Girl Who Was Allegedly Raped By Lawrence Taylor Told Him She Was 19

Some updates from yesterdays events about Lawrence Taylor. The former Dancing With The Stars contestant has been charged with statutory rape and soliciting a prostitute. It turns out the beating the girl received was allegedly from her pimp because she didn't want to have sex with anyone. After the alleged beating, she did have sex with Lawrence Taylor and told him that she was 19. In most states this still isn't a defense in statutory rape.

Meanwhile the FBI is involved because the girl may have been transported across state lines to have sex. Meanwhile, Lawrence Taylor's attorney said that Taylor didn't do anything wrong. Uh huh.

  3. The only thing I see wrong here, is prostitution.

It all seems pretty sketchy and ridiculous on the girl and her pimps end.

    I don't know though.....

  4. He solicited prostitution. That is illegal. Just because he is an idiot, doesn't mean the rest of us are.

  5. We are not the judge and jury in this case.

Let the legal system determine if this guy is guilty.

I remember a few years ago, a woman cried rape and she was lying the whole time. She was hanging out with Sharpton?!?

    Innocent until proven guilty.

I don't know that much about this guy, and he may have a bad reputation or past, but unless he has a prior rape charge, we shouldn't assume anything.

I don't think we should jump to conclusions until all the evidence is presented.

  6. And who sleeps with a girl who's been freshly beaten? Pfft.

  7. His life may be screwed for a while (NutriSystem already dropped him), but somehow I think he'll walk.

    Is he smiling?

  10. While Lawrence has had his problems in the past the ONLY thing he did wrong here was have sex with a PROSTITUTE. OH NO lock him up and throw away the key.
Please. He hired her for a service, an illegal service but still a service, no "JOHN" (man who illicits sex with prostitute) is going to ask questions, her purpose there was to have sex with him. She did it and took the money and WENT BACK to her pimp.
Lawrence is guilty of stupidity but that's about it. I doubt he knew the girl was performing the act against her will. Why would he know, I doubt she told him that.
He can be charged with statutory rape, but I don't know how all of that will play out if she lied about her age.

You're right Sue Ellen, who has sex with a beaten woman? I say let the charges stick.

  12. fuuuck...why is he smiling?

This one is a bit difficult.. -It's wrong to rape and beat up a woman or a girl, but she was a prostitute and he didn't know she was underage. If he hit her, I don't know if that's a common thing when the client pays her to do something and that something includes violence. If the pimp was keeping her against her will then it's the pimp's fault.

**I'm not taking this a*hole side but he didn't attack her on the street and then raped her, she was a hooker, it was a service (as far as we know). Sure, still doesn't make it right to do this kind of things!

  13. I'm afraid I agree with Lady J.

As for sex with a beaten woman, it may not have been apparent to him she had recently been beaten.

  14. Am I the only one who knows that soliciting prostitution is illegal? Idgi.

  15. He hired a pimp to bring him a young girl to have sex for money. She had a black eye and was probably strung out. It doesn't matter how old she told him she was, how old she was or how good she was. He didn't care...he just wanted sex. The fact is that she was 16 and he loses. Period.

  16. If the Feds prosecute the case he is screwed as it is way easier to get a conviction in Federal court than in State courts.

  17. @Sue Ellen

We know soliciting prostitution is illegal, BUT that is all he did. I doubt he knew the girl was performing against her will or that she was kidnapped and brought across state lines.

  18. @Lady J

I doubt that too, it's just crazy to see people saying he's just guilty of being stupid. He's not. This is also not his first time at the jail rodeo.

  19. So his defense involves him admitting to breaking the law (prostitution)? Hah, this guy is even more of an idiot than I thought.

I hope they throw the book at him.

  20. those are some seriously bloodshot eyes.

he's messed up, obvs...but omg, i can't help but wonder about the teen...how did she end up this way? so sad.

  21. You can still be charged with rape even if you didn't know the person was underage.

Strict Liability in more than 20 states?!?
    I can't remember the number.

  22. I think he is banking on the fact he used a condom and no DNA is on her. But, before he left with the cops he really really wanted to use the bathroom before he left. Though he wasn't allowed to, maybe the cops found the used condom before he could flush it.

The only thing i think could tie him is if he called the pimp. Or the girls says he has something funky like a bent purple penis that she would have to see to know.

  23. Reasonable mistake of age is not a defense in some states but is in others. Here, in Oregon, it depends on the age whether or not you can use it as a defense.

I think the law is Bullsh!t. If you meet a person in a situation where you would expect them to be over the age of consent (ie - a bar) and it turns out their not, i don't know why you should be a registered sex offender.

By the way, the girl is also barely shy of the age of consent. Like it or not.

  24. I think he's been set up, big time. You would think these famous, rich guys would have figured by now that screwing around these days is very hazardous. I don't think he did anything worse than pay for a hooker. I guess you need to ask to see ID!!!

Wow. You know what? Even if you 'don't know if that's a common thing', you still get to disapprove of it. Really nice morals, Jess.

And yes, he's guilty of at least soliciting prostitution.

I am disgusted with Jess and a few other people who posted above minimising him having sex for money with a beaten-up 15-year old.

  26. @lollydarling

It's not about my morals and I'm not saying that is ok to hit a woman if she's a hooker. My parents and basically every relative works as a lawyer or judge (not in the US) where prostitution is not illegal and I've heard that there's been cases where a client pays for disgusting or violent things and the prostitute agrees to do it, there's no foul play. That's what I was trying to say.

I'm sorry if I hurt you with my comment but it was based in experiences I've heard and not on my personal opinion, again as i said "it doesn't make it right to do this kind of things!"

  27. Jess, I know what you're saying, I just don't think most prostitutes truly "consent" to that kind of thing, because they are usually only doing it out of desperation or addiction.

  28. Jess and Mookshi,

I think you misread because the report is that her PIMP beat her, not Lawrence Taylor. The PIMP is the one guilty of beating her, setting up the meeting and taking her across state lines (if true). Lawrence Taylor is most likely guilty of hiring a prostitute. Doesn't make it OK, just makes it illegal in this case.

I hope I'm not harping on anyone, but I've known him since I was 5 years old and I have some ideas about how this all went down.
