addition, Teri Hatcher said she was really upset to be singled out in the lawsuit and that she wishes Nicollette had talked to her before naming Teri in the lawsuit as someone who also had bad dealings with the creator of the show, Marc Cherry. I wonder what they would say if the show was canceled or their characters were killed off.

  1. 4 smart actresses who know its hard out here and want to keep their jobs.

  2. Ha. They know who signs their paycheques.

  3. I don't know what to believe with this one:
    1. Nicollette does not seem like a nice person. I could also see her making something like this up.
    2. However, I could see someone in Cherry's position doing something similar to what he is being accused of.
    3. The actresses are not going to say anything against Cherry because they want to keep their jobs and Nicollette had to know that.
I guess I am just going to withold judgment and see what happens.

  4. IN THIS ECONOMY, they circled the wagons. Not surprising.

  5. Since Enty posted that Cherry was *witnessed* striking Sheridan, this 'principled stand' disgusts me, and that's despite understanding that this is likely about a paycheck.

I don't think any of these actresses are worth a damn excepting Marcia Cross. Felicity Huffman is a miserable, horribly overrated 'talent,' no better than the execrable Hatcher or Longoria.

  6. they were always shitty to Edie.

this is like the crusader at your work that always fights for the good shit for everyone too much of a pussy to say anything. then one day that person gets the boot for whatever reason and the rest all turn a blind eye like Jerry Maguire. cowards.

  7. Eva hinted at the truth last week and now it sounds like they've been "instructed" to make a statement and present a united front.

Based on this I now believe Nicollette is telling the truth.

  8. I'm sure thet were instructed by ABC to release that statement, written by ABC. On another note, the audio on the ads are all playing at once again!! Anyone having this problem today?

  9. Nicolette is warping the truth and is trying to get a payday. After the dust settles, inside scoop to be shared.

  10. This is my first time at the site today and all is silent. Although there is a big white box on the side, maybe the ad didn't load.

  11. Ugh. That is gross, I guess they don't think the tables will turn for them. I hope the show gets cancelled.

  12. @TinselSass: how do you know Sheridan is warping the truth?

I honestly don't see her trying to get a payday - she's been a working actress for decades and she may be the bitchiest bitch who ever bitch, but she was consistently employed. She doesn't have a history of instability - I'm not saying Cherry does, at all, but given that Enty posted that he was *seen* doing it on the sidelines and that he thumped her to the degree that it left a mark on her forehead, I think ABC and Cherry should be held liable.

  13. Forget with waiting... the false guesses are upsetting so some details now... The "hit" was part of demonstrating how a scene could be played. She got upset at the time but everyone knew it was part of a scene for the show, not a "real life" moment. Now a year plus later, she's trying to turn it into something $$$ else. Marc C may use sharp words as a weapon but he is not a hitter. If you met him, worked with him, knew him, you would know this is a crazy claim. No, I don't work with him or the show. Just know people who do and personally have had a few lovely interactions and conversations with him.

  14. BTW, CDAN community, I share the info with you because I know you - we - care about holding people accountable and calling BS when we know it. I'm not a professional scooper, just have some industry access and professional experience, perspective.

  15. I think there's some truth to the sotry, but Nicolette seems like a difficult person and somewhat of a dive. Obviously the rest of the cast doesn't want to lose their jobs.

  16. Thank you TinselSass! That is the first explanation that has made sense to me. It was poor judgment on his part to let his hand actually connect with her face, but if it wasn't done in anger, it's a whole different story.

  17. I BELIEVE HER, BUT THE OTHER GIRLS ARE STILL GETTING PAYCHECKS ...AND NOT ARE WILLING TO ROCK THE BOAT..

  18. please, Marc Cherry is known to be a big old drama queen with inner anger issues. i believe her.

  19. *diva - @jax what stories about Marc Cherry

  20. *slightly off topic*
Does Felicity Huffman look like Carrie Bradshaw in that photo? It's freaking me out without my contacts in.

  21. Why'd she wait so long?

    ReplyDelete
  22. She does, Terri! I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. She never really looks like that on the show, either.

  24. I have never met any of the players here but I am with Jax on this one. Enty's post with the on-set witness notes that the contact was enough to leave Sheridan with a forehead mark. She was fired soon after. I believe her.

Also, it's very much standard in civil litigation for suits to be filed right up against the relevant statute of limitation. That Sheridan has filed quite a while after the fact doesn't indicate anything, or at least not anything that reflects poorly on Sheridan.

  25. God, I hate to be a debbie downer, but how can you believe Ent, whose reputation is shaky at best, but not the cast, TinselSass, and your own common sense? And you can't use the argument that TinselSass could be making it up, cause so could Ent.

    Any comments?

  26. I can totally see where others think differently, but common sense to me dictates that Sheridan's version is more credible. If you were going to demo that kind of 'duh' smack to the forehead, wouldn't you do it to yourself, unless you were just fucking pissed at someone and wanted to hit her, and so you did? I also agree with the person upthread who thought that Longoria's appearance on Seacrest's show indicated that there was something to it but she wasn't comfortable being asked about it.

  27. I think it is a shitty show and don't care if it is canceled. That said, I have to agree that if "I" were going to demonstrate a forehead thwap, I would do it on myself. Especially if I were a man.

  28. @chihuahuense

Hahaha! I don't care about the show either, and I also wouldn't demonstrate on the person, but it's a little sketchy that Nicolette Sheridan would use snatcher in the lawsuit as a witness and have her flat out deny it. Someone's lyyyyingggg.

  29. IF Nicollette is telling the truth I pray that she gets justice. It's a pet peeve of mine when employers mistreat employees and get away with it.

On the other hand I also remember that Nicollette went after Michael Bolton's home when they split even though they weren't married. Or was there an explanation for her believing it should be given to her?

  30. About Hatcher -- I just read a little while ago that she has an independent web-based deal with ABC - I imagine she'd want to protect it.

I think Hatcher, Cherry and ABC ARE spinning and being deceitful. Why would anyone need to demo to a veteran actress -- particularly one who was on a soap where she was in catfights -- how to get hit?

We've all wanted to smack people at our jobs...but if we do it and the loss of income from the target's subsequent firing can hit the millions (Sheridan, like each of them, made six figures per episode), we don't reach out and thwap someone.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Considering the so-called slight, even if true, is not worth $10 million or whatever moronic number she is asking for.

And please on the "mistreatment". These people make more in an episode then probably 99% of the people that read this blog make in a year (or even three).

Hostile my butt. She got fired, she didn't get more job offers like she expected, and now realizes she never created that nest egg and is hoping this will do it.

  32. $10 Million??? Wow.

I don't know who to believe...you all have given such good cases for both sides. ;)
I thought the united front joint statement was weird initially.
