Can't believe the Douglas kid only got 5 years. I thought one of his charges carried a mandatory 10 year sentence. If that were some poor kid from the streets, I wonder what the sentence would have been? Michael and Diandra were bad parents, but so were most drug dealer's parents. Cameron will have something in common with his cellmates. Provided he's not in some special section of the prison where they put other "celebrity" criminals.

ReplyDeleteI would be highly surprised if Rachael Ray is preggo - she has said numerous times that she has never wanted children. People can change their minds, of course, but she *is* in her 40's now. I know she is annoying and I can only take so much of her myself, but I've always liked that she spoke freely of her choice to be childfree, especially when it seems like the whole world is baby-crazy, and she loves animals. I have common ground with her in those regards and annoying or not, she's successful and stinkin' rich. Things I unfortunately, do NOT have in common with her!

I'm telling you, Kelly Osbourne has had something done to her face...I realize she's young and has lost a fair amount of weight lately, but that's not just youthful snap-back. Something's been tweaked or tightened.

The judge had no business calling the parents immature and distant! This is a grown man we are talking about, not some little kid. I am so sick of putting the blame on the parents all the time. This kid was given the best that he could ever get and I am certain was given plenty of opportunity to live his life on the straight and narrow. If he chose to live a life of crime instead, that is HIS responsibility-no one else's.

Me either, only managed 1 episode of No reservations, his unrelenting posturing got to me. And I really hated his shilling for Global knives in Kitchen Confidential. Several knife/professional cooks fora I frequent say that chefs and line cooks mostly stopped using the Globals due to repetitive stress injuries.
Whatever Kelly Osbourne has done, she looks good.
ReplyDeleteI think the judge's comments stem from the fact that Cameron Douglas has been in trouble with drugs for a long time. And mommy and daddy thought their name and checkbook could buy him a free ticket. This sentence might be just the thing to get him clean.

I love Anthony Bourdain, I really do. I think he's clever and witty and I enjoyed his book, No Reservations", however his disdain for other chefs is ridiculous. He can look down his nose all he wants at Sandra Lee, but there is a niche for what she does. And when he rants about things like garlic presses (sorry that my knife skills aren't as graduated as those of a professional chef, Tony!) or a vegetarian diet, he makes me want to stuff a sock in his mouth.
Camryn Mannheim does look great, 'tho what's up with the boobs? Is that a new chin rest?
